I usually don’t like or comment on videos but I bought something you recommended years ago, loved it so much that I ended up buying 5 more pairs for others. Still works great! No issues in the past two years. Keep those reviews coming 🙌🏼
i just realized how much effort, time, and money all these comparisons take..i know its a tremendous amount of work going into each of these videos and everything you do is much appreciated 👍
Another great non-biased, info packed comparison video Blaise! Thank you for doing these tests and sharing what you have found!! Bulb facts is the best source for honest LED and forward lighting informations!!!
Enjoy your videos. +1 on the Farhens. Installed a set of the $40 Amazon ones a couple weeks ago and I have to say they're great LEDS for the price. Bright and a really good beam pattern in my '19 Colorado.
Wow! ... you have done me an awesome service., there is so much on the market to choose from and you have made it easier by doing all the testing ... Thankyou!
i have the prox v2s and they are insane. i try and turn them off as much as possible like if im sitting in a parking lot because they are just so bright. and when they are used in high beams, well i registered a street sign being illuminated by them OVER 2 MILES AWAY
Thanks for sharing PhaseSkater! Glad to hear they are working well for you. They are incredibly bright, something to consider when switching from halogen.
@@BulbFacts yeah still lots of bleed over Ambient light even with the strong cut off and hot spot. Just that bright. They also are so bright that the ground doesn’t need fog lights lol
1 year or more had passed since your last video. Hope everything is great 👍. Quick question, is the ddm saber prox 55w Accu v2 still the king right now or there's better options?
Yes sorry about that, life has been pretty busy lately! But I do still test in new products, and there is an LED which is even brighter, and it's again from DDM: bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/ - I hope to do some new videos this year!
Every time I’m in the market for LED headlights, first thing I do is check your website. Our fleet has cougar motor flagship and katana headlights based on your recommendations. Thanks for the video!
Hey man will you be releasing all new videos soon for the best if 2022 and or 2023? Also what is the brightest H1 option for refector high beams? Budgrt and mid tier please. The low beams are d1s hids and i went with the ddm kit you recommended but i need to replace my old reflector h1 led high beams
Hi Austin, yes sorry I've been pretty busy over the last few years, but do at least keep up with testing new products and updating our website. I do plan to do some new videos soon though! You can always find our latest recommendations on our website here for LED: bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/
Hello, yes we actually had a new video planned, but cancelled it as we decided to include lifespan results as well, which seem to be changing the recommendations. We do keep the website charts and recommendations up to date as we test however. I'm planning a new video this summer, so be on the lookout for that!
Amazing content as always! Thank you for putting all of this together! I had a quick question. On your website it states that the DeAuto Gen TR 2.0 is dimmable. I'm wondering if this will work in place of a 9005 high beam that has DRL function, or if I would need to look at the Morimoto 2stroke's.
Thanks Markus for the support! I would go with the Morimoto's if you are looking for a dimmable LED in a DRL. The DeAuto's and others may work, but they are not designed to dim. Apologies for the confusion there. We just test them on a standard linear DC rail down to about 6v, but many vehicles use PWM and have varying volage which could cause issues. The Morimoto's also dim down properly in the DRL setting which is a huge benefit especially in a high-beam.
@@BulbFacts Great info! Really appreciate the advice and quality content! I'll likely go with the Morimoto's after I sort out my low beam brightness issues. I have the DDM tuning saber V2's, but I've had brightness issues despite picking up new housings after a projector delamination issue. They are still not up to optimal output (measured around 480 lux at 20ft on the hot spot). Had the new housings replaced under warranty, just have to put them in and hopefully that will resolve the issue. Thank you again for the advice!
@BulbFacts Do you mind if I pick your brain...I have a 04 Lexus gs300 which has the four headlight system, outside low beams, inside drl/high beam. I'm switching to aftermarket headlights with 3inch projectors inside of a led halo for low beams, and reflector for drl/high beam inside a halo. My question is if the headlight wiring is changed to H7 low, H1 high ( drl is the 4 halos ) what yellow led do you recommend for the reflector housing because I plan on keeping stock drl yellow lights. So would the Morimoto be a lighting system I should get for the reflector housing? ( Happy New Year )
Hi thanks for the great explanation. I have separate reflector for low and high. Would you recommend use 6000K in both low and high? Or should I use 4500K for high and should I use 4500K or 3000K for fog light? Thanks in advance.
Hi Kerwyn, it's entirely up to you, but both work well in all conditions. The 4500k is going to be easier on the eyes when it's snowing, raining, etc. 3000k is a good color to cut through fog. The 'best' configuration in my opinion would be 6000k low beam, 4500k high beam, and 3000k fog-lights. But most people like to use one color to match everything up for a better look.
@@BulbFacts ,right now have hids, 5000 low, 6000 high. Not keen on the 5000, but bought a set of kitana's(led) for the low(your recommendation). But they twist for beam pattern. Have an altima, which is a real pain in the ass to put in, is there a way to adjust them first? And yeah, a vid on fog lamps would be great. Thanks
@@jasomkovac9115 I would remove the bulb and see if it clocks/rotates. If it doesn't, I would pick something else up that has that ability. Some headlights have the halogen bulb turned, which isn't a problem for it, but for an LED it causes a poor beam pattern.
Are you guys not doing anymore videos? This was always my favorite channel for looking up headlight bulbs. I hope to see this channel continue to post videos and grow.
Hi pinoy1hitko, I have been pretty busy over the last few years, but I do still test in new products and update our website. I hope to put out some new videos this year though! Appreciate the support.
Some vehicles you have to remove the front bumper, but many times you can get to the headlight from the wheel well liner, but it can be tricky. Search for your vehicle on UA-cam to see if others have encountered the same problem and hopefully something is useful.
Buying different LEDs I find lasfits h11 lowbeams are bright & can have an even beam on certain vehicles as with my Tacoma having the projector lens the beam pattern is even but on my daughter's 2017 Camry le having projector lense the same h11 lasfit don't have same beam pattern as my 2017 tacoma, the pattern looks like half of a triangle look pattern on top with both sides, It may have something to do with the light assembly where on a Tacoma it has open inside lense with the projector though on a Camry the inside of the lense has dividers next to the projector lense that could be causing the light beam to show half of a triangle look at top of light beam have no idea what else it can be I adjusted the bulbs in every position possible still can't eliminate that pattern?
See if they are adjustable (clockable) and if so try to adjust so that the LEDs (diodes) are pointed exactly left and right (side to side). In some cases they'll install at an angle, which is fine for a halogen bulb, but messes up the beam with and LED.
Question are the DDM ProX V2 really that good? Are they better than just using an HID kit in terms of how far it throws? That's usually the consensus with the overall community that HID kits are generally better than LED ones, unless these are really that good.
Hi Jeffrey, they are quite a great product. But if you have a halogen projector, I would still recommend an HID conversion rather as they may throw light further and offer the best beam pattern. For people that have to have LEDs, the DDM ProX V2's are the way to go though.
I’m having trouble picking which one to go with. I have a 2018 Jeep Grand cherokee with stock halogen bulbs in a projector housing. im choosing between the deautokey h11 HID Kit and the ddm tuning saberled pro x accu v2. I know the HID produce more light across but seeing that the DDM on bulbfacts shows that it works great in projectors as well. any auggestions?
Hi Solorah, I would go with the HID conversion rather, as you'll get a better beam pattern from your halogen projectors. The DDM LEDs are very good of course, but can be tricky with the Jeep's electrical system, sometimes needing special harnesses, etc. Something to keep in mind as well.
@@BulbFacts i just put in a pair of h11 LED bulbs from deauto, the beam pattern looks kind of weird . i tried so hard to angle it as best as i can but trying to put those bulbs in were such a hassle i don’t think they’re aligned properly
@@Solorah I would try to adjust them if possible. But if not I would move back to halogen or go with an HID conversion as the beam is the most important thing for proper output and visibility.
Hi Paul, here are our latest recommendations; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/ - Go with the DDMs or a premium LED if you are looking for a longer liefspan.
Hey Alexander, take a look at our warm white recommendations here; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#fr - if you need a pure yellow, I would go with the DDM ProX V2s, as they are the brightest yellow/amber we have tested so far.
Great video! You are the best for information. Will these LEDs beat any halogens? Recently purchased Cougar H11 LEDs for a 2016 Camry. Good choice or would a halogen be brighter?
Hey Jeff, there are different Cougar Motor LED models, but the 'Flagship' model we tested performed extremely well for the price. You can find the test details here; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/
I can’t find anywhere what kind of led bulbs for 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport BASE 2.4l shows when I replace them that I use 9005 for high and low so I can’t find anything that clearly points to which to purchase? I’ve watched your 2020 video as well as previous vid…any help?
Hi Chris, thanks! You can take a look at or latest recommendations for each category, as it will vary a bit; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/ - LEDs seem to perform well in reflectors, but additional glare is something that should be considered when selecting a very bright LED bulb.
Hi Nelson, thanks. I would go with either an HID conversion (bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/), or the DDM Tuning ProX V2 LEDs (bulbfacts.com/led-kits/reviews/ddm-tuning-saberled-prox-55w-accu-v2-led-review.html).
Hi Sam, we have tested some already, and plan to do more. You can find the results for a few products at the bottom of this page; bulbfacts.com/hid-oe/chart/
My van uses the an H11 is both the low and high beam (reflector). I see that you recommend the Fahren and Cougar for different uses. Which would you recommend if I wanted to use one brand for both applications?
5:28 Are you saying these LEDs don't work well in bi-halogen projectors? I had enough of the cheap HID kits so i was hoping for LEDs. Currently on DDM Tuning HID 55W ballasts, the bulbs and ballasts died a few times and the light output diminishes greatly after just a few months (same on my car and motorcycle). Right now, i don't think they are any brighter than halogens - i really hate them.
Hi Mickey, that's correct. I wouldn't recommend LED for a bi-halogen projector. You WILL get more upward output, but it's limited and nothing like HID. We have tested DDM's basic HID kit and they are ok, but very cheap like other similarly priced kits. Their 'ultra' bulbs are quite good and similar in quality to CNLight used by Morimoto and the like. You can find our latest recommendations for HID conversion kits here; bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/
Do you think LED’s have advanced enough to replace HID’s? I have an 09 G37 and it comes with HID’s from factory and uses projectors but I want next level bright lights seems like there’s hardly any options for this car
Hi Jacob, they have gotten close. I would still recommend sticking with Xenon though, as you'll get the best beam. There are great upgrade options from both the major brands (Philips and OSRAM) as well as aftermarket brands. www.bulbfacts.com/hid-oe/recommended/ - Another thing i want to mention, is using LED in a bi-halogen or bi-xenon projector typically limits the high-beam output drastically, so we never recommend LEDs in those types of applications.
You'll want to stick with a DRL compatible LED, which the Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0's are. I haven't found any LEDs from Amazon etc that are truly designed for a DRL, but some seem to work in different vehicles, so it's a toss up.
I see that there is a 20000LM Katana LED available on Amazon now. Looks like a newer version of the Katana's you tested on your website, would you recommend this other Katana model or the model you tested (16000LM)??
Thanks for the effort put into the videos. Good job. I have DDM Tuning Saber ProX 55W Accu/V2 yellow fog light bulbs on a Mercedes ML W164 and they do a great job. I drive in the fog where even the birds walk and Saber ProX 55W Accu/V2 yellow fog light bulbs (3000 K) allow me to drive quite fast. I believe they were the best at the time of the video. However, this year DDM Tuning got extremely strong competition: the Auxbeam GX 25,000 lumens and the Hikari 2023 Future 30,000LM. I occasionally use the aforementioned Auxbeam GX 25,000 lumens as a high beam and even it helps quite well in fog, even though it is white in color, ie. 6,000 K. Namely, the large amount of light illuminates traffic signs and road lines exceptionally well and far away.
Hi Branislav, thanks for sharing! Glad to hear they are working well for you. And thank you for the suggestions on LED products. I actually have the new Hikari's in queue for testing soon, but I wasn't aware of the new Auxbeams, so I just ordered a set for testing. I have some others in queue as well including DDM's new 65W LEDs, so we'll see how they all stack up. I plan to release a new video soon, but you can always find the test results on our website right away as usual. Thanks again, your suggestions keep the channel going!
@@neometalx9 That's right. I would be interested if someone did a comparison between Hikari Titanova Hikari 2023 Future and DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 65W. I looked at the comparisons between the Hikari Titanova 2023 Future and the Auxbeam GX 25000LM and the winner is said to be the Hikari. I also looked at the DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 65W and Auxbeam GX 25000LM comparison. Auxbeam lost there too. However, I am still in a dilemma as to which is better: Hikari Titanova 2023 Future or DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX 65W. I'm not sure, but I think their performance might be about the same, with the Hikari Titanova 2023 Future being twice the price. I was looking at a review somewhere that would be useful for comparison, but it quickly disappeared.
@@branislavlakic3946 I hope to have some newer products up soon including the new Hikari LEDs. I'm also planning on some new videos this year. Hopefully my schedule will allow, appreciate the support!
I want to see a test video of the gtr ultra 2 led, morimoto 2 stroke 3.0, supernova v4 and the ddm tuning lights in projector and reflector housings. They are all apparently super bright but I want to see some independent testing to see.
@@Nayr747 I'm skeptical of their testing because the retrofit source llc is the parent company of gtr lighting and headlight revolution. So it's possible they can manipulate the results to make their in house product look the best.
@@brayannexon4613 That's a good point. They only test bean pattern and brightness at a single point anyway. Bulb facts is way more thorough as well as potentially less biased.
Hi Brayan - We have tested all of the LEDs you mentioned, they just didn't make it into the video (except for the DDM's). You can find our test results on our website chart here; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/#premium & bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/projectors.html#premium
Hi Dillon, you'll want to look for the Flagship model specifically. Although their other models seem to do well too, like the X-Small model if you need something more compact.
Hi, I'm looking to improve the lighting on my classic car which uses 7" rounds. I've seen some units with 12 tiny led's in the bottom curve, these units take a main/dip H4 bulb, would it be possible to put in philips ultinon pro9000 Led's? And if so what are the results likely to be? Any other recommendations? Thanks
Hi Dee. We haven't tested any classic style headlights, so I can't really say for sure what will work well. Our tests are based more on modern headlights. If the headlight though uses a replaceable bulb, you should be able to install the Philips Pro9000 LEDs, which would be highly recommended in fact due to it's pure white color and perfect beam ability. I would reach out to Headlight Revolution as they seem to offer some custom headlights for classic cars, and may have a better recommendation for you.
Hi Brad, I would go with the GTR Lighting Ultra 2 with the added Pro Decoders. They seem to perform well on the newer Rams for some reason compared to other LEDs which either have issues or wear out prematurely. They are extremely bright, and while they didn't make the #1 spot, they weren't far off. They are a bit more expensive due to their lifetime warranty.
Is there specific test only for fog lights in reflectors case ? Just found out Auxbeam Z3 series with triple light color, it's sounds pretty cool and practices for more condition use. Love to hear opinion from you.
Hi FuriousHondaBoy, we used to test fogs, but I haven't had as much time to keep up with them. Just look for LEDs with a higher lumen amount, as you'll get more light spread typically. Warmer colors are preferred as well.
Do you know of any bright LEDs that are shorter than average? I need something 67mm or shorter for a very tight space. I was hoping to use Hikari's but they are too long overall. The only one that fits is the Sealight X1 H11's, but they're not very bright.
Hi Markus, they're all pretty similar. I would just check the overall dimensions before purchasing. We record the diode length and overall length, but the Sealight X1's and Hikari Ultra's were close in terms of length.
what leds do you recommend for a halogen that has a dlr function? i happen to have a 2001 nissan xterra stock halogens but also has dlr function.. thanks
Hi Jeff, I would go with the Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0: link.bulbfacts.com/m2s3 for your DRL, as they are designed to run properly in DRL mode, and give off a nice pure white color and an amazing quality beam.
@@jeffbmtb6993 you got it! I believe XenonDepot's kit is compatible as well, but I would double check with them first. I know the Morimoto's work well and are going to be the brightest option with the most accurate beam.
Thanks for the suggestion! I swear we had tested that specific kit, but I don't see it on our website. I'll look into that as I know we have the LEDs in our stock.
@bulbfacts thanks for the timely video. If the Fahren has a better pattern than the Cougar, then why do you recommend the Cougar for low beams and Fahren for Highs? Seems like it should be the other way around?
Hi Drew! They both work well in both applications, however it's just a matter of what's most important, so we like to give some more options. Fahren's work well in a low beam as well, but just don't put out as much light overall.
Thanks for the reply. I grabbed a pair of the Fahren bulbs because I want a clean beam in the wife's car. Going to try them in the lows and if they work out grab a pair for the highs. Have you done any separate videos on fogs?
@@drewstratton7972 sounds great, let me know how it works out! We used to test fogs but prioritized headlights for now due to time constraints. I plan to add more fog-light testing in the future. Sorry about that.
I would go with an HID conversion for a bi-halogen projector application, otherwise the high-beam setting will suffer due to the design limitation of the LED.
I would recommend an HID conversion first (www.bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/), and then a quality LED upgrade if you want to go LED (www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#hp ).
Thanks! Yes sorry about that, I planned to add it in there but the sample needed for the driving footage was on backorder so we cut it out. You can find the link in the description though (J87 G8).
Hi Mohit, we don't currently test H4, but I do plan to do some rounds of additional sizes including H4 as it's the most popular requested dual-beam bulb type. Appreciate the recommendation!
I wouldn't say better, but LED has become brighter than HID in certain models, specifically the DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX V2s. An HID is still recommended for the best beam possible, and in case you are running a bi-halogen setup.
Hello. For your Hyundai Kona, take a look at the Cougar Motor Flagship LEDs. They are currently the best budget buy at under $50/set. If you have the money though, go with the DDM ProX V2's. They are closer to $200, but are a premium LED with a longer warranty, and higher output.
@@BulbFacts yea the ddm are out of the budget lol the cougar motor flagship are those the 45w ones or the 55w ones I see on Amazon for $79 they claim to have 20000 lumens in 6500k color. Also the alla lighting seem to be top pick also and made your list. Torn between those two
Would love to see you trying the new led's that you swap for oem xenon, they are now plug and play with no need for separated canbus decoder it's all built in.
Hi Guilherme, thanks for the suggestion! We have tested some LEDs kits so far and were not impressed with the results (compared to D2S), however I do know there are some new products coming onto the market which can run with the OE ballast system, so we'll be checking those out soon.
@@BulbFacts Looking forward for that! I recently bought one of those kits (d1s) brand oppulite, the red version which is the upgraded version, on Amazon, and I really liked the build quality of the bulb looked premium, the brightness I would say it's double the amount of the bulbs I had before but it's not a fair comparison because they were 4 years old but still, I'm impressed with the brightness. Curious if they would match the osram cbi or nbl.

Hi gladwin, we have tested them, including their current Ultra 2 model. They are a great product, and were very close to the top spots. thanks for you're great video . i am looking for led low beam bulb for a kia sorento 2019 projector style .Can you help me to make the right choice please. thanks for your time. lost in the world of bulbs!!
Hi Josh, thanks for the support! For your Sorento, I would go with an HID conversion for the best beam quality. It also allows you to choose the color. Install is a bit more involved though; www.bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/ - You can also go with an LED drop-in. The DDM ProX V2's are our top pick in a Kia projector; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#hp - Hope that helps!
No sorry, as they don't offer an H7 size, so we were unable to officially test in our headlight projectors. They are a great product made in the USA with a perfect beam pattern, but there are much brighter options if that is what you are looking for. If you have halogen projectors, I would recommend an HID conversion rather, or the DDM ProX V2s.
Hi Lazarus Rex. Yes actually I have a number of smaller bulbs which I plan to test in the future. I'm hoping to have some new content later this year or early next year.
Hi Chris, thanks for your support. I hope to release a new LED video soon, as we have a number of new LED products currently in testing, and there may be some new product recommendations now! Thanks!
You should definitely continue to make videos ! I can tell that other channel " Headlight Revolution " is just making videos to sell on their web page. Nothing wrong with that, but your channel just feels more authentic. Less sales pitch
Hi @TerenceGrier, yes we actually had a new video planned, but cancelled it as we decided to include lifespan results as well, which seem to be changing the recommendations. We do keep the website charts and recommendations up to date as we test however. I'm planning a new video this summer, so be on the lookout for that! PS Headlight Revolution has great content, but yes they sell products so their recommendations are skewed a bit.
Hi JJ, I would go with the Cougar Motor Flagships for your stock halogen projectors; amzn.to/3nYMTim if it's a low-beam only. If you have bi-halogen projector's, go with an HID conversion rather; www.bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/
Hi Blaze, great channel & content! Any chance to do a Amazon 20 inch LED light bar? Seems like all sorts of lumen claims. I don’t have the tools, would love to see your recommendations! 🇨🇦👍 Thank you.
Hi, thanks! I haven't done any light-bars, but I hope to at some point. The lumens would be tough to validate, as it requires a very large integrating sphere which are extremely expensive. There may be other ways to test though. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@BulbFacts , thanks for answering. But I think you misunderstood me. I was wondering if the leds would work if I boosted the voltage from 12 to 24. And get more output.
@@jasomkovac9115 sorry I misunderstood. You won't gain any benefit, and if the brightness does increase past the rated voltage of the LEDs, you'll risk overvoltage and damaging the LEDs, too much heat, premature wear, etc. So it's best to stay with the correctly rated product.
Glad I stumbled across your channel. Is there ever a time where an LED just isn't a better option over incandescent OE bulbs? Maybe the reflective light design just isn't that great for LEDs? I am finding LEDs aren't working well for my daughter's 2010 Kia Forte Also love to see comparison on fanless options. My 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie with 9005 projection lights require a cap to be installed on the back of the headlight assembly to keep dirt and debris out. Fan options just aren't possible. So my options of quality is slim. I typically just buy whatever I can that have heat ribbons instead of a fan. Quality is hit or miss. Thanks and keep making great videos.
Hi Greg. LED may not be a good option in all scenarios, such as your daughter's Kia. Some headlights don't have the capacity to handle the higher output and produce too much glare. Our test headlights which resemble most of the vehicles out there did well, but I do hear once in a while that a particular headlight didn't perform well. Hopefully in the future I can add those headlights and do some further testing. I wouldn't worry about having to go fanless in your Ram. The fan on the LED is simply to keep the diodes as cool as possible for the best output. You can run them in a sealed beam (with the dust cap) as long as you have at least some room for the airflow (LED fan/housing shouldn't press up against the cap). There are some decent fanless options like the GTR CSP Mini which I always recommend, but I would go with a fan powered LED. Ribbon cooling type LEDs don't seem to do well either based on our tests.
Hey man! We missed you. I recently bought a new car i was thinking to change bulbs... your channel came up to my mind and you just uploaded this video. I found that my old car was easier, it had reflector headlights and there were so many options, the techmax were great (your recommendation of course)! Now i have a VW CC, it has HID proyector headlights, D3S format and...i just don't know which bulb to buy, there is so much lesser offer of this format. I really miss reflectors with LED techmax compared to these proyectors with OSRAM HID So, i watched your 2018 video, that said that HID was still better than LED in proyectors...but today? In this video you show DDM, really really expensive D3S, excellent but unaffordable And the budget kit (cougar motor) does not exist on D3S format... So shoud i say bye to LEDs and better stick HID? :( And what about HID, i looked on your webpage, and you recommend DDM again. But there are no, further options specially in this socket (D3S) Would you say to stay with HID (DDM ultra) or do you know another LED brand tested that Builds D3S ? (amazon reviews are really uncertain on other brands compared to your reviews) By the way...DDM HID light cut is as precise as OEM (i consider that really importat)? Hope you can help me out. Simple and best informative channel on UA-cam
Hi Meritello. Thanks, glad to bring more content! Life's been busy, but I try to at least make a video here and there with updated recommendations for everybody. So for your VW CC with Xenon headlight projectors, you can move to LED, but keep in mind that you'll have to bypass the ballast more than likely, which can require some adapters or wire splicing. Because you have D3S, they are an eco-type Xenarc bulb with lesser output over D1S (which contains Mercury, and runs at a higher voltage). You can however upgrade to a better OE style Xenon bulb. Take a look at our recommendations here; bulbfacts.com/hid-oe/recommended/ . OSRAM and Philips offer brighter / whiter options. You could go aftermarket like DDM or simliar for the HID bulbs, but they won't last as long compared to the OSRAM and Philips. I hope that helps!
Yes it's a common issue with these LED brands, they tend to confuse the model variants a lot. Here is what the model we tested looks like if that helps; bulbfacts.com/assets/img/mfr/71eEaDFxb-L._AC_SL1500_.jpg
Hikari makes some great products, they just didn't make it into our video here. Still a recommended product though, but the gap was closed in by some other products.
Sorry we didn't have the proper size to do driving footage so we left them out of the video, however we do recommend them for their various color options. Link is in the video descrip.
Hi Andre. We used to test fog-lights, but our recent lab setup has changed, so we discontinued the testing for now, but do plan to add fog-light testing back in the future!
They may work, but only the Morimoto's seem to work correctly for a DRL. It's a risk you can take to see how they perform or function. If they are going in your low-beam and they stay fully powered on, it may not be a big deal. However a high-beam is something you want to be careful with of course.
Diode Dynamics are made in the US if you want to check them out. China produces a lot of electronics, and it will depend more on QC (for example flagship smartphones are made in China with a high level of quality control). So there are a lot of great products, and not so great products.

Thanks guys, glad to hear it!
What's the product that you have
Mr. Paul
What brand & model LED’s were the ones you purchased?
What did you buy please tell me

Another great non-biased, info packed comparison video Blaise! Thank you for doing these tests and sharing what you have found!! Bulb facts is the best source for honest LED and forward lighting informations!!!
Thanks, glad to help and thanks for the support!!

Enjoy your videos. +1 on the Farhens. Installed a set of the $40 Amazon ones a couple weeks ago and I have to say they're great LEDS for the price. Bright and a really good beam pattern in my '19 Colorado.
Thanks for the support Josh, and glad to hear they are performing well 👍
I love the DDM Tuning 4500k edition.
Wow! ... you have done me an awesome service., there is so much on the market to choose from and you have made it easier by doing all the testing ... Thankyou!
Thanks for the support, glad to hear they have been helpful!
i have the prox v2s and they are insane. i try and turn them off as much as possible like if im sitting in a parking lot because they are just so bright. and when they are used in high beams, well i registered a street sign being illuminated by them OVER 2 MILES AWAY
Thank you for the reviews 👍 I haven’t seen any new videos for a while. Glad you are back!
Thanks for the support! Glad to be back, and I hope to bring some new content soon.
Just purchased the DDM PROx V2 55Watt,Very Happy with my purchase I had bought some beam tech from Amazon big difference with the new DMM
Thanks for sharing Jorge, glad to hear!
Every time I’m in the market for LED headlights, first thing I do is check your website. Our fleet has cougar motor flagship and katana headlights based on your recommendations. Thanks for the video!
Thanks Jon that's great to hear, and glad to help!
A test of the H4 variant would be really good to be honest. Most of the LEDs in H4 configuration have great low beam, but high beam sucks.
Thanks for the suggestion! We plan to test more dual-beam LEDs in the future.
Just want to second this request! Thank you for all the videos and info though BulbFacts!
Please test h4’s! Thanks
Commenting just to say how helpful your light bulb videos are!
Thanks J L for the support!
Do you plan to make a best of 2022 video or has this list not changed much
Hello, yes we actually had a new video planned, but cancelled it as we decided to include lifespan results as well, which seem to be changing the recommendations.
How do you install led in a 2014 Subaru outback?
The low beam bulb is sealed behind a cap.
What would you use in a 2004 GMC Savana 1500. LEDs The LEDs I installed 3 years ago looking dim and want brightest lights available - Thanks
Hi Paul, here are our latest recommendations; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/ - Go with the DDMs or a premium LED if you are looking for a longer liefspan.
do there come a video for best bulbs 2022.. i bought the DDM 55W accu/v2 after i saw your test:)
I hope to release some new videos this year, appreciate your support!

Do you have a recommendation for yellow/amber fog lights?
Hello, that's correct, you'll want a 9005 bulb size. So when looking in store or online, just be sure the size says 9005 fitment.
Great video. Do these work in halogen reflectors or should these be only for projectors?
Hi Chris, thanks! You can take a look at or latest recommendations for each category, as it will vary a bit; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/ - LEDs seem to perform well in reflectors, but additional glare is something that should be considered when selecting a very bright LED bulb.
can you install the 55w kit on OEM ballast? are there any adverse affect?
What kit are you referring to exactly, an HID conversion?
Best for h11 low beam

My van uses the an H11 is both the low and high beam (reflector). I see that you recommend the Fahren and Cougar for different uses. Which would you recommend if I wanted to use one brand for both applications?
You can go with either one for both. The Fahren's have a better beam, but the Cogar Motor's are a bit brighter overall.
@@BulbFacts thank you!!!
@@BulbFacts oh okay, thank you for your help!
Have you tried the new Hikari Titanova 2023? Other reviewers gave them high marks and wondering how they stack up
Hi rowankeltizar5961, we are currently testing some new products including the new Hikari LEDs, so we should have the results up soon!
I have an 06 Corolla which has its' lowbeam act as DRLs. Are there budget alternatives vs the Morimoto or should the Cougar suffice?
You'll want to stick with a DRL compatible LED, which the Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0's are. I haven't found any LEDs from Amazon etc that are truly designed for a DRL, but some seem to work in different vehicles, so it's a toss up.
I see that there is a 20000LM Katana LED available on Amazon now. Looks like a newer version of the Katana's you tested on your website, would you recommend this other Katana model or the model you tested (16000LM)??
Thanks for sharing! I just ordered their newer set and will be sure to test them out soon!
Just saw this comment, hopefully we get a 2023 review, as 2022 is almost over.
Best comprehensive headlight review channel.

Headlight Revolution tests all those. Look at their channel.
@@Nayr747 I'm skeptical of their testing because the retrofit source llc is the parent company of gtr lighting and headlight revolution. So it's possible they can manipulate the results to make their in house product look the best.

For the cougar motor bulbs, does it have to be the flagship series or are just the cougar motor bulbs good as well?
Hi Dillon, you'll want to look for the Flagship model specifically. Although their other models seem to do well too, like the X-Small model if you need something more compact.
Hi,
I'm looking to improve the lighting on my classic car which uses 7" rounds.
What would you recommend for a 2016 ram with a reflector headlight ? I want the brightest low beam ... I hear some brands have problems flickering ..
Hello, will the DDM Tuning SaberLED 55W Accu/V2 ProX Series - LED Forward Bulbs fit a 2019 Honda Odyssey? Do these need a decoder? Thanks
Normally Honda's do not need the decoder modules, but I would recommend it for your Odyssey as I believe they have a checks system in place.
Great video! Thanks
Thanks John for the support!

@@BulbFacts thank you!
@@jeffbmtb6993 you got it! I believe XenonDepot's kit is compatible as well, but I would double check with them first. I know the Morimoto's work well and are going to be the brightest option with the most accurate beam.
Hi, is it possible to test the Philips Ultinon essentiel gen 2 and include it into test chart on your website please ?
Are the Fahrens good for bi-projector bulbs?
I would go with an HID conversion for a bi-halogen projector application, otherwise the high-beam setting will suffer due to the design limitation of the LED.
@bulbfacts please help me. Which leds would be the best for my opel astra k projector headlight?
I would recommend an HID conversion first (www.bulbfacts.com/hid-kits/recommended/), and then a quality LED upgrade if you want to go LED (www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#hp ).
Great video but I think you forgot the part with the budget option for the stock color temp that you mentioned at 9:00.

Hi JBraaap, I would recommend the 55W V2 as they seem to be higher quality over the 50W V2 they offer. Both are great options though.
Can we please have a H4 bulb “shootout”. H4 is always hit or miss.
Hi Mohit, we don't currently test H4, but I do plan to do some rounds of additional sizes including H4 as it's the most popular requested dual-beam bulb type. Appreciate the recommendation!
hi BulbFacts, for projector headlights, is led better than hid now?
I wouldn't say better, but LED has become brighter than HID in certain models, specifically the DDM Tuning SaberLED ProX V2s. An HID is still recommended for the best beam possible, and in case you are running a bi-halogen setup.
So for the price range $90-$120 which would be best? Looking for recommendations for 2022 Hyundai kona uses 9005 bulb for low/high beam

The DDM ProX V2's are our top pick in a Kia projector; www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/recommended/#hp - Hope that helps!
thanks for your time . you really help me out .👍
@@joshdallaire3341 You got it!
Any opinion on Diode Dynamics SL1 in projectors?
No sorry, as they don't offer an H7 size, so we were unable to officially test in our headlight projectors. They are a great product made in the USA with a perfect beam pattern, but there are much brighter options if that is what you are looking for. If you have halogen projectors, I would recommend an HID conversion rather, or the DDM ProX V2s.
Are led headlights better than hid in projectors?
Typically an HID will be superior, however the DDM's mentioned in the video perform very well in a projector, even better than HID based on our tests.
Would you ever consider doing reviews/tutorials on turn signal/brakelight/backup light/switchback bulbs as well as relays and resistors?
Hi Lazarus Rex. Yes actually I have a number of smaller bulbs which I plan to test in the future. I'm hoping to have some new content later this year or early next year.
Can you please do a review of the X7Seven X-Apollo Series led bulbs?
Hi Neil, thanks for the suggestions. We'll add it to our list for future testing!
Any new reviews coming?
Hi Chris, thanks for your support. I hope to release a new LED video soon, as we have a number of new LED products currently in testing, and there may be some new product recommendations now! Thanks!
Dear friend, Are you interested in reviewing H11 led headlight bulbs or H07 led headlight bulbs?
Are you going to do a video - best LED's for 2022?
Hi paulchoi1461, I hope to do some new videos soon!
Which kit would you pick for a projector headlight, compared to stock halogen. Probably $45-$85
@@BulbFacts I ended up picking up auxito led, hopefully they are bright. The cougars were second on my list
@@JJ-gr7th no problem, let me know how they work out, and what vehicle you installed into as it would be helpful for others as well!
Please Can you review Apollo X7 & Bevinsee they claim to have the most lumens out of all other led kits.
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll look into them for testing!
Can you please make a Auxbeam F16 plus vs DDMT Saber Pro v2 vs GT-R Lighting Ultra2. I'm highly considering getting Auxbeam F16plus .
Would be nice to see the test and qualification of a HIKARI ACME x 20,000 Lms
Hi L N, we tested that model already. You can find it on our full test results chart; bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/
Can auto leds be run at 24 volts
You'll need an adapter at each bulb.
@@BulbFacts , is that an adapter to make 24 volts or drop it back to 12. I thought leds could run 12 to 35 or so.
@@jasomkovac9115 It'll depend on the LED brand so I would check with them first, otherwise you'll need something like this; amzn.to/3zhcKtP
Does anybody know if ddm tuning saberled prox 55w accu/v2 feet for 97-98 avalon?
Hello, I believe if you're looking for the size, it would be 9006 for your low beams.
Glad I stumbled across your channel. Is there ever a time where an LED just isn't a better option over incandescent OE bulbs? Maybe the reflective light design just isn't that great for LEDs? I am finding LEDs aren't working well for my daughter's 2010 Kia Forte
Also love to see comparison on fanless options.
I really miss reflectors with LED techmax compared to these proyectors with OSRAM HID
So, i watched your 2018 video, that said that HID was still better than LED in proyectors...but today?
In this video you show DDM, really really expensive D3S, excellent but unaffordable
And the budget kit (cougar motor) does not exist on D3S format...
So shoud i say bye to LEDs and better stick HID? :(
And what about HID, i looked on your webpage, and you recommend DDM again. But there are no, further options specially in this socket (D3S)
Would you say to stay with HID (DDM ultra) or do you know another LED brand tested that Builds D3S ? (amazon reviews are really uncertain on other brands compared to your reviews)
By the way...DDM HID light cut is as precise as OEM (i consider that really importat)?
@@BulbFacts As always, thank you for your complete answers and knowledge. I will go that way! Thanks again
Can you please review Nineo 2 Light Canon 110w
HI Oscar, thanks for the suggestion! We'll look into them for testing👍
The Forscher kit is not specifically listed on Amazon when searching the keyword.
Yes it's a common issue with these LED brands, they tend to confuse the model variants a lot. Here is what the model we tested looks like if that helps; bulbfacts.com/assets/img/mfr/71eEaDFxb-L._AC_SL1500_.jpg
Can you try out the “bts lighting alpha” they claim to be 65 watts per bulb and out-beat the competition at 160 a set
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll add them to our list for future testing!
You didn't mention Hikari at all. Which I've found to be the best
Hikari makes some great products, they just didn't make it into our video here. Still a recommended product though, but the gap was closed in by some other products.
Dont test g87?
Sorry we didn't have the proper size to do driving footage so we left them out of the video, however we do recommend them for their various color options. Link is in the video descrip.
Please review Hikari ACME-X
Hi Faisal, we have tested them already. You can find them listed under the mid-tier section (expanded); www.bulbfacts.com/led-kits/chart/
what about foglight?
Hi Andre. We used to test fog-lights, but our recent lab setup has changed, so we discontinued the testing for now, but do plan to add fog-light testing back in the future!
We need same Vidio for HID
Hi mapede1, I hope to put up some new videos this year.
Is ALLA good for DRL too?
They may work, but only the Morimoto's seem to work correctly for a DRL. It's a risk you can take to see how they perform or function. If they are going in your low-beam and they stay fully powered on, it may not be a big deal. However a high-beam is something you want to be careful with of course.
Is any of them not made in China?
Diode Dynamics are made in the US if you want to check them out. China produces a lot of electronics, and it will depend more on QC (for example flagship smartphones are made in China with a high level of quality control). So there are a lot of great products, and not so great products.
@@BulbFacts very much appreciated. Thank you!
keep it up
Thanks!
Fahren has much brighter LED bulbs now.
I’m mentioning Fahren Termitor.
Thanks, we'll be sure to take a look at them for testing!

So far Koomtoom is only brand on Amazon that offers 5000k LEDs, unless noted.
Thanks, we'll check them out! I always enjoy testing lower color temp LED bulbs, as most hover around 6000k and are too blue for some people.
