- Celeste it's known for it's berries which are one of the main collectibles in the game. There are quite a few different types of berry and collecting all 202 is a much harder task than most people realise.
This video will take a closer look at all the berries in the game, how you unlock them and how you collect them as well as some bits of trivia you may not know about.

another fun fact: if you collect 5 berries, and then collect the golden berry (1up with a golden berry), a special chime/gong sound effect is played
Not really its just the golden berry and one up sounds overlapping
@@pirilon78 not true, from one of the devs its a custom sound, and they stated the didnt make one for moon berry

When they say in the game that collecting the berries will impress your friends, I always thought of it as meaning your friends in real life, but I just realized that they're also talking about Madeline impressing her friends in the epilogue too, nice double meaning that i didn't notice until I saw this video :)
Small detail, if you have Farewell's golden berry as you go into the room you have to die in, the berry will actually leave your side and go to the end of the room, waiting for you to die before rejoining you (so you can get the golden & moon berries at the same time).
Also, if you have Farewell's golden berry (either route), there is an extra room after the last Badeline boost that you must complete before collecting it.
and that last room is evil because you cannot get to that last room without the golden berry, so you cant practice it unless you use debug mode
just use assist mode or variant mode grab the berry and cheat your way (AKA infinite dashes + invincibility) into the room @@dampseeker

Tip for the seeded berries: if you grab a seed and touch the ground but walk off shortly after you keep the seed. But if you jump you jump you still lose it.
another fun fact: if you get to the moon berry death room with the golden berry, the golden berry will separate from madeline allowing her to respawn

Ngl, I had no clue the winged golden berry or the moon berry existed until this video.
Technically seeded berries don't disappear immediately when you touch the ground. They only do if you either are on the ground for 9 frames or if you gain height while on the ground. So if you fall onto the floor and walk off the edge in less than 9 frames, you can touch the floor without losing the seeds which is quite silly i think

another fun fact: if you go to beat farewell with the golden berry then you get a last special room with a little green flag which is a homage to the PICO-8 version

It is pretty daunting. For what it's worth- goldens aren't generally considered part of completing the game 100%. Think of them as more of an easter egg or a postgame challenge

Maybe update this to have the farewell golden berry room, an extra challenge at the end of farewell only accessible if you have the golden berry

I believe that's a mod and not part of the actual game. I'll see if I can double check though
3:56 acording to the wiki you only need 201 berries for the badge
The golden berry badge I'm not sure about but the golden coloured ticket you do need 202. I know because I myself have 201 and no golden ticket

yeah that's fair. It's my first video of this type that I've done and the audio isn't right. I'll definitely fix them for future videos
