I successfully overclocked my 7600x to 5.275 GHz with a voltage of only 1.150v. While it does not maintain stability during Prime95 testing, it successfully completed a 30-minute Cinebench benchmark and I've had no issues during regular use. The testing process can be somewhat tedious, as it requires adjusting both the voltage and frequency, followed by a 10-minute Cinebench benchmark. If a crash occurs, it is necessary to modify the frequency and voltage settings again and repeat the 10-minute benchmark. This process must be repeated multiple times to identify the optimal settings. Additionally, it is essential to document the configurations and results in a spreadsheet. Although this procedure is time-consuming, I believe the effort is worthwhile.

If you’re using the temp target + negative curve optimizer (80-20) then around 80C is what you should be getting indeed! (And it’s safe) if you wanna get it lower you need to do a static core ratio + offset (I go very in depth in the Ryzen 9 7900X undervolting tutorial)
HI. I performed the first part of the tutorial (manual PBO 80 and Curve Optimizer -20... everything ok) but I wanted to understand the usefulness of the static voltage offset (48 and 1.20v). Could you explain to me why it's worth it? Thank you.
That’s a different setting, basically it gives you even lower temps and power consumption, it’s ideal for full load productivity and/or synthetic scenarios
Hi, in on MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI (MS-7D75) When we talk about undervolting, CPU Core Voltage (Auto) is at 1.460-ish, and I like to try 1.2V as you said. But when I click to change it the options I see are: Override Mode, Offset Mode, Override + Offset Mode, AMD Overclocking. Which option should I click to set the 1.2V? CPU is Ryzen 7 7700x.
When profile for 80c and -30 curve is set, cpu goes past the temp limit. Only when throttle limit under advanced cpu options is set does cpu stay under the predefined limit. This in turn makes pbo profile useless regarding temp limit. Have you tested this possibly?
Wait...doesn't the preset PBO just push more voltage to the cpu in order to overclock it? I don't think the default settings 1,2,3,4,5 have a negative sign, i.e. an undervolt. If so , won't this probably just increase consumption (and temps) and possibly fry the X3D chip?
Have you noticed by any chance, the CPU voltage exceeding 1.3V with none of these settings applied? You know, with out of the box settings, expo disabled and stuff. Has turning expo on made the CPU voltage exceed 1.3V?
@@yusefhusam I'm on my bios' latest non beta version. But I've kept expo off just to be safe as I've seen it increase SoC voltage. It's not that I'm missing out on much performance ( 4800mhz instead of 5200mhz ), so I'd rather just have a headache free experience 🙂
I have the same bios on, I got this pc just 2 weeks ago so I was extremely scared of the whole cpu soc thing and did a ton of research and after a while came to the conclusion that the cpu is actually indeed capped to max 1.3 and doesn't go above that more than 1.35 which is perfectly safe. I have expo on and everything so just take my word for it I was in the same boat. And if you want to just make sure so you feel better about it, turn it on and download the ryzen master program to see the soc voltages, you can do that as well with the HWiNFO program as well. I've been rendering and all kinds of things and thankfully everything is all good. Hope this helps. (also I'm scared of the card melting lmfao so I have double the headache)@@Capy-K

@ImWateringPSUs my best settings for a 7700X is 85/-15. Anything above(meaning -20.. -25) -15 crashes in Prime95. I gain 15W consumption reduction and +200 points in cinebench above base reference. It's a meh... but I'll take it 😀

Tested a few games too, and the FPS difference is between 1 and 2 FPS across the board (Which can be taken as fluctuation) Maybe for productivity tasks there is a real improvement, but for gaming, which is my current task, I didn't see any meaningful improvement Or maybe I just don't have enough thermal headroom (I have a ML360 ARGB V2)
so would 90 level 1 be more likely to be stable than 90 level 2 for example? should i go from 80 level 2 to 90 level 2 if it's stable? or should i go down to 80 level 3 for a performance increase? or 90 level 3?
90 , 80 , 70 stand for cpu max temp , level 1 , 2 ,3... stant for - 10 -20 -30 .... So you try out 80 ,lvl 2 if its stable go with lvl3 just like that until its not stable on the test if you get 80 level 4 its really good
Anyone could answer me something , i tried 70 level 3 and i found it very comfortable with temperature like 65-70max when i play games and my fps are the same as 80 level 3, but nobody suggest 70 lvl why?
I had a similar problem of heat hitting 90-95 but i had the aio bracket flipped inside out meaning not enough pressure on the cpu. Fixed that and now it sits about 80. Easy mistake to make so i wonder how many people have done the same and just think that 90+ is normal.
I'm building with liquid cooling for the first time and I bought a 7700x. Do you think it would reach these temps with water cooling? Or should I just go for something like 90 lvl 2 in my case?
I’m running the Lian li Galahad II LCD 360 mm aio with the 7700x with 6 fan intakes. Stock it was hitting 96 C. i have an important question: so 80 is the max temp the cpu is allowed to go to. you say level 2 is a "curve offset" but what is that curve controlling? voltage? and if i want to set a static voltage offset does it override PBO?
great video, i have one question: with clock ratio at 48 the cpu will always run at 4.8 GHz all cores. So it will not boost to like 5+ GHz. Doesn't the boost allows better performance instead of the static frequency?
That's a good point! The problem is that in sustained loads, especially during HEAVY loads, the core clock drops regardless! During an AVX workload it's rare to see it over 4.8! But that's why I recommend the static profille mostly for productivity

Agreed I would enjoy as well, I’m super new to all this
i got down to 44 from 84.....this is insane. Just for context, i did 1.2V & 4.8GHZ and I was playing dota2.
@@ImWateringPSUsdoes it affect performance when gaming?
Nope, they actually reduce the voltage by a said number of millivolt, it won't fry your chip if you follow the tutorial, rest assured!
Good evening, my friend! Can I make these same settings for my Ryzen 7700? Or would the settings for the 7700 have to be different?
Same exact settings :) Consider subscribing to the channel if they end up being helpful
Have you noticed by any chance, the CPU voltage exceeding 1.3V with none of these settings applied? You know, with out of the box settings, expo disabled and stuff.
Has turning expo on made the CPU voltage exceed 1.3V?
I actually haven't seen it exceeding 1.3!
@@ImWateringPSUs even with expo enabled?
Just make sure to update your bios or lock the soc voltage yourself, board manufacturers do that for you through the bios update@@Capy-K
You did a little mistake. GFX curve optimizer is for the integrated GPU and not the CPU. For setting the CPU offset you should go to curve optimizer and not the GFX curve optimizer.
That’s very true, this is the only tutorial of my AM5 series in which I misspoke, thanks for pointing it out!
I did a stress test on Cinebench with 80 Level 4. It was able to complete the test without crashing( it did crash on level C 5). Am I good to go?

what is the difference between curve optimizer and gfx curve optimizer? Why use GFX instead of non-GFX? You showed the GFX modified in your video which I believe is the curve for GPU in the processor.
You do need to use the non-GFX one, the GFX is indeed the curve for the iGPU. You can also undervolt that one to save even more power tho, to be fair
@ImWateringPSUs my best settings for a 7700X is 85/-15. Anything above(meaning -20.. -25) -15 crashes in Prime95.

Get liquid cooling
Am I the only one getting about the same score with all settings, except with PBO 90 Level 4?
PBO enhancement 70 lvl 1 + EXPO
PBO enhancement 80 lvl 1 + EXPO
PBO enhancement 90 lvl 1 + EXPO
No PBO enhancement + EXPO
All got me 18000-18500 score in R23 (except for 70 lvl 1 which gave me 17500)
PBO enhancement 90 lvl 4 (Highest that booted into windows, lvl5 won't boot) + EXPO gave me 19200
No PBO enhancement and no EXPO, gave me 18300
I honestly don't see the point on PBO enhancement and EXPO if I get the same score. Tested a few games too, and the FPS difference is between 1 and 2 FPS across the board (Which can be taken as fluctuation)
Maybe for productivity tasks there is a real improvement, but for gaming, which is my current task, I didn't see any meaningful improvement
Or maybe I just don't have enough thermal headroom (I have a ML360 ARGB V2)
so would 90 level 1 be more likely to be stable than 90 level 2 for example? should i go from 80 level 2 to 90 level 2 if it's stable? or should i go down to 80 level 3 for a performance increase? or 90 level 3?
90 , 80 , 70 stand for cpu max temp , level 1 , 2 ,3... stant for - 10 -20 -30 ....

Set the throttle temp to 85 and modified the curve optimizer to a magnitude of 30 negative and gfx curve optimizer to 15 as it was the most stable. Went from temps hitting 96 to cinebench, prime95 and cpu z stress test never exceeding past 62 C. Only downside I saw was the cinebench score. Went from 1101 at stock to 1091. I’m definitely gonna try to play with the settings a bit more especially with the voltages since when I tried to do a voltage offset with my settings my pc wouldn’t boot to windows and began trying to make repairs. Hope this gives you a baseline for when you do yours
