2024 Fall Blackfish begins in the western sound with tough conditions!

This was a windy one! I tried to find a window to fish the weekend opener for blackfish (tautog) in the Long Island Sound region but it was a challenge. I did have quick action at pretty much every spot I tried but the best size and quantity of fish was on a large rock pile in about 20' of water. The motorguide xi3 gps is ideal for this type of fishing and I decided to bow mount it this day due to the wind. Thankful to get out and looking forward to the rest of the season!
