The only reason I can’t leave Stockton behind is memories and friends, it’s so hard just to say bye to a house you have lived in as a child, and trying to leave your friends behind is like one of the hardest things ever. I’m trying to convince myself to just leave it all. I can’t do it. I need help.
We were never rich, just well off, my sons would climb up the bank of the Delta and watch the ships from all over the world come into the Port of Stockton, they would wave and the guys aboard the ships would wave back. I have always been very glad that the boys were able to witness this, they are men now but have never forgotten how excited they were seeing all those ships come in.
Shera Woodbury 😂💀 Stockton is not even an amazing place. everyone there is corrupt. on drugs, poor, or fucking delusional. Stockton can't even have nice events without someone messing it up. there's always fights and drivebys and gangs and killing. if Stockton is an awesome place, so is hell.
This guy must be one of the rich people who lives on the northwest side of Stockton. If you have money then sure Stockton's not that bad, but if your like most people here (northeast, east, and south side) then your struggling to find a job or struggling to put food on the table. and if your not one of those then your either born into a rich family or a drug dealer, or the least likely option your one of the very few who have found a good job that pays a family wage.
I've been to Stockton several times and always liked it. Gets very hot for most of the summer and I've heard there is a high crime rate due to the poverty in the area -- but I've never met anyone who was the victim of a theft. The Haggin Museum is the best museum between Sacramento and Los Angeles. Nice to see Boosterism is alive and well in Stockton!
Im from Brooklyn, NY born N raised & would have thought that Stockton would be all deserts or dry scrubland since its geographic position puts it in the Central Valley/area close to death valley which surprised me when he mention the major waterway systems. pretty cool facts to learn.
Ok let's be honest. There are bad places everywhere. I have lived in stockton for 15 years. As a cable man and as an appraiser so I have been EVERYWHERE in Stockton. There are ghetto areas. South/East area. Some areas in downtown are rough. Million dollar homes in Brookside with a world class golf course and country club. Riviera Cliffs and Morada East. Old money. Large houses and Morada has acre plus lots. Weston Ranch middle class. Spanos upper middle class. There are areas you don't have to lock your car or house. There are areas you better! I have lived in Ohio, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and Cali. There are pros and cons everywhere. Make up your own mind.
I don't get it ether, lived here my hole life with out problems from people, never had a problem finding a job, and no I don't live in brookside or even close.I always treat people good and I guess I get it in return.we have tons to do here but if you get sick of the same old stuff, anything you could ever want to do is only about an hour away. Love it here and really where doesn't have the same kind of problems we have? It's easy just don't leave your stuff out to be taken and don't go looking for trouble cause like the saying gos you'll find more then you bargained for and be nice to people and they will treat you the same way. Just like every place else! I mean for example, today my boss left the keys to his 2014 dodge pickup in the passenger door lock, for 3 hours parked in front of newberrys downtown. What happened? Not a thing! Man this towns bad lol
I'm sorry but this isn't a full depiction of Stockton either. Yes, the weather is nice in the winter. It's nice in most of California in the Winter. The average temp during the Summer is 100F, and often goes far beyond that. 100 degree weather isn't nice to most people. Stockton has nice areas and is close SF and Tahoe, true! But that doesn't make up for it's problems. Very high unemployment, horrible foreclosure rate, and the second highest crime rate in California after Oakland. Not to mention some of the worst air quality in the entire nation. In fact there is no other city outside of California with more toxic air.
This guy is right.Towns and cities all seem to have their pretty seedy bad side with gangs and foriegners and stuff. Most people just wanna live and let live.
Folks in Stockton really don't spend a lot of time walking around and hanging out at outdoor cafes. To dangerous. Good chance of getting shot or robbed.
If you don't Mess With the Wrong People Stockton is Not as People Try an Portray it to be Sure there,s Plenty of Crime not any Worse than other place I've Lived!
Stockton is horrible. I lived in Stockton for 40 years and finally moved. There are no nice places in Stockton; crime is high, poverty rate is high, etc. City hall is very corrupt and the new mayor Michael Tubbs is going to make it worse! So he's saying the weather makes Stockton great? Guess what? Most California has nice weather and it's has 1/5 the begging, homeless issue, crime, etc. Stockton is a terrible place to live. UOP host $200,000 to get a Bachelors Degree.
I've lived in stockton my whole life there's no work left here gangs and homeless everywhere you go tweakers all over the fucking place and i live in northwest stockton....I only hope i don't die here!
It just goes to show: If you're a rich white guy, it doesn't matter where you live, Everything is Awesome!

Finally someone with a positive view point about my city!

I've skied Kirkwood in the morning and golfed at Swenson on the same afternoon.
Stockton is an amazing place to live. I intend on moving back before the end of the year!!

Daveissa87 the IE has the worst air quality in california actually
What the fuck are ammands? That alone took me out of the running for a move to Stockton.
It's a nut. They are called "almonds" when on the tree and "amonds" when they fall to the ground because that drop knocks the "L" out of 'em...
This guy is right.Towns and cities all seem to have their pretty seedy bad side with gangs and foriegners and stuff. Most people just wanna live and let live.
its not Stockton, Stockton is actually a beautiful place, it the people in Stockton... i love Stockton born and raised
Yuup, they just look at the economy side and not the quality of life. Stockton Raised...
Forbes is dead right, and there is NO quality of anything here. Worst place I've ever lived in my life, and can't wait to get the hell out.
Good ridance
Folks in Stockton really don't spend a lot of time walking around and hanging out at outdoor cafes. To dangerous. Good chance of getting shot or robbed.
Straight up lie!
hold up bro, u forgot your camera.
But it did make me strong
stockton is not the nicest state you'd ever want if you are an introvert and not living as a middle-class.
Gangs, ghetto, drive by's garbage on the side of the road, graffiti , oh let's not forget the fact that's its bankrupt
If you don't Mess With the Wrong People Stockton is Not as People Try an Portray it to be Sure there,s Plenty of Crime not any Worse than other place I've Lived!
walk down the eastside and tell your story on cam
