All optional objectives really. There was a mission were you're supposed to kill your objectives using your assassins, but it fails you if they don't use the hidden blade and instead use a throwing knife or whatever, something that's completely out of your control, and of course, you have to restart the entire memory. I have a theory that they added the optional objectives at the last minute and didn't even bother to test them because they're ridiculous and super buggy compared to the ones in Black Flag and Rogue

So in the mission where you tail Micheletto the best course of action was to use an arrow strike to kill the guards at the bath house, because that's where your assassins would almost always throw their daggers.
if you beat up someone and drop their body down a well you dont get anything saying you will get desynchronize but if you drop them without them being unconscious it does say so. which means you technically kill people and its canon
In the Da Vinci DLC there's a guy you have to beat up. Killing him will fail the mission, but accidentally dropping his unconscious body in the river will not.
Not necessarily canon. You're also allowed to kill 2 civilians before getting d-synched, as you haven't deviated too much from what had happened in reality yet, but it doesn't mean that Ezio did actually kill those two right there. When you throw an unconscious person in a river, you could say they're *presumably* dead -- probably not enough to cause the Animus to get desynchronised. The way the rules of the Animus work is basically a way for Ubisoft to be allowed a few inconsistencies and glitches in the game lol
The best thing about pickpocketing in this game is sometimes you can hit a jackpot on some NPCs and get more than 900 florins. I got lucky when I was just randomly pickpocketing.
Bro I remember I did this “challenge” where I decided to steal the city of Rome by standing outside of the colosseum and pick pocketing people until I could afford to buy it, and then I did that (and also used the money I got from that) to eventually buy every property you could.
In Revelations the game doesn't desynchronize if you kill a lot of people with one attack... so Ezio didn't kill three people by stabbing, but he sure did kill fifteen people with a bomb

Plus, if you gently push a fisherman on the dock to the river/lake until he was fell into the water and drowned, it doesn't count as "killing civillians" and not causing desynchronization. Meaning, that it was also canon.
I still haven't found games with bare-handed melee combat that is as satisfying as Brotherhood. It goes beyond counter takedowns. There actually several combo finishers and the future AC games have good weapon combat, but the fist fights just lack that satisfying CRUNCH sound. Sometimes I would sneak up on guards and do that takedown where Ezio breaks their arm just to send a message to the Borgia.
i had to assassinate someone and he suddenly got flung up to the sky and fell to his death after 60 seconds of airtime. canon. historically accurate. not an animus bug.

its also canon that Ezio can blend into crowds of generically dressed 15th century peasents wearing a metal WWE belt, Chest and Shoulder armour, a crossbow AND the silkiest/cleanest white robes ever made.
In Revelations I liked to go out on a spree of pulling the legs of common people with the hook blade when I was passing just for the laughs, I suppose that was canon too XD
Brotherhood had absolutely the BEST gameplay. BUUUTTTTT, Brotherhood is where the modern backstory was murdered. It died with Lucy. Without Lucy, Desmond's story was derailed.
