Ive read to help the ticking to wrap the fuel pump with a sock of some kind to help absorb the "tick". on some of these units the pump is up against the housing which could cause the tick to resonate louder.

I guess what bothers me is that they advertise them as "no ticking" on Amazon and the video review I watched of a guy who does a lot of videos on diesel heaters kept hopping on the no ticking. But he is given units by the mfg and likely just shills what they want people to hear. We pay for our stuff and want them to be what they are advertised at.

This unit is very similar to a Vevor unit I purchased a month ago (November 2024). Your ticking is the same volume level as mine and speeds up or slows down according to the temp set point. I purchased a carbon monoxide tester and it maintains a 0 on the read out. I'm heating a 10 x 16 enclosed insulated porch off the back of my house.
My unit will trip on an over heating situation and give a error code on the display on high at around 65 degrees.
My unit has three temp ranges:
Low (1-3) - three green colored icons.
Medium (4-7) - four amber colored icons.
High (8-10) - three red colored icons.
It trips on all three reds (8-10) and two of the last two green (6-7) icons at around the 65 degree temps.
I just have to keep an eye on it and turn it down to around 5 when it gets to around 63 degrees.
I'm very happy with the heater.
    Nice video.

You are the second person to mention the Vevor units and are happy with them. Thanks for the comparison info. I have a 15amp fuse for mine. Is yours connected to a 10amp fuse setup? I wonder if that is why it is tripping at high levels.

Yes, it did come with a fuse, and I believe it is a 15 amp, but the over heating is, I believe, to be internal. I plan on calling Vevor to ask them what the overheating could be.
It will get my porch up to 80 degrees on setting 5, but will overheat at 6 or above. Can't wait to hear what the problem could be.

Good luck. I just setup my 2nd diesel heater to run using a 110ac to 12v adapter that is fused for 15a. You could always try that. I just posted the video up:

I recently watched a youtube video of someone testing out used motor oil and it didn't go well. I just looked up the video. ua-cam.com/video/KQopA8n7quU/v-deo.html
