    Some people have no etiquette when it comes to sharing the waterways. The ones who really annoy me are wake boats and jet ski's running back and forth near boat ramps making launching harder than it needs to be. Or tearing past an anchored vessel. On a lighter note, what a cracking way to start the year mate.

      Couldn't agree more !! 100% of it all avoidable with some common sense.

    I bet old mate cast out some pilchard pieces on a paternoster rig and then wondered why he didn't catch anything decent! At least he came in slowly. Happy New Year from NZ.

    Hey Fishingmad, I gave a freshwater/saltwater guide-book to a friend because he's new but I'd like anything too. So I was looking online for a Victorian Fishing Guide but couldn't really find anything that would have all the species of fresh and saltwater fish, as well as techniques and strategies to catch them. I was thinking while looking, if you had a book, I would very much prefer buying it over anyone else. Your advice is always understandable and articulate. A guide made by you would sell, and probably have very hot tips.
    You could probably extrapolate off the idea because you definitely would be smarter about it than I ever could. I would love to turn a guide-book into a scrapbook by glueing in pictures of my first species catches and add notes like rod setup and locations.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  Рік тому

      All of this information is readily available in the FishingMad Members area. Years and years of work documenting species guide it lists the recommended rods, reels, line, lures and plastics for each species, all the gear I use plus workshops, maps, reports, marks, giveaways and competitions. I'd really recommend you go and check it out. You can fins out more by visiting www.fishingmad.com.au/member hope that helps.

      Ideally jump on Facebook marketplace and see if you can find a 2nd hand hobie outback or native watercraft going cheap. They are super stable and will last. Otherwsie might be something like a K2F or baysports which are OK

    That guy that released that excellent snapper at 5.40 almost certainly killed it by sticking his fingers in its gills and handling it with bare hands. Use lip grips if you want to take it out of the water but don't handle them with your bare hands. And don't touch under the gillplate. You may as well eat them

      @@fishingmad My pleasure Alan. Your videos are always very informative and inspirational. I looks forward to them each day. BTW mate did you see the ad that was posted on Instagram which advertised a mod called Koala something or other. They were advertising a lure that mimicked a real life fish. It had several segments that made it look realistic. The manufacture was supposedly giving them away free of charge (for the cost of the postage) but I was reluctant to give them my details; as in my former life (prior to retirement) I was a Senior Forensic Investigator and worked on a lot of fraud matters. At the moment; I am making some of my own paddle tails using silicone (been checking out youtube on the subject). It is quite therapeutic. I am hoping to get out to Warneet in the near future. Take care mate.
