Great video. I may be buying a L99 2011 Camaro which aparently has had the computer "flashed" so it's now full time V8 and no V4 fuel saving anymore. Do they last ok having this done to them and is it a good idea?
I’ve personally had no idea since I’ve never had an L99 (6AT), only an LS3 (6MT). But on a somewhat unrelated note, I know I have a V6 Accord 6AT that uses VCM (variable cylinder management). It greatly reduces the stress on the hydraulic motor mounts, which are mainly used for the AT model cars. It of course eliminates fuel economy, in trade for more active power and throttle response. Some people have also had carbon buildup and other oil leak issues from the cylinder deactivation. But deactivating them solved MOST of those issues, but not all, as always..
Good work inst cheap work. I would have to say at least 10k because he took the trans and motor out. He said he took the block to a short block to they did a ton of work. It was probably also re ringed, bearings and all that good stuff. It was an old girl 94k. If it was mine and he was already in it I would’ve almost rebuilt it.

We do these conversions on l99's to make the valvetrain more reliable with bigger camshafts. The stock l99 lifters can't handle the increased valve spring pressure with the stiffer springs we install. The stiffer springs are required with the higher lift cam.

He’s running a ported throttle body a different manifold and his car doesn’t have vvt
Maybe because this car in the video has a different (edit-manifold) intake. Is your intake stock or the same as in the video

I disabled dod on my l99 and I’m at 235000 miles
Are you in Indiana? Definitely an indiana plate on it.
Maybe let your subscribers know the price for doing this. I too have l99 2013, with only 6700 miles. Very interested.
If you have parts 3400$
Great 👍 informative video Matt , what would be the invoice 🧾 estimate on a job like this sir?

What happens if you swap out the whole engine and put a full assemble ls3? Does it need a tune?
I'd like to know as well
If you’re going to do this keep the VVT
How much did this cost? I’m interested in going through you guys for this same conversion. Also have an auto with 94k miles
Me too I’m at 109,000
25k here l99

What are the cam specs?
How don't you have more sub's....
Lol. Not sure. Maybe I don't blow up enough stuff or not enough burnouts.
He just got another sub, only because I'm in the market for an l99 camaro and he popped up.
Where are you located at , im interested
Loves Park, Illinois
Is it worth swapping to ls3 ?

@@ApeMotorsports is the autos strong? Say for LSA blower or turbo on the stock block?
We have quite a few customers with 700whp on stock 6l80's still going strong after several years. It's all in the tuning.
