It should be noted that for how much accolade he gets, a lot of people at the time hated JFK. He barely got elected and won several key states on the slimmest of margins.

my great(?) grandfather (maybe even just paternal grandfather don’t quite remember) was high up in the boston longshoreman’s union back in the day. was close with the kennedys. they’ve def got a very sanitized image lol
The details we often forget as time goes on. Most of us only know John Kennedy for being president, his famous quote about what we can do for our country, and his assassination. It's really too bad they had an uniquely bad family dynamic between the affairs and the sister Rosemary who was pushed aside, to say the least.
It is too bad that most people just assume affairs are normal for politicians. It means the especially bad cases, like the Kennedy's, get ignored or pushed aside because we don't expect better from politicians.

Extramarital affairs are a private issue between husband and wife. You may think whatever you want of it, but it is not illegal nor a sign of misogyny (or misandry.)
It's indicative of some flaw. Like it or not, loyalty and integrity are shown in the lack of an affair. At the very least, respect. Maybe it was condoned by the spouse, some sort of open marriage, but in those situations there are power dynamics and factors at play. The point being that if you want your cake and eat it too, you may do the same with other aspects of your life. If you want to look a certain way but get the things that are counter to that appearance, you are not as trustworthy. But to me, the loyalty is the biggest issue.

As true as the varied beliefs and cultures can be, the excuse for an American Catholic is not really there. I'm super centralized in my statement because it's what I know. Of course I am spinning my own thoughts into it. You are doing the same. But JFK would have been raised on other beliefs, and actively dissociated from them to continue to work outside of his marriage to find happiness, or whatever it was.

I feel like JFK got stuck in a situation where his assassination was the best outcome for the bills he wanted to champion. Everyone hated him and Bobby, no one was taking a rich scrawny catholic kid from Boston seriously and none of the geriatrics in Congress thought he had the experience to make any meaningful difference. Aside from Vietnam, things honestly turned out better with LBJ. He was able to invoke the name of a man who had his brains blown out for everyone to see and say we must honor his legacy, normal Americans liked him because he worked for money and power himself plus he just had the vibe of a good, strong, old school American that gets it done. The Kennedy family is not all too different from the bush family. However, lets not act like this is exclusive to big powerful families such as this. Theres everyday families in america who do similar, heinous things for their own personal fulfilment, and if these families were to achieve the level of prowess as the kennedys have achieved, those stores would be far more implicit than these

Now i am biased but Jfk and bobby more often than not did the right things politically and lead in ways that inspired ppl to become involved w politics. These days id take that. Political Power continues to come from money, but at least they gave us practical peace seeking and progression in their politics and leadership. That era was unbelievable. it’s all unwrapped now. Trump also caught the tail end of it 😂 And let’s not forget jfk had what 3 years in office? And he walked right into a hornets nest! Jfk was on a good track and what happened once he was out was ugly - it sort of all went to shit. That says something and people realize it and hang onto that Camelot era
not related to this video in particular but just something I feel in general: the way you stare at the camera makes me slightly uncomfortable. Not trying to be negative, but perhaps try to be a bit more natural, maybe use your hands a little. Studies show that when you talk to someone you should look in their eyes between 1/3 and 2/3 of the total time of the conversation otherwise it becomes unnatural and uncomfortable. Other than that, cool videos. Keep it up 🙂

I really wish RFK got a chance to be President.. The chapter of (JFK, MLK, RFK's) assassinations were so impactful. A massive Turning Point in the outcome of our Country. Regardless of anyone's political beliefs, I think we can all agree on the fact we desperately need CHANGE right now. Things have become so unaffordable, dysfunctional. Our towns feel disconnected and hollow. Our systems aren't functioning efficiently. We need to adapt. We need ways to utilize our abilities so we can overcome important issues at the moment that they present themselves.. Currently we are lucky if we see change take place within a decade or 2.. It's the modern era, we need to change this prehistoric aspect to our government and to the way our nation conducts itself. State and federal government needs improvement.

The very end conclusion of the video aside this is really just a rehashing the classic gripes everyone has with the Kennedys. At least this one doesn’t try the “bootlegger” stuff that gets thrown around. The truth is the scandals are only well known because the family was beloved by the public not because they are especially heinous. Frankly I don’t give a shit about peoples private lives if their use of power and larger effect on the world was a good one. If this video was about how JFK and RFK weren’t necessarily the best and getting legislation through and how their aura is greater than their actual effectiveness then sure, but all this comes to is tabloid style nonsense. Like the seed of the Kennedy dynastic wealth (it wasn't _all_ sharp business on Wall St), and the fact that the British Government considered Joe Sr. not only a _defeatist_ but potentially a Nazi sympathizer. @@markowens6285 You know full well that had more stringent measures had been taken to control inflation, you'd be complaining about the consequences of that choice. Unfortunately, pretty much every adverse economic situation results in a poor outcome for those who are most vulnerable, regardless of what actions government takes. And, as someone else pointed out, CPI has been increasing in pretty much every place in the world. What the American administration is doing is trying to improve the parity with the WPI, which will negate the consequences of CPI increases without other adverse effects.

This is too harsh. Every family has secrets, mistakes, things to be ashamed of. The Kennedys tend to be better than most in terms of trying to be virtuous. The people we elevate as heroes are never perfect. When someone makes his best effort to embody virtue, humanity makes him a hero, highlighting his good features and downplaying the bad. This isn't because people are naive; it's to create examples of fulfilled ideals, with the promise that if anybody tries to live up to them, he too will be honored as heroes despite his flaws.
I think it's important to remember that one right doesn't solve your wrongs. The kenedy's did great things, but they ruined lives at the same time. We can't excuse these slights when they were every bit intentional
