UA-cam, with its unfortunate profit motive, is unable to be a platform for free speaking people’s to make a living by itself. Unless you appeal to the capitalist motive of advertising; it’s always going to be hobby-work. I’m glad he was here while he was able to say his piece. He’s a smart man.
I must say, the "12 Angry Men" series of videos are one of the best I watched on this platform. It really shaped the way I interact and empathise with people I disagree with, and I've found to have much more meaningful debates since then. Take care of yourself, and I sincerly thank you. Even if you don't come back on YT, I'm sure you'll find a place where your qualities will be appreciated. Now go out for a drink and chat with some people. While you're on holiday, why not try something new? :)
I also agree, I loved the series, I always refer to it and look at it for a great reference. The series was amazing, and I love it so very much. I will miss counter arguments and hope he comes back better than ever, I’ve always anticipated more videos and this is a great source of brain food.
Your videos about "Privilege", "Hate Speech", "Splaining" and "Islamophobia" are some of the most interesting content about these emerging political tribes I've ever watched on UA-cam. Your playlist on "12 Angry Men" is an excelent analysis, not only of the film per se, but also about our own approach to the difficult sport of clashing diferent perspectives and ideas between ourselves. And finally your "Pennsylvania Station" video is an original and endearing homage to a landmark sorely missed. I hope you I'll find some peace at your next project. For my part, I can only say thank you very much, C.A.!
You have to do what's right for you! I've enjoyed your channel for years but I completely understand burnout like this. I wish you luck on your break and thanks for your videos up to now! -Andrew
I was in high school when I found this channel, in the time in my life where I felt the most radicalized and angry. I wasn’t the most opinionated or informed person so people took advantage of my lack of confidence in my own knowledge to push me to there point of view. Your videos not only helped me see the nuance in certain issues but helped me realize what my own opinions were without having to rely on other people. I still come back to this channel and I sometimes expect it to be outdated but your nuanced point of view is so refreshing. I have accepted that you’ll most likely never come back but I hope you know that you gave me the confidence to debate and be curious and for that I will never forget you.
I don't usually leave comments, but I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work. I consider this to be one of best channels on youtube and for the last two years I've consistently enjoyed listening to you break down complex topics in a calm rational fashion. I'm really going to miss your videos, but at the end of day you need to do what you're passionate about and I completely respect your decision. All the best my friend, take care of yourself.
Hey man, don't feel bad about it. Take a break and if you're feeling it come back, and if not have a great life. Your videos have been great while you've been making them and they'll remain here as some top tier content on this website. Either way we wish you the best man.
You're doing the right thing here. I have seen UA-camrs go mental because they kept doing videos after they stopped enjoying it. It's aweful and no fun for neither viewers nor creator. I wish you the very best and I hope you spend your holiday not(!) constantly thinking about what you want to do with this channel. It's a holiday. Forget this channel for a little while. :)
“When the student is ready the teacher will appear. When the student is truly ready... The teacher will Disappear.” Thanks for everything you've done CA.
...this man is what encouraged me to think critically. maybe wasn't always perfect, but he is amazing and what he did was amazing. this is so sad, and you can see that he's in pain. arguing on topics like politics and religion is very important, but in my opinion, this is the video that has made me appreciate what he had done the most. this raw video of him just talking to us. in the name of everyone, thank you. we love you and we hope you feel better. we hope you succeed both mentally and financially and we hope that you'll be happy with what you do. we do hope that this will at least remain your side hobby (not now, but in a few months time), but if it doesn't, we'll completely understand. we appreciate what you have done so so much and we will miss you. farewell, soldier!
Wow I totally forgot about this channel until I searched for a review of 12 angry men. So many memories unlocked. Looking back I remember watching all your 12 angry men video's and other more political stuff.
As you can tell by reading the comment section, you are loved and will be missed ^^ to me, your videos have been lifeboats in this stormy ocean we call the internet. such a divisive world desperately needs teachers that show us how to properly exchange our thoughts. but teachers that shape the future, doctors that heal, mechanics that repair, they all need some rest. not just sleep for body and mind, not just an afternoon or a weekend of free time, but a true vacation. i hope that you enjoy your rest(take as long as you wish) and return some day, but if this is it then i understand. you have no obligations towards anyone but yourself! should this be my last time hearing from you, then i would like you to know, that you have shaped my life for the better. you have been a teacher to me and i hope to carry your knowledge forever in me. thank you for being you
As a 3-4 year long subscriber, I'm super depressed to see you go. But I understand. You said something along the lines of what you do was worthless and I must tell you that's simply not true. I love your work. I remember when you had a rut where you thought your videos weren't up to snuff, I commended you to my wife. I wish more content creators held your standards. I think you're too hard on yourself though, your content is great and you should feel great. I would suggest wheezy waiter's video on burnout. Either way though, thank you for you amazing videos and also your impeccable taste in music.
I find myself missing your perspective more and more. I feel alone, when I see people not keeping their heads above the water, being caught up in a tribal matter. Though I look, I've not found anyone else who analyses in a way that cares about everyone on each side - that tries to accentuate what works, what doesn't, and why. I still think about how you laughed at the end of the Baby It's Cold Outside cover, because you saw the trainwreck coming - that's me, with each new thing that doesn't matter but is made matter because it's thrown into our media cycle. I don't need more people to tell me to pick a side there, we need more people who can keep their head above it I'm not begging you to come back, but I do miss you. I'm glad your channel is still here. I'm glad our time has given you happiness, because you've given such to me
What you are doing takes courage. It's easy to skate by and pretend like nothing is wrong and keep making videos. Thank you for worrying about your own personal wellbeing. We enjoy your videos, but you are your biggest priority. If you return, we will welcome you back with open arms. If you don't, thank you for the wonderful memories that we have shared.
I was scared you were quitting for a second there. Listen man, you’re content is some of the most intelligent and most insightful on the platform. Throughout the years as my perspectives and opinions and positions changed, your channel has remained a constant. The lessons I learned from your analysis of 12 angry men have stayed with me till today. Your a legend man. Hope you have a well-deserves rest. Stay real. You will be missed.
@ Such a ridiculous statement. So he's not intelligent because he's not in one of the 3 careers you mention? Do you happen to be an engineer by any chance? Also, Faris said "some of" and was referring to content, so ofc not saying he's more intelligent than Elon Musk, but his content is up there for UA-cam standards.
@ Why do you have the need to discredit someone else's intelligence?
4 роки тому
@@monsieur_onion not necessarily but this idea "omg he says common sense or the idea isn't complicated so he's intelligent" is a slap in the face of actual intelligence
My god I went on a Counter Argument rabbit hole only to find that he's moved on. All the best dude :'(. I hope one day I can see an incarnate of your work somewhere.
Purging a lot of my inactive subscriptions right now. This one hurts, listened to all these videos a lot back in the day. I understand why you moved on though. Thanks for everything ❤️
I'll join in on the trend of posting supportive comments, cause this channel is worth it. I've effectively won arguments and changed the minds of some very stubborn people using some of your videos. Your arguments are easy to understand and are well researched, and that alone sets you apart from many other channels on this platform that do the same sort of thing. In my personal opinion, I'd say you're the best. I entirely understand how it feels to work on something passionately and then just... Stop caring. I've always bounced back, but everyone needs a break. You said you didn't want to be dramatic, but a channel of your quality and potential shutting down is kinda dramatic.
It's nice to revisit a video only to find my own comment with over 100 likes and pinned by the man himself. For real though, you're a good content creator and we miss you. If you've ever stopped to consider coming back, know that we will always be waiting.
Although if the channel was a "financial success" as he calls it, he may have felt obligated to keep making videos after he stopped enjoying it, which would have sucked.
At around ten minutes in, I was half expecting you to say "I need a holiday. A very long holiday. And I don't expect I shall return. In fact I mean not to."
I wish I could find more content creators like you. Nobody helped me like you to understand my own arguments, as well as my reasoning for those arguments and my feelings when I said them. Your videos helped me talk and dialogue correctly with other people, to become a much nicer person and actually get along with people I never thought I would. I recommended a lot of my friends your channel, and some of them agreed to watch your videos and they said it helped them as well. I know how hard UA-cam can be. The incessant editing that just goes on and on and on and nobody sees it, they only see the end result. The hard thinking about titles and descriptions and how to market yourself more. It's a chore, it's a huge mental strain that is always pestering you in the back of your mind. I know it's hard, so we all thank you as well for this amazing content you've created over the years. I'll keep working to get my little channel a bit more people, to become a platform to make other people stand out and shine in the spotlight. If you ever decide to come back, or you need some help with ideas, editing, maybe a collab, hit me up and I'll be ready to lend you a hand. Thank you again, for all your incredible videos and these incredible years.
The channel doesn't need to meet the demands of continuous videos in order to be something special. Its memory will always be special. If you come back, many would be happy. Ultimately, though, your wellbeing matters more. Hope you are well.
I want you to know that you've been one of the most eminent voices in recent online discourse, even if you aren't the most popular. I've learned a lot from your arguments, both about certain issues, as well as the art of argumentation itself, and value your commitment to keeping your work cogent, unbiased, and professional. Thanks for the amazing content. I hope this isn't the last we see of it, but I wish you the best all the same.
I have learned so much from your videos over the years, and if you decided to hang up the worker's cap and retire as a content creator, then I would terminate my membership with your channel a perfectly satisfied man. Thank you for sharing your endless supply of insight, thoughtfulness, humor, rationality, entertainment, and company with us. I am lucky to have gotten to know you as well as I did.
I'm halfway through, and you're reminding me of a principle I learned in a lot of different ways, but relate to The Sims: Fun is not optional. Neither is Rest. You can go without them for a time, but they are necessary components of life. Fun is not a luxury; it's a need that must be balanced alongside other needs. In The Sims, if your character is not getting enough Rest, they'll fall asleep at random times. If they're not getting enough Fun, they'll find it hard to stay on target with their goals, find it hard to get along with other people. Keeping those Fun and Rest meters topped up (or at least halfway full) keeps those needs from interfering with all the other things you need to do. Trying to push a sim to ignore those needs (work through the night, do "productive" things instead of enjoyable things) just leads to less efficient means of filling them (sleeping on a park bench instead of in a nice bed, which wastes more time for less benefit). In real life, you see college students burning themselves out trying to take too many classes and hold down a job at the same time and take on all these extras -- and they can handle it for a short time, we can certainly do that, but at some point they've run down their own stamina to the point where they just can't go on. And that's normal. You need to stop at some point and rest. Heck, if you look at the Bible text / Jewish scriptures, what's one of the very first things that God establishes in His commandments? "Every seventh day, take a break, for God's sake." He even had the Israelites take an entire *year* for a break now and then. And plenty of holidays to break things up now and then and remind people of basic principles of their faith. There's even expectations that if your neighbor can't manage to celebrate (e.g. doesn't have the money for booze), you help him do so. Taking some breaks and some holidays was not thought to be optional or luxuries, but important parts of life. As one tale puts it: A guy takes a job as a lumberjack and gets to sawing trees down. But pretty soon he notices that he's not making much headway, and he starts paying attention to this much older lumberjack who is always taking breaks, but seems to bring down trees much faster than the new guy. "How are you chopping down trees faster when you're always taking breaks?" he asks. "I'm not just taking breaks," the guy replies. "I'm sharpening my saw." There's a similar anecdote where the older guy says that the younger guy is just sawing and sawing and putting all his effort into it, whereas the older guy, "When I saws, I just saws." As in, don't wear yourself out doing more than you need to do -- at some point, it becomes counterproductive. So yes, take yourself a break. Get yourself back together, get your head back on straight. See what life is like when you don't have to meet the deadlines all the time. I managed two years of six uploads a week -- mostly stupid little Minecraft clips, a few videos of more substance -- and I completed that and then dropped down to an attempted one video a week, which quickly dropped to hiatus; I was through. And part of that was that I was focusing a lot more on my writing, and didn't have the energy to do both consistently. I don't think that my channel is over; I think it's merely on hiatus, and at some point I'll return to it, assuming the COPPA thing doesn't screw everything up. But even if I never go back to it, I think that I learned a lot from those two years, and I gained skill in editing both sound and audio, and in deciding what sort of things make good videos, and in sticking to a schedule. I think that I produced some content of quality, and did good things with the channel (including a bit of charity work). I think that those things are valuable even if the channel has already died. So you should know that even if you do decide that this channel is over, the content that you made mattered, and does matter, and it was useful to a lot of people, and enjoyable as well. I learned a lot, and I'm glad that you created this channel. And I gained a lot of respect for you right before your 12 Angry Men series, when you posted a video pointing out that you'd screwed up (attacking people rather than arguments), realized that you were on the wrong path, and course-corrected. And then you put together a series that was refreshing and eye-opening and educational beyond anything I'd expected (even coming from my favorite movie, I learned a lot!), and demonstrated your own standards for future content. I don't want to put you on a pedestal, but that was an incredible move, not only owning your own faults publicly, and taking steps to correct them, but also teaching *us* some principles to avoid such mistakes in future. And you really spoke to the humanity of the issue, instead of just the mechanical logic -- because debates really are about finding routes from human to human, not logic to logic. If you do come back, I shall be pleased to see it, whether you drop by for a few videos or come back for good. And if you go elsewhere, and make a name for yourself, I should like to know about it. And if you just vanish, I shall still be glad to have learned at your feet for a while, because it truly was worthwhile. Another thing, though (AFTER a good break): You might consider switching to a medium/format that takes less effort to put together. For example, it's generally easier to write than to record and edit the footage. Or you might drop the video and just try for a podcast, with minimal editing of the audio. You might try for a blog, like a Pillowfort account, where you can put out arguments of various sizes without having to stick to a specific format, and where you could also, as desired, include pictures/photos, audio, or video content -- without worrying about UA-cam's problems, at least (though monetizing your efforts might take more work). There are various media that might work better for you than video, at least for the moment.
I suppose I'll conduct the necessary ritual in these times, the one that perfectly encapsulates the emotions this sort of thing brings: *See you, space cowboy.*
He said at the end of the video to look elsewhere for good content like this. But there isn’t any other Chanel on UA-cam as great as this one. Rest In Peace Counter-Arguments

I would have liked to see his response with the phrase “Black Lives Matter” vs. “All Lives Matter”, because that seems to be a debate on what’s more unifying, especially at the time of this comment.
@@HamMontis Personally I see All Lives being more connective in a literal sense, but Black Lives does have an emotional impact for the topic to be centered on racism, so I guess we agree in someway (possibly).
@@speedshoes29 I don't think the conversation should be "Which statement/movement is more unifying" and should instead be "Is BLM correct in shutting down All Lives Matter?" Idk how to cohesively put this, so I'll just quote the common "Why does it have to be a competition?" sentiment you see online these days and say that ALM is making it a competition by reminding everyone of their existence whenever BLM tries to do the same. The correct response from ALM should've been to stand with BLM and reiterate that black lives matter as well. Ultimately, all I did in this comment was prop up a straw man and knock it down. If you want, you could probably extrapolate from this and say that "BLM is more unifying, given the current situation" with the caveat that "ALM would be more unifying if the situation was different" but that's like saying "Gassing jews is ok in some situations, but not ok in others".
Notnilc That’s probably a better way to put it. Not to put anyone down and this might be , but I don’t want “Black Lives Matter” to be the new “Girl Power” that can get tiring and annoying the more times it’s advocated. It’s good to have connective pride, but I wouldn’t like it to shove off a more inclusive statements. To be honest, the idea came to me during Nickelodeon’s 45 minute special with Alicia Keys which mentioned All Lives Matter, which advocates were against. Their reason was because it builds a delusion or falsehood where everyone is equal.
Hey man, look, You’re one of the few UA-camrs I have the utmost respect for. You have produced some of the most reliable high quality videos I have seen that have changed my own way of thinking to be more critical of not only others beliefs, but my own. You’re a smart guy, I have no doubt you are making the best decision for yourself. Whether you come back or not, there’s no doubt that this break and this change is necessary. Even if you don’t come back, like you mentioned, you do have somewhat of a legacy that is stored online forever that you can look fondly back on with pride. Always prioritize your own well being, in the long run ;), to that of your business. I thank you for everything, and wish you the best, Mr. Counter Arguments
Hey man, I just wanted to say a big thank you for doing this channel. I have rewatched your series on 12 Angry Men four or five times now. I appreciate your careful, nuanced, and intentional approach, and it definitely made an impact on my thinking. I hope you are doing well, and I hope you know that you have impacted people like me positively. Thank you
Just about cried at the end of this. I really look up to the figure behind this channel, and I owe him a tremendous amount. Find something that makes you happy. Neither you nor your words will be forgotten. Be proud. Thank you.
"As Counter Argument was about to shut off the light for (possibly) the last time, looked at the things he had made. He felt something tug at his heartstrings along with a slight longing to continue, just so he could feel the joy a bit longer. However, he knew he had to stop. The ambition that had driven him this far, were running out. He turned off the light, but the room remained dimly lit. As he looked at his videos, as the smiles of thousands of people who had enjoyed HIS content, caused them to give off a small and warm light. He smiled to himself as he closed the door, appeased by the fact that if he didn't return, the legacy he left would keep helping people become better at communicating." I hope you like my little story Counter Argument. Your videos has helped me become better at looking at others perspectives, and i always looked forward to the next upload. I feel kind of sad since i have been with the channel from the beginning, but i also understand that all good things will eventually have to end. I still hope you will return one day. Thank you for your hard work over the years and happy holiday :D
What makes the videos on your channel so great, at least for me, is how rewatchable they are. You want to watch them again because you want to make sure you can understand the concepts presented correctly, whenever the need for it arises. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this.
" Is it terrifying?" "No. I don't think so. It's the way it is, you know? Everything must come to an end, the drip finally stops." "See you on the other side." " Oh, Bojack, no, there is no other side."
It’s nearly 2022 and I haven’t found a channel that does the same thing from such a neutral and well presented way. I really hope someone can pick up the torch
I remember watching this eleven months ago and sobbing because I realized it would probably be a long time before I could find equally rewarding content on youtube after you'd gone. Unfortunately, that was a good assumption to make, I'm still searching. But I also cried because I thought you were making the wrong decision in stepping away. You have such rhetorical power. I remember when I first clicked on the Penn Station video, thinking it would be unlike your previous ones in that it would fail to make me understand your point of view and strengthen my belief in unrelenting material progress. Lo and behold it moved me in a way I can't describe, I still feel how I did the first time whenever I rewatch it. To me it's clear why I felt this way. In addition to making well trimmed and thoughtful arguments, you clearly poured your heart into your work. But I guess it's also for that reason that I finally understand your need to move on. Thank you for your work, I hope you find the next best thing to chase.
It is 2022 if you are felling well and in good state of mind then by coming back now you will do a good service to this society There are many commentator in UA-cam but no one is doing what you had done and the way you have done. Please come back if it is possible
Man, you're awesome. You got me into commentary, you "initiated" me into this realm. I appreciate you for that. And about taking breaks, as a small content creator I run into the same problems with lack of motivation and running out of passion for a project. Good luck in the future and thanks.
I have nothing to say except, Thank You. I have learned so much from your Videos. And I just hope you will find what you really like doing if it is youtube or not. Once again. Thank You. Thank you for all the great arguments. Thank you for always making high quality content.Thank You!
this will probably get lost in the sea of comments but I just want to wholeheartedly thank you. Your videos about the 12 angry man were the first ones I watched and also the sole reason I watched that movie and needless to say, it was a blast. Not only was it one of the finest movies I've yet to watch, but it also broke my prejudges about black-and-white movies and most importantly of all sparked many hours of discussions amongst my friends and me which were sadly the last of the fond memories we had together before this pandemic nonsense came hurling at us
Thanks for all the great content and actually presenting some matters and discussions in a fun way, even though would never think they could be fun considering their nature. I completely understand and agree, I just hope whatever you choose to do pays off in whatever you need regardless of whether you'll come back to the channel or not. In whatever irrelevant amount, I'm a better man because of you. Wish you all the best.
i miss your videos dude. you were an oasis of reason on the internet, and with the way things are now i kinda wish id see your videos on my feed again.

Especially working alone its easy to feel that dreamchasing fall into routine, running the treadmill I know that I will miss you, I always have any time between uploads from you. And whether you come back soon or not at all, I hope you know how much you are appreciated and I wish nothing but the best for you Thank you for sticking around as long as you have, and for opening up to us. I wish you well, and hope you have a great holiday! :)
I know im a little late to the party so i dont know if you'll see this, but i just need to say this. Thank you For all that this channel has done in sharing, explaining, and creating logical counter arguments to different arguments made in by the media, the press, and politicians. In many ways this channel has made me the logically based man i am today. While i hope someday that you come back, i understand the requirement you have for needing a break and a rest, and if you should find that this is no longer something you wish to do, then it is in all of our best interests for you not to do so. However, if one day, you do wish to return to this, whether it is tomorrow, or 2 decades from now, know that i will be here, subscribed, as long as i can.
I came back to this channel after not hearing from it for a while. I never subscribed, just clicked recommended videos that sounded interesting. They usually were, so it's disappointing your UA-cam dream didn't materialize. You deserve a big platform to spread the value of well-formed thoughts.
I'm watching you in August of 2020 from Europe. You at this channel helped me to understand how to analyze speeches and statements and what is important in debate and what should be aim of debate. Thank you for all that work you've done!
I only just found your channel 11 months later. I've only listened to a few of your videos but I'm excited to binge watch all of them this weekend. Thank you for everything you have done. Just from what little I've seen, you are a light on humanity and I hope you bring that where ever you go.

And finally your "Pennsylvania Station" video is an original and endearing homage to a landmark sorely missed.
I hope you I'll find some peace at your next project.
For my part, I can only say thank you very much, C.A.!

I'm so sad that I have discovered this challenge after it already end.
All the best my friend, take care of yourself.

...this man is what encouraged me to think critically. maybe wasn't always perfect, but he is amazing and what he did was amazing. this is so sad, and you can see that he's in pain. arguing on topics like politics and religion is very important, but in my opinion, this is the video that has made me appreciate what he had done the most. this raw video of him just talking to us. in the name of everyone, thank you. we love you and we hope you feel better. we hope you succeed both mentally and financially and we hope that you'll be happy with what you do. we do hope that this will at least remain your side hobby (not now, but in a few months time), but if it doesn't, we'll completely understand. we appreciate what you have done so so much and we will miss you. farewell, soldier!
Wow I totally forgot about this channel until I searched for a review of 12 angry men. So many memories unlocked. Looking back I remember watching all your 12 angry men video's and other more political stuff.
I fully support this channel’s decision to take a break, but I cant be the only one thinking we need him now more than ever 😰
As you can tell by reading the comment section, you are loved and will be missed ^^
to me, your videos have been lifeboats in this stormy ocean we call the internet. such a divisive world desperately needs teachers that show us how to properly exchange our thoughts. but teachers that shape the future, doctors that heal, mechanics that repair, they all need some rest. not just sleep for body and mind, not just an afternoon or a weekend of free time, but a true vacation.
i hope that you enjoy your rest(take as long as you wish) and return some day, but if this is it then i understand. you have no obligations towards anyone but yourself!
should this be my last time hearing from you, then i would like you to know, that you have shaped my life for the better. you have been a teacher to me and i hope to carry your knowledge forever in me.

As a 3-4 year long subscriber, I'm super depressed to see you go. But I understand. You said something along the lines of what you do was worthless and I must tell you that's simply not true. I don't need more people to tell me to pick a side there, we need more people who can keep their head above it
I'm not begging you to come back, but I do miss you. I'm glad your channel is still here. I'm glad our time has given you happiness, because you've given such to me
What you are doing takes courage. It's easy to skate by and pretend like nothing is wrong and keep making videos. Thank you for worrying about your own personal wellbeing.

Thanks for the amazing content. I hope this isn't the last we see of it, but I wish you the best all the same.

I'm halfway through, and you're reminding me of a principle I learned in a lot of different ways, but relate to The Sims:
Fun is not optional.
As one tale puts it:
A guy takes a job as a lumberjack and gets to sawing trees down.
"I'm sharpening my saw."
There's a similar anecdote where the older guy says that the younger guy is just sawing and sawing and putting all his effort into it, whereas the older guy, "When I saws, I just saws." As in, don't wear yourself out doing more than you need to do -- at some point, it becomes counterproductive.
I'm just leaving a comment so this becomes more likely to appear at the top of the comments section.

I would have liked to see his response with the phrase “Black Lives Matter” vs. “All Lives Matter”, because that seems to be a debate on what’s more unifying, especially at the time of this comment.
In my opinion both can be unifying in their own way
@@HamMontis Personally I see All Lives being more connective in a literal sense, but Black Lives does have an emotional impact for the topic to be centered on racism, so I guess we agree in someway (possibly).
@@speedshoes29 I don't think the conversation should be "Which statement/movement is more unifying" and should instead be "Is BLM correct in shutting down All Lives Matter?"
Idk how to cohesively put this, so I'll just quote the common "Why does it have to be a competition?" sentiment you see online these days and say that ALM is making it a competition by reminding everyone of their existence whenever BLM tries to do the same.
It’s CBLM or better ABLM not the ones that are politicized

"As Counter Argument was about to shut off the light for (possibly) the last time, looked at the things he had made. He felt something tug at his heartstrings along with a slight longing to continue, just so he could feel the joy a bit longer. However, he knew he had to stop. The ambition that had driven him this far, were running out. He turned off the light, but the room remained dimly lit. As he looked at his videos, as the smiles of thousands of people who had enjoyed HIS content, caused them to give off a small and warm light. He smiled to himself as he closed the door, appeased by the fact that if he didn't return, the legacy he left would keep helping people become better at communicating."
I hope you like my little story Counter Argument. Your videos has helped me become better at looking at others perspectives, and i always looked forward to the next upload. What makes the videos on your channel so great, at least for me, is how rewatchable they are. You want to watch them again because you want to make sure you can understand the concepts presented correctly, whenever the need for it arises. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Not only was it one of the finest movies I've yet to watch, but it also broke my prejudges about black-and-white movies and most importantly of all sparked many hours of discussions amongst my friends and me which were sadly the last of the fond memories we had together before this pandemic nonsense came hurling at us
Sam O' Nella just returned. Hopefully this gives you the same idea.
I still comeback to this video and cry
he said he "had to," and i think we all interpreted it wrong. what if he was at gunpoint for 5 years? not ruling out the possibility.
i miss your videos dude. you were an oasis of reason on the internet, and with the way things are now i kinda wish id see your videos on my feed again.
I'm sorry to hear you've felt unmotivated. You've meant a lot to me in a time I wasnt doing well myself, chasing that dream. Especially working alone its easy to feel that dreamchasing fall into routine, running the treadmill
I know that I will miss you, I always have any time between uploads from you. And whether you come back soon or not at all, I hope you know how much you are appreciated and I wish nothing but the best for you
Thank you for sticking around as long as you have, and for opening up to us. I wish you well, and hope you have a great holiday! :)
I know im a little late to the party so i dont know if you'll see this, but i just need to say this.
Thank you
For all that this channel has done in sharing, explaining, and creating logical counter arguments to different arguments made in by the media, the press, and politicians.
I wonder if he ever reads the comments on this video
he reads some you can see he tags that he responded to them
Your video about how to change someone's mind totally chenged how I debated. Looking back at it, I think it shaped my life a bit
As soon as counter arguments disappeared it all went wrong
The best channel on youtube that restored hope in humanity.
I came back to this channel after not hearing from it for a while. I never subscribed, just clicked recommended videos that sounded interesting. They usually were, so it's disappointing your UA-cam dream didn't materialize. You deserve a big platform to spread the value of well-formed thoughts.
I miss this channel.
I'm watching you in August of 2020 from Europe. You at this channel helped me to understand how to analyze speeches and statements and what is important in debate and what should be aim of debate. Thank you for all that work you've done!
Three years, fingers still crossed.
*Counter Arguments ends*
The world:
-Pandemic
-A president who can't finish a sentence
-Border crisis
-UK scandals
Looks like he found something better out there in the real world
I only just found your channel 11 months later. I've only listened to a few of your videos but I'm excited to binge watch all of them this weekend. Thank you for everything you have done. Just from what little I've seen, you are a light on humanity and I hope you bring that where ever you go.
