Really funny the Minecraft Movie trailer was posted the same day I uploaded this.
he he ha ha ;)
At least pokemon works farrrrr better than Minecraft
i... am steve
Agreed Origins was perfect we don't need another telling of red butt in live action. Make a brand new character and give them the new generation Pokemon before it comes out in the newer games
I think the idea of oak growing up to create the pokedex sounds good fun. Like watching him learn as kanto gets developed would be an interesting origin before pokemon red takes place
OHHH! Yeah, that’d be a good idea for something new! 🤔
I remember there was a rom hack concept like that. I don’t think it ever got made but I remember seeing art for it.
That's genius
@@GatorEX they should have given us detective pikachu 2 movie
Netflix is basically the new home for Pokémon with the stop motion series and Horizons
Yep, they were the ones who snagged the deal and… I’m still not too sure how I feel about it. 🫤
@@GatorEX well so far the content is good at the moment
Unless you live the in the UK, then it's Horizons and (for now) almost the entire Pokémon Anime backlog on BBC iPlayer, and then the classic Pokémon anime (although only some of the episodes, not the entire season), Journeys, Horizons and the Live Action Show (if it actually makes it).
Which is a shame
@@neuromancer692 I wouldn’t say that unless you don’t have Netflix
I'd go with the anthology route, making each episode their own self-contained story focusing on a different part of the world. One could be about a rookie Pokemon ranger learning to make loops and work with Pokemon to save lives. Another could focus on a day in the life of a gym leader, culminating in a big battle. And so on and so forth.
Pokemon Generations and Twilight Wings already did this though
I would be down for a mystery dungeon pokemon series
I hope the protagonist is not Red or Ash since the anime he retired so it'd weird to see his journey again after his last episode.
I hope instead of legendary Red or Ash, we get to see a Normal trainer's Journey, how he perceive the world and how he overcome it all. And having an Average Trainer's story we could relate to him more because he's just like ordinary as the audience. How he became from average trainer to greatest trainer of all would be awesome to see
It’s red I believe
It's Red
"And having an Average Trainer's story we could relate to him more because he's just like ordinary as the audience." They might as well make a series about a character who gets stuck in a game 🙄
Red and Ash are both the exact character you're describing
@@Hewer86not exactly
I completely forgot about this until now
Same
I completely forgot that the Pokémon live action series was a thing
Should get Jim Henson's Creature Shop to bring the Pokemon to life with practical effects.
Absolutely not. I love Henson puppets, but it would severely limit the motion and abilities of Pokémon which are supposed to be lively and animated, especially during battles. It wouldn't work very well in this situation.
If I remember correctly, for the Dark Crystal prequel on Netflix, they used a mix of classic puppetry and CGI to further enhance their movement and expressive options (seeing the gelflings having far more expressions thanks to CGI was actually what convinced them of using it)
So it could technically work, but you'd probably need so much CGI to make it convincing that, you might as well use 100% CGI
Concierge needs to win an Emmy
Grace Randolph aka Beyond the Trailer, has continuously reported both Nintendo and Game freak are very impressed with the test footage they’ve seen and that it’s the best CGI Netflix has ever made.
She has yet to make a video about it but she has said it in several of her livestreams, and she has very good reliable sources in the industry for these sort of things.
They also approved BDSP, which was horrendous. I don’t trust their opinions.
@@braydenleaderofthetirkins1143why are u comparing a small budget game to a big budget tv show?
It’s completely different
@@braydenleaderofthetirkins1143clearly bdsp tried something different
Bdsp is misunderstood it may not have had platinum content but it did add it’s own new stuff like expanded underground, updated qol, modern type chart, modern movepool, ramanas park etc and it’s got wholesome vibes
Also Ilca is more experienced now
It was loved by the mainstream casual audience
The more hardcore fans may not have liked it but they weren’t the target audience
The game was designed to be an approachable game for beginner players so they had to make it look as cute and as welcoming as possible hence the chibi appearance
Bdsp added more new content than platinum tho
It’s got the up to date type chart as well as the move pools
It completely overhauled the underground
It gave us the hardest elite four and champion out of any pokemon game
We got ramanas park
It’s got clothing customization as well
It removed the hassle of HMs
It’s way faster not slow anymore
How are all these new things not considered definitive
Sure platinum added its own stuff but to say bdsp didn’t add anything when it added a lot is pretty disingenuous
Would be crazy if they somehow adapted the manga, doubt it though.
Which one?
Oh my gosh, I'd love this so much! Taking a lot of the realistic and horrific aspects of the manga and giving a more adult themed movie.
@@fyrex7797 Ok, which manga? Everyone seems to default to Pokespe for some reason despite there being dozens and dozens of them. And Pokespe is still aimed at kids so idk where everyone gets this "for adults" illusion from.
@@BJGvideos and? It is still good and way darker than the anime and the games.
@@BJGvideosof course Pokémon Adventures, it is the best one and it is the best adaptation of the games BY FAR.
i dont care how good the show is, if it ends with red looking up at mount silver, then fading to a black screen with "Three years later..." and gold stepping into view at the peek of the mountain im watching it
THIS JUNKS GONNA BE EITHER HORRIBLE LIKE THE BORDERLANDS FILM OR ACTUAL PEAK LIKE DETECTIVE PIKACHU
It’ll be fine tpc is involved
the detective pikachu sequel is still in the works i know legendary won't let go something big like Pokemon
but when we do get that sequel i can bet Justin smith won't come back and they will recast Tim
because you know............. lets not forget that film he was in and the stuff he also said if you know what i mean
There's only so many times you can tell the Gen 1/Red story and by this point, it's been pretty played out over the past 30 years. Also the original story feels very dated. Hot take - adapt another spinoff series like Pokemon Snap as the basis. Pokemon are best when viewed in nature!
It’s confirmed it’s adapting red although not sure if it’ll adapt the red from Dp or a new red with a new continuity
Detective pikachu is 5 years old!!!! Fuck i feel old 😞
From what I heard, the story would focus on Red, especially with how the anime disregarded the actual protagonists for an oc
Whatever happened to the live action series we already had about a young woman learnig to connect with others via her old Pokémon games? Why hasn't that come out internationally yet? Surely they could have worked on subtitles a frickin year ago and we'd have it by now.
Also, imagine. Live action Colosseum. How awesome would that be?
That would still be the same thing
@@uzairkhan7166 No this came out last year
That’s still a thing it’s Japan exclusive
I second the live action Colosseum idea. Or heck even a prequel in the days before Wes betrayed team Snagem using Eevees as at this point it's practically a secondary mascot for pokemon as a way to show that they don't need pikachu involved their show, though it's using another mascot but whatever.
@@madnessarcade7447 Right and I'm saying it should have gotten a subtitled international version by now.
A Giovanni show would be cool about when he was young.
We do have a bit of information about his youth. In How I Became A Pokémon Card, there's a story about him finding an injured Persian as a child and saving it from people who try to steal it. How he became exactly the sort of person he fought against would make a fascinating story.
I would love to see a series about one of the champions and their journey to the league.
The creator has a good track record of shows so far he made Lucifer and with TPC’s involvement it’ll be fine
A Hoenn or Alola based movie would be awesome, Hoenn due to its Groudon V Kyoger would be awesome in live action! And Alola since its story is one of the best
GatorEX, Subscribed because your videos always make me smile!
This is really cool, but I wish that this wasn’t gonna be set in Kanto. I don’t have a problem with the Kanto region, it’s just that we’ve been there too many times. I think going to a different region like Sinnoh, Hoenn, or even Unova would have been a little bit better
3:09 it’ll be red’s story but I think it’ll still do something different
Joe Henderson is doing it and he made the lucifer show and made a lot of changes from the comics
“In the works?” I didn’t know it was happening!
Good grief, don’t know how I feel about that. Detective Pikachu was fun but I don’t know if we can do this again, especially on a TV budget. This seems unnecessary.
Also, I don’t see why people are interested in an adaptation of the original anime, Pokémon is big enough that all it needs is just more original stories.
Ngl am so hyped for this and can't wait for it to come up, just would love to see more attempt at an live action adaption of this very famous franchise again, but yeah overall this was a really good video as always
3:41 I’m tired of everyone expecting “the same charm”
Why can’t we Let them try to make a new charm
4:30 SQUIDWARD!!!
Remember in detective pikachu returns the movie is also a in universe movie
Dude. Imgine live action smt series
I bet we will see Ash Ketchum get a live Action Makeup in the Pokemon Live Action Series to retell Ash Ketchum 's Story from the Pokemon Anime Series and we will see all the Anime Characters in there including Team Rocket !!!
Pokémon Concierge is the best thing since the original anime by Takeshi Shudo
They might as well make it take place in Unova or Alola. If it’s set in the Japanese based regions, most of the characters have to be East Asian.
2:02 Small point but to be fair, that back when detective Pikachu came out, that wasn't a hard title to achieve. It's best competition was the Super Mario movie, *the original one.*
But anyway I am interested to see what they will do and hope it has a unique spin on the Pokemon world.
The original Mario movie was a Japan-exclusive animated one done years before the live action movie
for a Nintendo movie it was, but there were several dozen video game movies already out including most of the biggest franchises ever: Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, etc.
It’s fine, the bar got set so low this year there’s no way it can get any worse…
Right?
Flames of Disaster mentioned 🔥
Do you think the Pokémon will all be CGI (Like Detective Pikachu), or Animatronics/Puppetry?
Honestly we don’t really see red that much compared to other characters in terms of his story so I don’t mind more red lore
He comes back in cameos but nothing massive
It's either going to be peak (like detective pikachu) or really.. really bad.
All in! (Praying for peak)
Tpc is involved it’ll be fine
I swear to this day, last year, around June I heard that they were working on a detective Pikachu 2, I swear I remember
I swear to go me too! Like what happened 😭
Praying for an Adventures adaptation
When you mentioned Stranger Things, it brought me back to the idea of how people where interested in DnD which got featured in the show. I saw a box set in one of my local stores specifically inspired by Stranger Things.
Why not the Pokemon TCG then? I know people have EVEN fonder memories of their playground trading and such! (I unfortunately didn't grow up with Pokemon TCG but rather Duel Masters which didn't hit nearly as hard).
Maybe do The Mario Movie treatment of it all and have the main cast trade cards and then mysteriously find themselves in the actual Pokemon world? Already done, maybe, but a bit more solid in terms of both new AND familiar, a good middleground to somewhat alliviate the issue you proposed with the story!
Kanto would look so good in live action tbh
Well, detective pikachu worked
So I'm sure this could work too
Live action an Netflix DO NOT belong in the same sentence. Period.
One piece was pretty good.
“You can watch great live action shows on Netflix like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.”
Well tpc is involved so relax
Thats to instill the false hope in you. For every 1 gold theres 100 pieces of trash, We got lucky on one piece because the creator was involved in some way. COD is a great example of instill false hope. This game sucks yeah but last year was good. That last year is good will lead someone to believe the next might be good. Don't fall for the trap observe the patterns and wait for the results don't be a fool and buy into trailer/announcement hype the past 10 years should have shown you not do do that.
I need Tom Ellis as Giovanni
I will love if they do the mainline series in live action with red but you know what should they do they have every mainline character in every series region in live action like the way they have ash travel in every region they should put every character like red travel in Kanto and gold travel in Johto
I really hope they go for an original story as well, and potentially an original region or at least one that has more than *just* the Kanto Pokémon in it. I'd like to see the whole series represented rather than just the start of it. Hopes are high, expectations aren't, but I'm really looking forward to it anyway!
I laughed out loud when I saw wade Whipple 🤣. 2024s still got some surprises in it
When I heard it was gonna follow Red, the most uninteresting trainer in pokemon tbh [i'm sorry but someone who actually caught them all, says nothing as is supposed to be OP just isn't a character, it's a mary sue in pokemon terms] I was massively disappointed.
Frankly I want em to do something original, or follow someone with a lot more intrigue. Personally I woulda found it interesting if they followed Cynthia before she became champion, show her raising a gible to a garchomp, show her discovering a spiritomb and catching it, show her butting heads with Cyrus. I think that woulda been a cool series idea. Also I just want to see Emillia Clarke be Cynthia xp
Does anyone know in which direction this Live Action has developed and what form it is taking? Because the last time I heard and read about this Live Action project, I understood that the series would be about "a woman who is looking for nostalgia, direction in her life and also a return to Pokemon games by replaying her old childhood games on her GameBoy while navigating through her early midlife crisis", which is interesting as an idea and concept, but would quickly become boring as a realized series. However, I don't know if this is even the same Pokemon series or another one that Netflix was previously developing.
This is apparently a different one but that also begs the question of why that series hasn't been released internationally yet.
I honestly think a live action Series Could Expand The World Of Pokémon.
Oh yeah, I would definitely want it to be something that grows the lore and the world.
Yeah. I hope it continues to work out like one piece
I've grown more tolerant towards the idea of Live Action adaptation lately (thanks One Piece Live Action) and I don't hate the idea. Because fundamentally it boils down to being creative and having fun, which should never be discouraged. But I will say, do it right. Make sure you stay true to the source material and what you make at least carries the spirit of the original. Otherwise there is no point. But I am at least willing to give Live Actions a chance until I see they are bad.
It would be nice to have a live action Pokémon based on proper Pokémon stuff than have it based on a spin-off game that doesn't utilise what people love about Pokémon.
Yeaaaah but wouldn’t it be the same thing😊
Am glad they fix Sonic faces
1:56 "you can't really put out anything with Pokémon in the title and expect it to be a hit" unfortunately, you can
I checked out when I heard it’s set in Kanto. I’m just beyond sick of everything being Kanto centric like this
They should do a Pokémon adventures live action because they do it in the anime why not make it a live action
They're making a Live Action Pokémon Series?
Please don’t make it bad🤦♀️😭
I'm so sick of live action personally. Anything on a streaming service just slides off my brain like cheap dollar store toys
Honestly I'm pretty tired of Kanto being the focus for every project like this.
I hope it releases on pokémon 30th anniversary
That would actually make a lot of sense, given it’s still probably really early at the moment and would be ready by then.
Well, I wonder if they'll still call rice balls donuts
Why Red 🫤
He's cool as a character but the Gen 1 story sucks
Should adapt the story of Gen 5 or 9
After seeing that minecraft movie trailer i am a little more nervous
The live action avatar did very well with adapting it's source material, the fanbase is just really stupid. They complain about things that don't make sense because they don't even remember the show as well as they think.
I don't trust Netflix to not make a train wreck.
Netflix is notoriously aweful at supporting good shows. If people don't binge it in one sitting, it's not getting a second chance.
they cancel what people aren’t watching and costs too much to continue making, just because a few fans believe it’s good doesn’t mean it’s actually getting giews 🙄
Nam
Pokémon should stick to animation, in my opinion. Personally, I didn't like Detective Pikachu, so I wouldn't be interested in another attempt at a live-action adaptation. Then again, I didn't like the CG remake of Mewtwo Strikes Back either, which made the same mistakes as the Disney remakes: it was inferior, in every respect, to the 4Kids dub.
I definitely think there’s room for live action Pokémon. It’s really a franchise that has potential for anything. Though, I’m definitely most interested in animated projects for Pokémon. Though, like I said, the best course for a live action adaptation would be to create something new rather than trying to adapt what’s already good. Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a great example. Something it that style honestly would’ve been cool if it wasn’t just redoing something and making it not as good as the original.
Pokémon has been doing live action for years they do live action cgi commercials don’t they u don’t have issue with those
The Disney remakes and mewtwo strikes back evolution are nothing alike
There is no superior or inferior just equal
Things can coexist it’s not a competition
I get what your saying but I believe things can coexist as long as we’re grateful for what the Pokémon company did which will give
A lot of value and benefit between the Pokemon company’s power for inspiration
@@uzairkhan7166basically
So Minecraft…
Netflix. 🤮
live action pokemon series, live action minecraft movie and other disney live action slop.
Am i missing something why are studios thinking live action is a good idea? who wanted these?
The general public.
