Can we get a video on kitchen cabinet colors and hardware mixes?
Me watching every one of your videos, nodding and agreeing with you, whilst simultaneously planning to paint my kitchen yellow and wallpaper one wall floral.
When we bought our house, the kitchen had recently been redone. It was done in a country style that I liked & wanted to live with for awhile to see what, if any changes I wanted to make. Fairly quickly, I realized that while I liked the cabinet hardware style,I didn’t care for the color. It was a gold distressed with black. It looked more dirty than distressed. So I just spray painted them to make them look wrought iron black. An inexpensive fix & I liked the look much better. Now that I’ve lived with the kitchen for 12 years, I’m ready for a brand new kitchen but that inexpensive hardware fix helped me get to a point to where I understood what I loved in my kitchen, what I didn’t & where I want to go from here. Thank you for all your ideas on cabinet colors. I was having a hard time deciding but now I’m thinking one color I the actual kitchen & a co-ordinating color in the attached dining room where we are adding additional cabinets/serving bar.
Beautiful ideas!
Really useful. Thanks!
I'm doing my cabinets in Apple Crisp (BM) and lavender walls. I have a tiny kitchen. White backsplash w/ pink or b&w counter tops.
Good tips. I'm going to paint the cabinet casings and frames and leave the drawer and cabinets fronts wood. I love the wood grain but there is just too much wood for me. The floor is hardwood. So I think I can brighten up the kitchen and make it more interesting with a paint and wood combination. Fingers crossed. 😁
Painted mine light brown, same as the walls. One thing to keep in mind is that darker colors will kill the some of the light. If I had to do it over again probably would have picked an off white.
What is the Sage green color that is shown in this video. I love it!
One of my pet peeves with Benjamin Moore is their samples don't come in satin or semigloss. When having a discussion with the person mixing the paint she said it WOULDN'T (not shouldn't) make a difference when choosing a color. I beg to differ! I'm an artist and sheen can make or break what you're going for. For example when choosing to paint the trim the same color but a different Sheen, even though subtle, the light that reflects is different. #ITALLABOUTLIGHT... I just needed to complain out loud about this!
I love natural blues and greens. Turquoise or Caribbean water colors are my favorite. I'm looking to have a coastal vibe in my kitchen. Counters are Carrera marble styled quartz (they are staying). Any suggestions? It's s a 9 x 13 space with a shaded South Western light. No backsplash yet since we are waiting to get paint on the cabinets. Walls are SW alabaster at the moment. Space is open to the rest of the home.

@@coastaldiva it's funny you mention that color. The original paint color (from 1951) under years of wall paper is very similar. I saved a swatch to have color matched. It'll been interesting to see how close it is.
@@angelah9745 oh my , that’s interesting! Update when you find out more! 🎨
Thanks, James. By the way, your sister is so pretty and there's no denying she's your sister. Yall look so much alike. Question; Does anyone know what the wall color James shows at 6:05 - 6:07?...the one with the couch and black pillows...white lamp on the right side. I love that color, but I don't know what it is... anyone? Please
