Clueless Ford Dealership Still Charging HUGE MARKUPS on Raptors!

- Blows my mind that we still have Ford dealerships deploying greedy tactics like this. Charging $10K over MSRP for their base F150 Raptors?! Meanwhile the rest of the world has moved to selling at MSRP and in many cases, offering 2-4K off sticker pretty easily. Seeing this near-sighted business approach from dealers in my region is a pretty disappointing. This is the Ken Garff Ford dealership in Fort Collins, Colorado. Think the GM of this dealership should have a chat with the GM at the Ken Garff Ford dealership in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Just cause you can, doesn't mean you should. Nobody is buying these Raptors and turning them for a profit -that's not the market we live in. So they can't even claim that lousy excuse. If that does become the market we live in, it's because of them to begin with... charging these absurd markups.
This greedy behavior shows ZERO regard for the customer. ZERO respect, and ZERO interest in building long-standing relationships with their customer base. This just proves that they treat their customers like numbers... just another brick in the wall. No care for you to be a returning or life-long customer. Shame on them.
What are you seeing in your local area? Are you still seeing dealers charge ADMs on their desirable vehicles and trims?
Thank you for watching as always, please consider Liking and Subscribing if you find any value in this type of content. Changing greedy behavior requires us to be vocal about it. Don't just roll over and accept this type of stuff... Standing up against it is what will drive positive change for the consumer. This here only lines their pockets. Times are tough for all right now, why take advantage of people when we're all struggling? Makes no sense to me.

As promised, if you’re in the market for a new Ford F150 Raptor, just checkout any of the following FB pages: “2021+ Ford Raptor - MSRP only” or “Ford Raptor Classifieds” or “Ford Raptors For Sale” or “No Markup Ford Raptor” or “No Markup Fords” …it’ll take you less than 5 mins to find one at sticker or better. I’m hopeful that this dealership here will drop this near-sighted business approach and start putting customers first. 👍
Ty
Let me know where I can find one for Msrp or below. We need to push these videos out more to gain some traction and stop all these markups
If he ever comes up missing, Ken Garff will be the primary suspect.
😂😂😂
Truth
😂😂😂
well, at least hes not a boeing whistleblower.
Haha if I blink 3 times in my next video... send help.
The REAL problem is that some idiot will pay the markup, and the dealer knows it.
well, one idiot wouldn't really make a difference. MANY idiots would. And unfortunately there are many out there.
Yeah but they probably have a dozen of these on the lot. Are there that many suckers willing to go in on a $1.2k a month truck payment??
@@protocolsev YOLO Bro!!!... then trade it in in 2 years and get the newest one
Plus don’t forget about all the financing cost
Youre not wrong at all, some fool here in Houston actually paid the $10k mark up on a Ranger Raptor ironically at a Dealership that prides itself on being a "No dealer add on" Dealership 😂
As the owner of a transportation company that buys 5-8 vehicles a year I always make a note of any dealership that participates in opportunistic pirating schemes and put them on our blacklist for the future. We’re small but if we all do our part we can rid the industry of these bad faith actors.
This is a great strategy. Too bad there are not enough people who think like you. The populous owns the market, there are too many people who are uninformed and keep prices high.
I think we all need to stick together and do our part. Avoid and boycott any dealership that deploys these tactics. Voice your opinion to them. There are more of us than there is of them. When these dealerships mess with us then we mess with their bottom line. Only when they lose money will they stop.
They got a government bailout in 2008. They know they can lose money and oddly enough you will save them with your tax dollars…it’s a self licking ice cream.
Amen to that brother
Strangely enough, back in the 1970s my dad couldn't afford a jacked up pickup truck. But he still raised a family and built a cottage in the middle of no where and all he had was a Datsun B210(???) and a 4x8 utility trailer he made out of an old boat trailer. I'm sure that trailer had a higher payload capacity than a modern half ton...lolzzz
Supply and demand!
Let's change the market. Stop buying this stuff.
My boy has got balls. He talkin sh!+ about em in they front door. lol
He films on Sundays. Dealers arnt open
Ken Garff where I will NOT be doing business!
Crooked dealerships are everywhere. This is why people hate dealing with car salespeople. They are the nothing but crooks.
Exactly, I’m on my second Tesla and not looking back. Easiest vehicle purchase possible. Hoping the rest of the market follows suit
The salesperson doesn’t apply markups.
@FreddyShoop the whole "I'm just doing my job" is not a good look. Any time in history, it usually comes off very very very poorly. People that excuse the behavior, the same.
@@elche1976 I get it…but it’s like complaining about Walmart charging too much and complaining about the cashier
@@FreddyShoop your example kinda checks out.... if the customer is going through the self check out. 😉
The sad thing is that the grand majority of people who buys this truck at that price can't afford it , but willing to loose their heads for a truck they're gonna have repo later.😢
It's pretty important to impress your neighbor and drive a status symbol you don't need asked can't afford. And people wonder why they're struggling.
Thats BS if you can qualify for a 92K truck you make money these are for people who actually make good money and aren't broke assess. I have a 22 Raptor and a C7Z06 just got my wife a M4 Competition. You have to pay to play if you want big boy toys...
Yep, repo rates are through the roof right now. It's insane... sad.
Let’s be honest about this, no matter your thoughts on Tesla the company the way they do things with selling their cars is amazing. My mom just bought her model Y and literally no salesman and no finance managers bugging you to try to buy extra crap.
Yep. People will find out that Tesla is the future of cars. Low price. No haggling. No oil changes. Cheaper energy equivalent.
People rag on Elon then buy the things they can’t afford 😂 when Elon just drove down the cost that a model 3 is cheaper lease then a Corolla 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah I'd be A-okay with manufacturers moving to the Tesla direct-to-consumer purchase model. Leave out the guess work and riff raff.
Ken Garff and Larry H Miller are the highest price in their local markets. Greed from both of them. Larry H Miller offered me $22k on a Duramax for trade. Traded it to another dealer for $34k.
Dang, that's ridiculous. I've heard that a few times before. Glad you were able to go elsewhere for a better trade in.
I will never pay a mark-up.
Yep, and remember the dealers who deployed em.
@@UntamedMotors I will indeed and I completely stopped doing any business with them.
Only the consumer has the final say as to what this dealership will get for the Raptors on their lot. It is a free country and we as consumers have a choice when it comes to purchasing a truck or not. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there with more money than brains that will pay what ever the dealer wants just because they can! Unless you desert run or offroad a lot the Raptor is not a very useful truck and is to big for most serious offroad trails IMHO. If you buy the Raptor for your ego, well you have other issues that money can't fix!
I wouldn't even pay 40K for one of them trucks &for them to ask over 80K is complete greed from these con dealerships & just as bad what the registration would be on any vehicle 80K in Cali would be 800$ to thousand dollars year & not to forget insurance cost has got to be over 2K year.
ranger raptor $40k is too much? I'd pay that.
That's because you're broke because you live in that hell hole of a state CA. Get the hell out of there and enjoy living you only get one go around in life drive the car or truck you want once your dead none if it matter anymore.
I emailed an executive at Ford directly about this nonsense, will they care, probably not. The markups on the ranger raptors are absurd and completely turning me off to ever wanting to trade in my 2017 raptor for a new one. As someone who traded in frequently I doubt I will at this rate. The greed of this industry and the stupidity of buyers that still buy these marked up vehicles just ruin it for the rest of us. The average consumer is being priced out of ever owning a new vehicle without going into serious debt and that is a shame.
Happy to hear you piped up about it and sent a email. Most folks will just roll over and say "oh well, guess that's the way it is now..." psh
Please come to LA… I’ll gladly take you around my local dealerships and show you how they ripped people off!!!!
Oh man, I bet it's awful down there... I always hear/see horrific markups down there. smh
Real glad you are calling them out. Will be leaving them a review.
Thanks man. Hopefully they'll adjust this flawed, near-sighted approach. Dealers EVERYWHERE are charging MSRP or less for these. Super upsetting to see greed like this.
@@UntamedMotors I’m seriously considering just going to Nissan. I been wanting a truck for a while and everyone says go Toyota but I can’t stand this price gouging just because they know they own majority market with their trucks and have a loyal fan base.
I love that this guy isn’t trying to get a free ticket to an unveiling at Toyota. He’s like the honey badger, he doesn’t care.
Ken Garff Riverdale, Utah lost me as customer after 2 purchases. You know who’s deceitful when they refuse to call you or follow through on their commitment. Now, 5 years later I need a 3/4 ton with a V8 and they won’t be selling a third vehicle to me. It’s a bummer because they are so close to where I am. Looking for the going out of business sign one day soon I hope.
Guess what these dealerships or car brands don’t care either lol. We can sit here huffin and puffin these prices go down. Ain’t happening..
Appreciate the support brother =]
Keep on them man! Enough is enough with these stealerships.
They'll continue to take advantage until they get called out. It's the unfortunate truth of the matter... Which is sad.
@@UntamedMotors .. it is sad. I’m moving away from Toyota. Every vehicle manufacturer has its issues, but Toyota has been especially disappointing. They just up charged my parents 4k for a hybrid RAV 4. Told them it was a “rare and popular vehicle”. Thanks Toyota for taking advantage of my 78 year old Vietnam vet father.
@@tewksburydriver8624 you’re definitely not alone in feeling that way man. Toyota has taken an abrupt turn for the worse I’m afraid. =\
I totally get why people just want dealerships out of the way. I've had several good experiences and one very bad one.
But when I got my 2024 Platinum Super Duty last month, the dealership I worked with gave me a solid deal on my trade and $3,600 off MSRP. Which is very good considering the type of truck and trim level.
Meanwhile, another local dealer had a 2023 (thats a THREE) Lariat Ultimate Tremor marked up EIGHT THOUSAND DOLLARS.
My Platinum wasn't a Tremor but with the discount it was over $3K chepaer than the Lariat Tremor from LAST YEAR. My '24 Platinum . Chepaer than the '23 Lariat Tremor. Absolutely ridiculous.
Yeah very few people ever feel great about their car buying experience... it's generally a miserable experience from start to finish. Which is pathetic to say...
Those dealers are definitely smoking some new CRACK !
Haha, yeah they're definitely hoping to take advantage of an unsuspecting person who gets excited about it while visiting the dealership.
Loveland Ford advertised my 2024 with no markup... then when I went in they added it back on ($10,000). I told them no way, to which they said "this is standard everywhere in the US right now because they are hard to get". I told them that was complete nonsense and they need to do their research. They called a few hours later and sold at MSRP. Appreciate your insight here!
Psh that's pathetic...some dealers are just trying to hang onto those COVID days where they could take advantage of people left and right. smh Glad you called them out.
Let them go out of business
Does the 2008 car manufacturer bailout ring a bell. They are too big to fail. They get your money either way.
Could you do a video on dealerships that aren’t up charging?
I don’t know what a normal price is considered anymore.
Happy to do so!
Is it still a 6 cylinder? Saw one with a 6 cylinder and instantly thought - wow that sounds horrible. How stupid
Yep 3.5
That’s crazy Untamed. The vehicle market is crashing. How can any dealership still do markup’s ????????
More like Ken Barff!!!!
Went to a dealer yesterday
“I got 5, 70k trucks and they’re not selling”
Geeeee I wonderrr whyyy
Haha crazy huh? smh
There excuse is"we need to keep the lights on" its always something with these con artist and somehow everyone is the manager at the dealership
Yea I bought a 24 last week. Had multiple local dealers charging 6-10k markup for 24's, and selling used 22's at almost msrp of new 23 and 24's. But found a dealer in my state that sold me a 24 at $1800 under MSRP. Absolutely don't pay over retail.
Glad to hear you got a solid deal man, congrats! Hope you're enjoying it. What color did you go with? 37?
While I think it’s great of you to call out these dealers. I’m OK with them asking over. The trucks will sit on the lot for months and they’ll be charged finance fees which will eventually lead to them dropping the price. I hope they lose their ass on it!
I ended up just buying a model y performance. No haggling, no markups, no mandatory security systems (2-3k extra). Done with dealerships.
Good move imo. Tesla's direct-to-consumer concept is what a lot of people want and need these days. We're tired of dealing with untrustworthy dealerships that want to take advantage.
i love the mark-ups when there is 15 of them sitting for months on the lot ..
Haha always a hilarious sight!
I’m from Montana but I had some work done at the Porsche dealer in Ft. Collins which is probably close to where you were filming. Nice folks, kinda a mom and pop atmosphere which I like.
Awesome. I haven't been into that Porsche dealer, driven by it a few times though. Looks nice. Small and quaint like you describe.
Drove 70 miles today to Tyler Texas….ever dealership in every town had lots packed full and rigs parked on the grass out front….whatever happened to the law of supply and demand?
Not a single Ford is worth the msrp sticker price. But here they are marking things up....
The army of dust are heading their way 😂😂😂
Hah that's a fact. Unless they can trick someone with more money than brains to come into the dealership for a test drive. =/
Dealerships with expensive cars or trucks are dead men walking. Sad times.
Yep, we're living in a time where reputation actually matters for dealerships. Can't pull this stuff. Word of mouth is a powerful thing.
Have the same color at a dealer here with the 802a package and moonroof and bead locks wheels for sticker at 93k no mark ups. Even during the days of markups, most dealers here were just charging msrp. Just ordered a F350 and got $3k off msrp.
Where are you seeing below MSRP in CO?
Thank God i take excellent care of my 2014 F150 EB with 97k. No way would i buy another Ford truck any time soon.
They are pulling the same crap here in Calif. Accept they are asking 20-25 over and they have two Raptor Rs in stock. Ones 160k and the second is 210k.
Because Cali is full of rich folks 🤑
@@RS-ft7nv apparently
I'm sorry to hear man... CA is the worst with this nonsense. =/
Here in Texas Town East is doing 15000 mark ups on the Raptors
Just pure insanity... smh =/
Hey atleast here in SoCal they're only charging $15k over MSRP.
Man that is ridiculous... Sorry to hear. CA tends to be the worst with this stuff...
When you head down south, in Florida, they're still bumping up that 10-15k dealership fee. I've been checking out the Raptor R's for 2025. Recently, I checked out Ram RHO and this dealership, a few states away, is reducing the new RHO's up to 10K. As a family, we may keep our truck.
Man that's just sickening... smh. They have zero care for their reputation. All about making a quick buck. Real near-sighted business model.
Not only is it ridiculous someone is putting miles on it.
Yes they still do in my area and on broncos CA
Dang... Yeah CA tends to see the worst of it unfortunately. =/
Buying stuff they don't need with money they don't have to impress people they don't like.
I’ve been looking for a non-R Raptor and every place is charging a markup. Today I went and looked at a 2023 (2024’s on the lot already) and they were adding a $9k “Protection Package”. I told them they need to remove that before we even start negotiating. I am about to give up and just look for a Tundra TRD Pro.
Seeing closer to 15-20k markups in the Denver metro area. Definitely just dealer markups, starting at like 6 figures for these F150 Raptors. Even seeing that high of a markup on smaller ones like the Ranger Raptor. Dealerships are absolutely crazy this year.
There’s a fool somewhere writing down a check ….😂
That's the unfortunate truth. They know what they're doing. Just waiting to take advantage of someone's excitement of the truth. =/
WELL IN TORONTO CANADA
Jeep CANADA has raised the price for a Rubicon X by another 2k. ??? Was 100k and now 102k ?
What's going on????
Same thing at Pines Ford in South Florida
Just pure greed... ridiculous to see right now.
People have to stop paying these markups immediately
Amen to that brother. It's ridiculous to see right now.
I called Graff Ford in Wyoming to try to buy a Raptor R. They simply said they can’t get any. That’s one way to not charge AMD’s
Kind of related: Range Raptor near me are going for $74k and MSRP is 59k… both are ridiculous!!
Psshh That's insane... smh
@@UntamedMotors yeah ain’t no way! These truck need to drop at least by 20% from MSRP to sell at the volume that these greedy auto makers/dealers are losing out on. I’m in the market for a truck, but just on principle I won’t buy!
A little of the beaten path BUT yesterday i went to buy a left over 2023 motorcycle at invoice. Dealer wanted it gone and showed me the paper work proving it was being sold at invoice. I got the paper work from the dealer showing the totals of everything so i could go to my credit union and have them cut a check for it and what a nightmare!! The bank would only do 90% of invoice and i had to pay the rest of the value of the bike PLUS all the taxes title and fees!! They felt that it being a left over 2023 motorcycle it was not even worth the invoice price, lol?? Sooooooooo forget MSRP sticker, they were at 90% of invoice price and that was it. Times are changing!! I was told if i want a loan for MSRP + fees and tax and title it would need to be a 2024 model.
Ken Garff such a dealership owner name lmao
Same with Power Ford in Albuquerque. Asking $25k markup on the new ranger raptor and $15k markup on many F150 raptors. They're even asking $10k over on Bronco Raptors which are going well below MSRP all over the country.
I got scared for a second we were gonna see a roast of the General Manager you recently interviewed. While I’m glad to know it isn’t his dealership, dealers need to wake up.
Haha noooo. Kevin is cool, these guys on the other hand... sigh... Who knows, maybe they'll make a correction.
I like the model before and would prefer that one I’m reading on the cam phaser issues now. But these mark ups are insane. I like that GM in the last video. I would do business with him
Agreed. I prefer the previous headlights over these new ones. And yeah Kevin is cool. Way better GM than this one here...
Markups for Ranger Raptors in NC, good luck finding an honest dealer around here.
Love these videos... 👍
Haha I appreciate the support =] Thank you. Need to pipe up on this stuff otherwise it'll just continue...
Got my ‘24 801a at MSRP over a month ago. Love this thing!
Heck yeah man, congrats! What color did you go with?
@@UntamedMotors Avalanche of course ha!
@@JDMDNP nice! 💯 best choice
Same thing up here in Canada. Ford dealers have dozens of vehicles in all classes sitting on the lot, many of them 2023s. Mark ups on highest trims and zero discount on everything else sitting on the lot.
Ford advertising 9% finance rate on most vehicles.
They're desperate to hold on to the power they have had for the last 2 years
They know they will get bailed out by you the tax payer just like 2008.
Man I thought it was illegal for dealers to do this in Canada?
Love your channel
These priced are getting untamed😂😂😂
Lol ain't that the truth.
I live in Colorado and this state is the worst place to buy anything with 4wd, I flew to Orlando Florida to get my 4Runner and my girlfriend flew to Dallas Texas for hers. I would love to see every stealership that does this go out of business.
Imagine flying to another a state to buy a furrunner
Lol
Glad you guys were able to avoid these crazy markups. Good on you for traveling out of state to buy.
It’s free market enterprise & the consumers have to step-in to move the sellers into a place of reality. The margins on these trucks are fat enough to sell below MSRP, so that latitude falls to the buyers to move downward.
I bought a 37 package & paid what I feel is reasonable. My trade-in is where I got hosed & that’s because my Chevy Colorado ZR2 was only 3 months into ownership. I can afford this truck; living below my means in Silicon Valley. However, I agree with most of your points & some people are truly stretching their cash flow (household finances) to the limits.
Keep the truth coming brother.
Thanks for the support man. Need to keep on them, or else they'll need change...
Wish i could post photos. I just got a fully loaded "every optional extra" pepper red for MSRP. Small town ford dealer. After we finalize i will shout out their name to send them business.
Congrats man! Great choice. =]
My local dealer is at $10k over on their 3 Raptors. You would think that 3 on hand would eliminate the greed.
Haha you would think... smh pure insanity.
No thanks. Rock on Garff. Excellent.
People are still buying them in Arkansas anyway. There’s no 2023’s left and they have mark ups at almost every dealership.
Sometimes these posted prices are just a starting price for negotiations. Also, there are buyers overseas (China, Dubai) where they will pay over Msrp, since they don’t have enough allocation.
I agree with Untamed…greedy tactics.
I'm happy to see the games these dealerships are playing. It'll make the impending train wreck that much sweeter.
Haha ain't that the truth...
Thats crazy that would be something like 40k down and $1000 a month for 5 years I would like to have a Raptor but i cant see $1000 a month before insurance and gas...
today, on unhinged dealers, I mean, untamed motors.
Haha sorry I was feeling a little extra passionate in this one. Just frustrating to see dealers pulling this crud still. Do they not care about their reputation or customers?
thats a 50,000$ truck that ford MSRP'd for 80,000$ and the dealership is marking up to 92,000$
I still see 2023 on the lots at MSRP and more
lol ranger raptor in New Jersey 10.000 over I’m looking for one at sticker
Untamed at your 🚪 and he’s pissed!
Haha I was feeling extra passionate when recording this one lol...
Yep , everything you said . 100% !
Thanks for the support man =]
i thought that manager said no more markups
I'm surprised untamed doesn't get thrown off the lot. You're brave!
To be fair, it was a Sunday. They were closed. I have no problems just talking to them while there. I always ask to record, they never have a qualm about it. If they say no (which has never happened)... I just leave. Easy as that.
Even without a markup, there’s no way I would pay $82 grand for a F****** truck!!!! What a COMPLETE RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙄
Yep same old story raptor. Mustang, maverick and bronco.
Because we live in Hawaii and the state made a new law where you can’t just go by a vehicle and drive it 500 miles bring it home and have it registered as a youth car. It’s now gotta be six months the Hawai’i Stealerships can gouge resident for all they want to. I sent over IG pictures of Ford in Honolulu with $15,000 mark ups or more. I don’t even know what a Raptor R would be.
Have you ever been chased off the lot because… they saw one of your videos where you highlighted their inflated prices?
Added it to the list of Dealerships I will never do business with, Ken Garff
The new headlights and taillights don’t do it for me. Especially the taillights, I don’t know who thought those look better than the previous ones.
Not worth but 60k imo I bet the tax man loves the high prices and valuations 😂
@UntamedMotors
Only $10k? Hah thats nothing dealership in Az still much higher markets. Taken from site:
Current Availability-Based Market Adjustment Charges:
Raptor: $20,000
Raptor R: $50,000
Gold Ticket: $50,000
Bronco (Hard/Soft Top): $5,000
Bronco Raptor: $10,000
Maverick (Hybrid Motor): $10,000
Maverick (Gas Motor): $5,000
The general manager and the dealer must be getting more business than they know what to do with!!! So in the long run, people will just stay away because everyone knows this dealer is out to rip off customers!
Green looks good ; but not the price
That is way too much money for a Ford Pick up.
At this point it seems to be by design, Dealerships don't lower prices, consumers can't afford new vehicles so they are forced to drive their old cars in to the ground and in the process, small used car dealers don't have a stock to sell, so the small guy goes out of business, with no good used cars to sell, it'll force the consumer to turn back to the big dealerships to buy what they can't afford. Meanwhile, the manufacturers have glutted the market, so they'll sit on those until the consumer has to return to the big dealerships, and all the while keep their prices so high that people will be forced to pay or go afoot. Repossessions will proliferate and sink the economy in to a quagmire it can't extricate itself out of. All my opinion, of course.
I tell old story yes
Relayed to me by friend of friend
A man contacts new car dealership
Says he X amount to spend on used truck
Sales guy says that they don’t have truck of that value but a cheaper truck
Man says no that is less than he wanted to spend
Salesman thinks and say now that I think of it we do have one at that price
Come in and have look
Salesman puts new price on the cheaper truck and makes the sale
This was 40years ago
And you are worried about markups that are advertised as such
What about people getting stiffed on trades every day😅
That last F150 belongs to someone lol, it had paper tags. I’m sure it has to belong to GM.
