Hey everybody, thanks for tuning in again. This was a very quick video that I made, so I apologize for that thick white power cable in the pedal view camera. 🎥🔌 I noticed it just in the editing process and it was too late by then. I hope you enjoy the video. Please let me know in the comments if you think this modeler is useful for shoegaze tones or if you have any other recommendations. Also, feel free to share, what content you'd like to see in upcoming videos. Have fun! Kenneth
Really love the UI! Thanks for showing this gear as I really wanted to hear it Shoegazing. I currently use the HX Stomp but always open to new stuff that gives me more options 🎸
Really great demo, Insane value for the price and the UI is really impressive. How does the HX stomp XL justify itself given the x3 price comparing to this NUX ?
Well, the HX stomp is super powerful. It actually has everything you could need connection-wise. This particular NUX mmodeler has only a mono input and stereo output connection. No send and return possibilities to include external pedals and I believe the expression pedal is only a volume pedal. But the cabinets and amps and overdrives are surprisingly good.
@@berlinshoegazerOh, makes sense then. For us pedal hoarders it's a pity it doesn't have a send/return. Even with a HX stomp most of the people I see use them as a multiFX pedal on the pedalboard along other pedals. I'm thinking about switching to a modeller instead of 20kg pedalboard but some pedals just grew on me so it's hard to leave them aside.
@@ionureche1671 Yeah, I do the same thing with the HX Stomp, it's a great "motherpedal" for shoegazers in combination with your beloved ones. I had a 20kg pedalboard once too before I started the channel. It was great to have all the controls right to your feet. Is super fun live. But you need a big car and keep a healthy posture at all times. It's getting on your back and pocket at some point.
@@ionureche1671 The NUX MG-30 is the bigger brother of this pedal that does have send/return and stereo input. A bit bigger and pricier, although probably less if you look on the used market for one.
11:05 Wow Sounds like MBV ! 14:39 If you update the firmware you can add another reverb ( DLY RVB) I have the MG400 too ! How did you record your guitar ? I notice that you use 2 output cables but it sounds very mono (?)
Cool multi stomp. I just got a Squire jazzmaster 12 string and I have been using my soft focus pedal with it. You need to pick a 12 string up (I suggest the Squire jazzmaster 12string) it sounds amazing. Hands down the dreamiest guitar sound I have ever heard. Plus 12 strings are great if you are a bass player, as dealing with strings in pairs feels just like a bass string. Plus, chapterhouse used them on whirlpool what's not to like about them
Sound huge! I'm looking out for a 12 string guitar for a long time now. Another music project or gear motivation always hold me back. I will definitely pick one up.
Did you record it using just the output into a audio interface or did you record via USB on the unit itself? I actually bought a Valeton Gp-200 which is sort of in the same ballpark i would assume? I havent really gotten around to exploring that pedal enough yet! And do you think I could get some decent results by using my Zoom MS-50g for shoegaze effects into the Valeton and just use the Valeton as amp sim?

We're all judging that, for sure, man😂

@@berlinshoegazerHow about a zoom g3n shoegaze demo using its built in modeler / cab sims since you already made a zoom cdr review?😊
Hi again Kenneth - Thanks for keeping Shoegaze alive, whether traditionally or with new methods and new ideas :D
I try. 😄 I think it's a great way to keep people inspired and share excitement for music.
YEAH, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR YEARS. You and your videos never cease to amaze me... thank you and good luck in your future endeavors!
Thank you! Happy to hear that. You too!
Really love the UI!

Wow! Just saw the price! Amazing 😻
15:15 I don't know what that was, but I really really like it. It sounds familiar, but I can't tell what it is.
I don't know either.. but I felt very similar about that part.
my bloody valentine
Whirr - Mumble?
i noticed it at first because the chord was similiar

That's true. I only used rather mono examples (one amp set up). I went stereo (two mono cables) into two inputs of my interface.

Absolutely! You could get a very similar tone like that. I recorded stereo into the interface.
Sounds pretty impressive for the price honestly, how does it sound with other pedals before or after it?
Good question. Didn't check it so far.
The pedal sounds nice and all, but your guitar playing is exceptional dude (;
Did you ever do more than 1 or 2 Helix videos before you sold the HX Stomp XL? If so, I can't find them for some reason... Cheers!
Wouldn't sell my HX Stomp XL. It's perfect for my music. I just made two videos with it so far.
@@berlinshoegazerseriously?? I'll check them out. Thank you!
I had the MG-300 and enjoyed it until it started hacing a weird issue and i had to return it
Oh damn.. that's too bad. But as long as they work they seem to have quite good sounds.
does this allow bypass? All these junky Chinese modellers don't allow bypass or or clean blend. I bought the Mooer S1.. It's JUNK!
