You must have it mounted really well on your fence or in the ground. I have a bird feeder with a baffle similar to that but not quite as long. I might have to find an additional piece... But My bird feeder is just stuck in the ground with a pipe. The little bugger can climb up the pole and the weight of him on the pole will pull it out of the ground. So I'm using motion detecting sprinklers to keep him out of the yard. I take the bird feeder in as an extra chore every night.

Also depends on location. Squirrels can do super far jumps/leaps.
