I have an LE500 E92 M3, had an E60 M5 and currently have an M6 GC along side it. For me it’s the best M car ever made, the technical specs and pure car geekery of the engine, gearbox and chassis will never be found again in an M. A keeper for life.
Evolve Automotive agreed the M2 was a resurgence in an otherwise downward slope for the M brand. E chassis cars are the ones people will remember. Looking forward to bringing my car for the upgrades later in the year.
This is the first video where I can actually see the plenum vibrate. No wonder why they can get so loud, it is practically a loud speaker! I've paid way too much attention to exhausts in the past as I believed exhausts are dealing with higher pressures and temperatures. Now I see plenums are equally technical.
I really want one, the E92 has just been added to my M car dream line up. E30 M3, E46 CSL ( manual conversion ), E39 M5 and now this....... I need a new Job
Jerez Black. Deep rich Blue metallic looks most beautiful, IMO. Thanks for the video. I’ve been looking into the very same setup and now I know what result to expect.
Whenever I see an 'Eventuri Carbon Plenum' video on youtube, I automatically press 👍 Would this Carbon Plenum (+ stage 2 remap) be compatible with the M3 GTS and M3 CRTs that have the S65B44 engine? Also, do you think its a requirement to have an extra transmission cooler for the DCT if a 'regular' M3 owner was to get a GTS tune for their DCT? Many thanks and keep up the great work.
Yes the Eventuri Plenum would work with those cars, as far as I know the plenum itself is identical. Cooler wise definitely not for average use, we haven’t found a need to upgrade it for even hard road driving. Extreme conditions like mountain/canyons with a lot of shifting and track use potentially, but that would be the same without the tune.
Thanks for sharing this update for the plenum and air box cover for the E92 M3. Just when I thought I was about done with missing mine, you give me another reason to invest just a little bit more $$$ 😆💯
great content and great products guys!😍 The resonance of the CF plenum is the key to the sound. I'm sure you guys have made note of this, but seems like top have of the plenum hits its natural frequency, and you can see it physically resonating in the center of the plenum (12:12). Maybe some shape factor on the underside of the skin would mitigate this, and improve fatigue life! This is a year on now, has anything been done to address G
Eventuri rigorously tested this product before release. When stationary the top of the plenum flexes slightly, this is due to the specified thickness of the carbon fibre to tune the sound. In motion with road speed air flowing freely through the system/RPM increasing at a slower rate under load this does not happen. As such there has been no evidence of damage occurring over time, even with some of these Plenums now having been used for 3 years on cars that get used hard on track.
The only downside to the e9x m3 was the low torque. I’m glad you were able to increase it some. 295 lb/ft is just too low. It was still my favorite car.
Wish you guys were somewhere in the southwest U.S. Want to find a trust worthy BMW shop with all your knowledge. Looking at a couple E90 M3 6spd manual. Want to have bearings, fluids, etc done for peace of mind. Maybe in the future get this bit of kit. Great quality as always.
Looks ace - a bit concerned about the plenum volume collapse aspect. Is the reduction of carbon thickness to get noise allowing the top surface be depressurised by the induction vacuum? I would expect that to reduce the volume of the plenum like a "lung" and create a wave, slowing down the intake speed, particularly around the rear trumpet pairs. Not an issue with a forced induction engine as the intake pressure is positive, but an NA engine relies on constant negative pressure for the resonance frequencies. You could be hearing wave reversals (like exhaust back pressure). But I'm no flow engineer!
With having so much experience behind the wheel of the E9X M's how do ya'll at Evolve Automotive feel about the DCT vs Manuel in these specific cars? I'll be purchasing mine within the year and im still debating on the two. Absolutely love your videos and cant wait to purchase your products for my very own E92!!
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but you say there are no gains with this plenum etc however, with it being carbon would that not reduce the intake temperature, or at least be more resistant to bay temperatures and therefore producing extra ponies?
Miss my old e92 m3 :( had the test pipes and intake but never got round to having a tune put on before I sold it, worst decision I ever made! Felt the difference in power just with the test pipes and no tune.
Great sound! My question is will primary decat and 2.5 back box mod overtake the sound experience of plenum? I love my decated and 2.5mod ,but possibly look into plenum aswell.
Haven’t heard it personally, maybe ask on an owners forum, there’s over 100 Plenums out there! The Plenum is very loud in the cabin so don’t think you would have an issue.
thinking bout having this done to mine - how does it effect MOT? wont it fail two things 1) the emissions test from having cats removed and 2) the visual check again from cats being cut out?
With correctly functioning secondary cats and the car up to operating temperature it will still pass the emissions test. We haven’t experienced any issue with them failing MOTs.

Which is the v8 335. & everyone in the comments always goes, “that sounds so good, I want an e92 now”. Well I bet you had no idea your standard n54/n55 motor will not sound like this when straight piped. For the exception of the people out there that know the entire 3 series, this was kinda of a disappointment to find out. Thanks to this UA-camr that hasn’t failed to mention the v8. No, because internal volume of a plenum and trumpet length are incredibly complex and have potential downsides as well as upsides. For example changing trumpet length and shape can change the shape of the power curve, but gaining in one area will lose in another. That’s before even looking at part throttle and drive-ability.

Yes, it was extensively tested on road and track, with multiple iterations of thickness to tune the sound and test the carbon fibre
Exactly my thoughts when I saw the plenum under vacuum. Just wondering if that would affect air flow or cause some unworthy turbulence..
I would be more concerned about long term structural integrity and eventually bits of resin breaking off and becoming ingested by the motor.
