we need a track video! lets see Imran go all out! That shortened final drive ratio is dope. would also love to watch a further analysis on the effects and tuning u guys do for it :)
E92 M3 with DCT has a 3.15 final drive ratio, by changing it to a 3.62 out of the E46 M3 we have shortened the gearing meaning we lose a little top speed but gain acceleration.
Unfortunately becoming more of an issue, this one was okay still with a wire wheel, rust treatment and some paint, but on our high mileage Monte Carlo car the rust had gone too far and was compromising the integrity of the subframe so it had to be replaced.
Great job! Just had a complete suspension refresh on my e92 335i with almost all the same components, added m3 spec ST coilovers, m3 rear lower control arm conversion w/ spl inner bushing, and solid diff mounts. Curious as to why you chose not to add monoballs in place of the rear lower control arm on the inner position. McGill Motorsports also sells a rod end spacer that allows the use of the lembfroder monoball, same bushing that is on the inner position of the upper control/guide arm, on the carrier side. This would eliminate the last the of the rubber bushings in the rear.
Oh my, my, my! Screaming with jealousy. (and of all persons I should not have such feelings, LOL!) Not a machine that shouts out look at me but a well sorted one I'd love to have setting next to my E60 M5, 6sp.. As usual you guys always nail it. Can't wait to see it completed. 💯
This reminds me of my old Melbourne red e92 m3, which had the evolve primary decat / stage 2 remap- vmax delete and rev limit raise. It would have been amazing with all those mods 💪💪 By the way is there any chance you could settle and argument and take a built one to Germany to see if it can crack 200mph on the clocks ? 🙏👌👍🏻💪
Evolve Team, another great video! Let me know what Aston thinks of the Revshift Subframe Bushings compared to others. It shouldn’t have any change whilst driving from other Solid Subframe Bushings. The sandwich design makes sense but I am not sure if it’s worth doing for ease of installation.
Also quick question… how did you guys salvage the subframe? I know in the high mileage car you bit the bullet and purchased new but in this car, it appears to be refurbished. A video would be great! Also, consider making a mount like Verkline does for the A9X Supra/Z4 Chassis. These cars are getting on with age and it would be awesome to see a solution like that!
lol its funny how easy the swap of subframe bushings look in this video. I just picture myself trying to do it and i already feel frustrated. very clean build tho
I’m surprised the rear camber arm bushing at the rear was replaced with a rubber replacement considering all the other rubber bushings were converted to a sealed monoball
I believe FCP are currently working on a sealed monoball upgrade now - Either way a brand new OEM part will always be an upgrade over one with 70k miles.
