This is the inwin 301, a case I'm modding for a friend. I hope this video will be a more in depth look at the 301 than other reviews out there. The idea is, if you can see the process of taking apart the case you'll have a better understanding of how to build a pc inside or mod it. I will be doing my own mod of this case over the next couple weeks so if you're reading this weeks after this videos release, you can check out that video too :)

"And... In there is the manual, which is kinda important" *chucks manual across table*
the side panel is meant to be exhaust, and the bottom panel is intake. just a note
Noted! That is an uneven intake to exhaust ratio though. I dunno why you'd want 2x more exhaust fans than intake
Dietec i don't really like the side panel exhaust either since all the cables basically block it. but one benefit is more intake = less dust buildup
its air exhaust on the side, not intake why do people keep getting that wrong. Intake is from the bottom only. I have 3 3.5inch drive bays, HDD's are cheaper then SSD's
I am still waiting for a case building from scratch. With all crazy stuff you can imagine :)
4:45 That side panel is meant for exhaust, which could result in negative air pressure and dust buildup. I'd say best setup would be to use the single fan in the back as intake and have cpu cooler exhaust toward the side panel fans. Other solution would be to set the side panel exhaust fans to a lower rpm and the bottom intake fans to a higher rpm.
Just wait for the next video :-)
Good Quality Review.Definitely worth watching.
Looking forward for the part 2 of this case mod :D
Great review.
Just a side note the bottom off case is the intake and the front is designed for a 240mm rad which exhaust out the front/side its not actualy an intake hence no dust filter.
if you like the inwin 301 definitely look into the inwin 303 its basically better in every way.
+Squeeker Radio 303 might have better features but I do like smaller cases. Huge towers are kinda ugly to me
Dietec i prefer smaller cases. but the 303 isnt that much bigger then the 301. i has 3 more pci slots but one is taken up by intake fans. and the psu is on its side so the 120mm fan faces glass.
One thought on this case is to get rid of the PSU and use a DC-DC psu like the HDPlex 400. It would give you even more options plus allow for modding of the top panel as well.
Looking forward for your next mod!
when i saw you a couple of months ago you said you have never modded any pc case and now you are saying you are a pc modder wow i am a great fan of yours
+TheSneakyRM Getting better! Still a long way to go through
Dietec yeah i wish you a good future and make us learn more
the entire bottom is open, all negative pressure will suck through that filter- not only the gpu but front mounted fans too, which is plenty. I have a front mounted H80i v2 and temps are perfectly fine compared to my previous case which had an open front.
Once upon a time, having a PSU at the bottom was atypical. Power supplies all used to be at the top.
That's some pretty professional sounding review :)
Small point of improvement: you started repeating yourself when talking about people only using 1 hdd and 1 ssd. You could've made the point using only 2 or 3 sentences.
+Joey Verhaar True! I'm a bad englisher
Dietec so from what country are you originally?
+DrLarsson No I'm from America I was just joking lol
Dietec lol bruh
the first thing I would do, carve something into the shroud and put in a led strip so it can give it a pop, and the part in the front where it says inwin i would change that and carve your brand Dietec and make that light up instead i think that would be cool if possible.
+Ssix Check my Instagram, I did carve something in the shroud :p
Nice, an interesting case!
Love the case, I wish I can find a way for it to accommodate at least 2 or 1 more 3.5hdd.
It will be full of dust with front intake mod. Also ugly if mounting exhaust fan at front. For me the best way to mod this case is cutting the front panel or drill holes for air come out.
Is there a way to paint this case without removing the rivets and break it down to pieces?
+DAKINGINDANORF Yeah just get it down to what it is at the end of the video and paint it as is. Will probably take two cans of spray paint to do it properly.
Nice! Looking forward to see that mod :D
Payday 2 is free on Steam for a limited time.Go grab it! Its not a free to play for a limited time, once you add it to your library you get to keep it forever,
Cool review, too bad inwin cases aren't available at all where I live, they make some nice stuff.
yeah... because it slowly turned into a freemium title. don't support devs that turn their product into dog turds. microtransactions have no place in AAA gaming.
they completly removed microtransactions ages ago. Do a google search before shitting on a game.
a google search, okay:
www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/4lqhel/payday_2s_update_100_removes_microtransactions/
so they promise not to add microtransactions, add them anyway and after the player base shits on them for it then they go "oops our bad" even though they happily milked said player base. I call BS.
I may have been inaccurate with my original comment, but i stand by the sentiment.
would it be ok if i used the front and floor of the case as intake and the rear and ceiling as outtake? (in this case i would be using the power supply as outtake too.
WTH happened with your mic setup when you started talking about drive bays? lol (~5:42) sounds like clipping, i'd guess if you had a compression filter on your audio export that kinda thing could be fixed in post.
do you think you'd be able to stick a light strip under that front panel face-plate? my idea is to put a corsair addressable RGB strip between the pcb and under the panel to control the front panel lights through corsairs software. let me know if you think this would work.
so im getting this case and was wondering what would you recommend i get to paint it a grey colour
i wanna go grey and purple but i dont wanna drill out the rivets
could i just tear it down like you did and paint it
If only it had a strip or two of that honeycomb pattern on the fron it would be a great choice for a 240 radiator liquid cooled matx case. right now its all chocked up and its not gonna allow you to have good temperatures. Such a mistep for an incredible looking case.
You mentioned about an RGB version of this case, do you have any more info about this?
Also, as you took apart the whole front panel at some point, would it be difficult to physically change the LEDs to different color ones?
Thanks in advance.
+Kuba Olejek The RGB version was shown at computex I believe but I have no more info. And you could put an RGB LED strip inside the front I/o if you just drill a hole for the cable, would be really easy to make it RGB
Found more info! As you said it was shown at Computex, it's called 301C and besides RGB it also has USB 3.1 Gen 2 (!) with a Type-C connector on the front panel. It should be available in August or September and probably will be few dollars more.

+Kuba Olejek Ayy there ya go! I'd definitely wait for that one if possible :)
do you think you could fit another 3.5" drive above the allotted space with a bit of modding?
+Chris Leach You can always fit more stuff. Might be terrible for your cable management though lol
is there a way you can change the led lights for the front io?
Please do a custom loop inside this, i wana see it.
GoopgaGaming when they announced the 301 the display pc had a custom loop. it was super crowded and actually looked messy.
the inwin 303 is better design for custom loop the 301 is more aimed for an aio cooler.
+GoopgaGaming Dude I'd love to do custom watercooling when I have the parts.
Dietec Awesome!!
Can you give us a video on how to install RGB lighting for the front panel since some of us are not a fan of the red lighting...
+Saphics - I will if I can get my hands on the 303 to mod! This one's no longer in my possession though
Thanks! props for that fast response
my door attach was accident lose and dropped how could i install it back plz
the bar inside the case was dropped and i dont know how to put it back
Can you add another 3.5 in there? I mean modding.
Can you invert this case?
i want to see a video about how to make your own decals
+TheSneakyRM I used to cut them out with a knife and now I've got a vinyl cutter. I detail this in other videos :)
Dietec which video
+TheSneakyRM GPU backplate I cut one out
Dietec ok but the whole system from where you cut the vinyl paper which it is and all in a particular video because i have planed to put a dragon on my side panel window i am modding the deepcool dukase whv2

There should be a society of white guys who look exactly like this dude. I swear I've seen so many guys that look EXACTLY like this dude, I feel like they're all clones of a secret guy creating a master race
Damn latch failed on mine and won't open no matter how I push it. Garbage

This case is HUUUGE. It's a joke.
