Weaponsandstuff93 could you burn it after doing that ? It would indeed be interesting to see how much asbestos in in there. Or open it and such. Greetings from the netherlands my dude keep making great vids.

For mask, yes. But remember, soviet Russia have 99.999.999 million other filters. As a mask owner, you cannot get disease when you breathe when filter is not damaged. Unless filter has BIG dent you should be fine
filter 2 (after the charcoal filter) can be replaced with an air filter from parts of a new motor matic vehicle. then to be more sterile you can add a material coatings from the n95 mask as the third layer. so in order to be maintained, the mask is used only once in certain of emergency conditions (usually toxic gas). mask model can be made according your taste, but using the hose as a respirator connector is better because the filter can be replaced in many times. honestly i have never made it but from the instructions of this video you can imagine the results later like what. thanks ☺️👌
I've got a Tan Mask which looks like a GP-5 , And I've throw out the filter , i may of breathed into it about 100+ times , I'm not sure if the model of filter had asbestos , I'm wondering what model of mask and filter I have.
You sir, have a lot more balls than I do. I hope you survived without inhaling any. This was a good video, thanks, although I do wonder why there was any asbestos at all in the paper section. (On a side note, theoretically shouldnt the charcoal and cotton prevent any inhalation of the fibres?)
Aye, I know that, but why bother? There was so little asbestos it would be unable to really add anything to the filters potency, so it makes little sense to use/waste it on something so trivial.
I have cut open an ekastu a2b2e2k2p3 filter and it had like suspicious looking parts that like blocked the charcoal and were put between the activated carbon and the particulate filter it hab like long thick fibers there. Also the Particulate filter didnt burn it just smelt like plastic when I put the flame under it. The filter expired in 1992 but i dont know when it was made i think in like the 1970s. Do you know if there could be any asbestos inside ?
The dangeroud stuff really is the loose asbestos dust in the mask that comes off over time, not the asbestos that is still in the filter. Because if the asbestos would just be stuck in the filter, it wouldn't go in your lungs. So that wouldn't really help much i'd think. There would still be asbestos in the mask if you just do that. Plus, without a particulate filter, its not a very helpful filter anymore. If you really wanted to fix it, you should take everything out, clean it(soap and water should be enough) put new active charcoal in and put a new particulate filter in. But at that point you could just buy a new filter.
Would a GP5 filter still be useful for safety uses after the particulate filtration section was removed? If not, I could eventually remove the particulate filter and just put the GP5 back together for cosplay and skits. Correct?
If the paint on a soviet gp 5 filter is roumered to be lead based doesn't that mean the paint on the Gp-5 metal piece would have it too? If so, would it be a concern for the household air?
Could I cut my filter open take the asbestosis off of the other half and glue it back together and have my filter without it. And I want to have the filter on just without the asbestosis im not using it for gas just for cosplay
If I were to make my GP5 filter safe by cutting the bottom of the filter off and removing the asbestos-containing filter and sealing it in a bag, and doing all of this at the end of my street, would I be potentially putting everyone around in danger? Also do construction filter masks block asbestos?
Weaponsandstuff93 But what if I were to quickly dunk the cut-open asbestos-containing filter into some water? Would the asbestos go into the water or would it not stick or something. Because even though the person I’m buying the gas mask from says that the gp5 mask and filter are brand new and will work 100% I do not trust him and want to be safe.

Is it possible to somehow block the asbest filter and still have it on? No need to work, just so i can berathe?
I did a video on that.
Would a GP5 filter still be useful for safety uses after the particulate filtration section was removed?
If not, I could eventually remove the particulate filter and just put the GP5 back together for cosplay and skits. Correct?
Only against vapour but they are long since expired, I would not recommend opening them to gut them as that is far riskier.
If the paint on a soviet gp 5 filter is roumered to be lead based doesn't that mean the paint on the Gp-5 metal piece would have it too? If so, would it be a concern for the household air?
I'm pretty sure lead paint is only a risk when it breaks up and can be inhaled.

So... you can attach the filter to the mask, if you pratically remove everything in it?
Would you be able to take the Asbestos part off of the bottom and take out the charcoal/lead stuff and be able to have a cosplay filter?
Not really, that's just going to cause more problems.

Could I cut my filter open take the asbestosis off of the other half and glue it back together and have my filter without it. And I want to have the filter on just without the asbestosis im not using it for gas just for cosplay
say, do you think that if I would open it like you did, clean from insides, clean it again and glue it, would it be safe?
If you did it really carefully then yes but it's risky as you may leave fibres inside
Which gas mask has a safer filter cause I'm getting the vintage gas mask
may use some Half facial mask that blocks asbestos and gp5 or other one at the same time solve the problem?
That's why I had the mask on at the start, because gas mask filters block inhalation of dust.
Could the drinking tube on the FM12 let in contaminated air?
Not if it doesn't have a rip in it.
I think the small shiny parts are actually asbestos, often in the filter plugs of my old GP5 filters theres a crystal like layer on it.
What small shiny parts?
Yes, small shiny parts froming a krystal like layer
I wont open the filters ever again cause im afraid this is pure asbestos
I think asbestos fibres are way too small to see.

Anybody in your house potentially. You need a P3/P100 filter to block asbestos.
Weaponsandstuff93 But what if I were to quickly dunk the cut-open asbestos-containing filter into some water? Would the asbestos go into the water or would it not stick or something. So I put the particular layer carefully inside a glass jar and closed it (+ I put duct tape on top so it won't open by accident). Random12FPS That is so fuckin dramatic dude really you had it covered
Are you trying to make the Bible goddamn
why not soak the filter in water or oil? Some kind of oil i imagine would work wonderfully as it wouldn't dry up releasing the asbestos fibers.
Oil may work but water can disintegrate the particle filter
Can a GP-5 filter made in 1989 protect against biological agents or is it only good against tear gas?
After get rid of particles filter and activated charcoal the empty can is totally safe right?
Only if you can get 100% of the contents out.
