Folks, I think Patti could take the phone book or a menu and sing them to me. Her voice and the emotions conveyed with every note are simply divine! Greetings to the world and a kiss for Patti from Peter / Germany.

This is a very fine song. I am only now noticing how good it is, a hidden gem. It is one of his more ambitious songs, but I have never heard a version by Dylan that adequately brought out the quality of the writing. This version comes closer.

This shows Patti smith very close to the mode of hers that is my favorite- her sort of "prophetic" vein. A terrific performance.

''There are men too superior to be seen except by the few,
as there are notes too high for the scale of most ears.'' -Ralph Waldo Emerson, said that.
Consider it so, if you so fathom the Dylan. -i, said that.

He knew Jung and talked about how the first Star Wars movie was an earnest if somewhat juvenile attempt at applied Jungian thought.

Gee...you people talking throughout the song, I hope you weren't bothered by Patti's singing one of Bob Dylan's masterpieces. Boy, the nerve of her singing over your all too important conversations. You buy a ticket to see a performance and then you can't keep your stupid mouth shut for even a few minutes. Next time, do others a favor and stay home.

Too bad she ruins it at the very end with the last two lines. She screws up the lyrics. She repeats partly the lyrics from an earlier verse, but ends with the intended last line. People who don't know the song won't notice though, because she's such a professional that she doesn't let us on she has slipped.
