Hi, how long do you wait between coats?

Hey Rob,. I just found this video and I have a question for you. Do you have any tips for longevity? I don't want the edges of the lines to start peeling up any time soon. It feels like it wouldn't take much to cause that (walking by and accidentally rubbing them causing an edge to roll). Do you have any suggestions to help protect the edges more or do you think they will be fine?
    Thanks!

If applied correctly the edges will stay bonded down. I've run a car fully Diped for 4 years. With massive lines and colors. Check my other vids. I never had issues with corners lifting. Cheers

My concern/question is if you have to spray 5 coats to get it covered like you want, won't the first 1-3 coats be completely dry by the time you're spraying the 5th coat? Won't this cause the dip to bond to the tape just like letting it dry for 30 minutes?

Good question. In fact each time you spray a new coat it re-wets the previous coats. This allows for peeling without bonding. Similarly you could spray the proper thinner on the dry dip and peal your tape as it wets all coats and allows a clean line. Hope this helps.

In theory can you add another layer of plasti dip to loosen it up? Also, say you want to use glossifier, how would you go about doing lines then?

Yes another layer of PD will loosen for clean lines, But if you are in the middle of pealing it is hard to spray a color and not get over spray if some of the tape has already been removed. For Glossifyer it is sprayed after all colors and coats are done, so you would have pulled all your tape for lines already. Only tape would be o molding etc and can usually be removed quickly. But the same process works for glossifyer, I have NOT tried it with any of the new TopCoat line so can not comment on that.

Is there another thinner that would work. I live in Cali and Naptha is illegal here.

Lieutenant Ballzacki I honestly don't know what you'll find in Calif. I've also used xylene but its harsher then naphtha so doubt you can get it. I'd call DYC for input.
