"YOU DON'T WANT TO DIP ANY OF THESE NEW CARS THEY MAKE. THEY HAVE ALL SORTS OF COMPLICATED COMPUTERS AND ELECTRICAL CONTROLLERS THAT MAKE DIPPING COST A FORTUNE... AND THEY NEVER LAST!! THAT'S WHY I STICK WITH MY TOYOTA CELICA. IT HAS OVER 256874756 MILES ON IT, IS EASY TO DIP, AND WILL LAST FOREVER!!"
Plasti-dip or Wrapping is a good way to preserve the original paint. My nephew plasti-dipped the hood of his Challenger black, and wrapped the rest of car in red. He changed hoods and took the Plasti-dip off the original hood. I forgot how clean that hood was when he plasti-dipped it. I can understand some people not seeing the sense in doing it. But in reality, you're actually preserving the original paint, which helps re-sale value if it ever comes to that.
That's a awesome color! Cant even tell it's plasti dip in the video. I did my emblems and that was a pain in the ass. Never would do my whole truck lol
Can't say that I like the finished product, but to each his own. I must be getting old because in my day we did everything we could to have a nice shiny car, not a dull flat finish.
Thanks Scotty. That was an excellent video. Loved the final outlook of the fellas car. Would it wreck the original paint if you ever tried to take it off?
Happy New Year's Scotty & family! Thanks for $aving me ton$ of money during 2017. I tell EVERYBODY about you. My RV group on Facebook has 92,254 members. I talk about you in there, Scotty. "Scotty for President"!
Nice now I can plasti dip all my tupperware can not wait for part two when you do the car. Anyways not living in sunny california how does plasti dip fare for us folks in colder areas will this spray protect from the harsh road salts and sand of winter driving?
No problem with salt or snow or dirt or sun or....this stuff is hardy IF applied correctly as the video shows.5 to 6 gallons on a mustang base and the 2 gallons color
how many rattle cans would i need to dip a 240sx thats begun to peel its clear coat? Whats the cost of cans vs gallons and sprayer? Would a pancake compressor suffice to get the spraying done albeit slowly?
Send an updated video in 2019 - how well will this finish hold up vs man hours of maintenance? Is it driven in heavy rain and snow with salt-covered roads?
I’m just very curious what this looks like after a couple weeks and some rain. Edit: he said it will last years with good maintenance? If that’s the case, I mean maybe this is a good option for people who want a Matt finish
Can this thing withstand the usual drive, like anything but a nice photo shoot on the driveway? Talking about rocks flying, mud, road dirt, tree/bush branches etc. I love how it looks, but I drive my car in the normal world where a lot of stuff whack the paint on a daily basis.
The car looked absolutely badass until I saw the reflective powder in action. That powder just ruins the look, as it makes the surface appear dirty or dusty. The upside is that the powder appears to only show up under direct lighting and at a close distance. Other than that, I really like the color combination and finish, and I am definitely not a fan of plastidip. But you did a great job.
It's not expensive at all. Dip points and promo codes come in handy. Most orders are shipped free, too. Wraps can start at $2000. I use this after body repair. Not spending $400/gal for auto grade paint.
Hey Scotty, is it okay if I make a video of my crappy British car that's needed several head gasket jobs to keep it alive? It now has a gremlin inside the electrics, so I need to sort that too.
Everything done correctly. Had the head surfaced at the local engine shop. 1. Original gasket failed due to elastomer seal going at ~40k miles. Normal for this car. 2. Cheap MLS gasket kit with Chinese-sized dowels holding the head off the block by a tiny fraction. Leaked out. 3. Same again. Learned my lesson this time. 4. Uprated MLS gasket. Perfect for 3k miles then "pop". Leaking inwards past the head-saver shim. 5. Went back to an elastomer gasket with no shim. Perfect now, but not going to last as long as MLS gasket. I'm going to do it again in +40k miles with an MLS "super-ultra-ultimate fix" gasket but I'll need to shim the wetliners too. They're not standing as proud as they need to be compatible with the super-ultra-insanely-overengineered MLS gasket I bought for the future.
how does this coating withstand harsh weather conditions?? for example i live in arizona where the sun and heat bakes cars. will this hold up?? or bubble up and peel?
Happy New Year!

...I hope Scotty knows that, despite having a laugh and poking a bit of fun, we still love him! ;)
That is the best looking Camaro I have ever seen, wow! Excellent choice of color, and mods. I wouldn't change anything else for the life of the car.
That plasti dip is good stuff, now I don't have to go and wrap my car, I can do it myself in my garage.
I will plastidip everything! My fridge, oven, microwave and my pets. This is gonna be great!
2 years later. How’s that working out for you
@@jtyree0226 Dude dipped himself and suffocated
@@Gunshinzero he realized he couldn't wack so he accepted his fate
@@jtyree0226 He probably plasti-dipped his keyboard, so he can't reply right now.
@@gozinta82 No he probably plasti-dipped his eyes, so he can't see right now.
Scotty should plastidip his house
He should clean his garage
LMFAOOOOOOOO!
Lol What :D
They actually have a product called RhinoShield that is used to paint upscale homes that is similar to PlastiDip!
I think the fact that you have to paint on a new coat every few weeks “to make it last and last” sort of diminishes the appeal of this stuff…
Longest video on scotty's channel?
Chef Hiro: Good Afternoon
🤣
*Quietest
I wouldn't say quietest lol
MrRangerZr1 no his live car questions are longer then this
Voice Crack 3:10 "dip". Sorry had to do it lol

Happy new year !!!! So far your videos have helped a disabled vet happy with a smile on my face !!!
That car looks awesome
That looks so good man. I’d like to go with that color or a little lighter red in a matte vinyl
That's a awesome color! Cant even tell it's plasti dip in the video. I did my emblems and that was a pain in the ass. Never would do my whole truck lol

That's not a gas mask it's a respirator.
and ... notice the "gas mask" isn't used for the 2nd coat.
Gas mask if for when you wanna get kinky
Happy New Year Scotty and everybody
happy new year!
Scotty Kilmer thank you for being a part of our Christmas video it was awesome
Happy New Year to you, too.
The only thing i like dipping is the wife, have a great new year everyone from Scotland.

Brian Lawrance happy mother's day!!!! Lol
Happy Hanukkah
Brian Lawrance happy thanksgiving
Thanks Scotty. That was an excellent video. Loved the final outlook of the fellas car. Would it wreck the original paint if you ever tried to take it off?
🤣🤣🤣 it’s made to peel
what if you have faded clear coat on your base paint and some clear coat peeling? will that show through the plasti dip?
Happy New Year's Scotty & family! Thanks for $aving me ton$ of money during 2017. I tell EVERYBODY about you. My RV group on Facebook has 92,254 members. I talk about you in there, Scotty. "Scotty for President"!
thanks for the support, happy new year!
Dude that red color on your camaro is the bomb
That is really nice, you do great work sir.
What special pearl did you add that makes it glow at night? Please I'm trying to do mine this summer.
Cool nothing like knocking the shine off of a brand new car!
Hilarious voice crack @ 3:10. 😂😂😂

Wow that looks incredible
Where did you buy the front splitter and side skirts?? Looks perfect on your ss!
Happy new year guys!
That "battery" gizmo might save my marriage! Well, maybe not. But at least you got me thinking about the battery in the car my wife drives!

Happy New Years Scotty. Hope you and the wife have a good time this year
happy new year!
i plasti diped my atv rims by myself and im only 14 and they look pretty good
Question: can you go through an automatic carwash after plasti-dip painting your car or will it get messed up?
No
Is that just red carbon and matte black or ???love the color with the black
This actually looks good.. good coverage
An awesome video. I really learnt from it.
Thank you.
Looks great!
how many rattle cans would i need to dip a 240sx thats begun to peel its clear coat? Whats the cost of cans vs gallons and sprayer? Would a pancake compressor suffice to get the spraying done albeit slowly?
Great info, not sure I'd ever do my entire car...looked ok.
I like the stormtrooper scheme better but I guess that's what's good about plasti dip. You can change the look of your car but it's not permanent.
Hey Scotty I was wondering on which is a better first car, a 1998 Honda Civic or a 2003 Nissan Maxima. Any thoughts?
Great Video Scotty, really like the color of his car.
I know the owner of the Camaro, he used to go to my school. He recently Plasit-dipped his rims in a matte bronze.
Owner of what camaro
OMG..i’ll be using this all the time❤️❤️
Little known fact - you can get that same flat-paint effect by using some 300 grit sandpaper.
another fact - you cant change the color or bring it back to factory paint after doing that.
matt b and then u really ruin the paint😂 u look smartless
Hahah i wonder how many will actually try thjs
Happy New Year
happy new year
Nice car
Send an updated video in 2019 - how well will this finish hold up vs man hours of maintenance? Is it driven in heavy rain and snow with salt-covered roads?
A person should have this in every set of wheels he owens, even motorcycles.
That looks sick! Nice work! That would have cost you at least 1500 if you wrapped it.
I. Love it, the car looks amazing with the dip
What’s the exhaust omg it’s beautiful
As soon as the mask goes on you should've immediately started talking like Tom Hardy's Bane character from The Dark Knight Rises.
That Camaro was dope af!!! Dipped and non dipped!!!
Looks great
Happy New Year Scotty! 🍾🎉🎊
happy new year!
great job
Hey man. Love your videos. I don’t use Instagram but would love to be featured.
Do you have to sand the surface to prep it or just make sure it's clean.
Nicely done....
The day you forget you plastidipped your car and take it through the 5$ express car wash lol
I dipped my Cadillac cts hood, grill and front spoiler
Will it damage your paint?
Happy New Year Scotty,,, To You and Yours...!!!!!
I’m just very curious what this looks like after a couple weeks and some rain.
Edit: he said it will last years with good maintenance? If that’s the case, I mean maybe this is a good option for people who want a Matt finish
Do you have a list of things you use to get that color and finish?
Beautiful vehicle Scott -- great job man.
Can this thing withstand the usual drive, like anything but a nice photo shoot on the driveway? Talking about rocks flying, mud, road dirt, tree/bush branches etc. I love how it looks, but I drive my car in the normal world where a lot of stuff whack the paint on a daily basis.

What a life saver!
Good to see you at 1m
Happy new year scotty
Happy new year!
Makes me want to join the Army just so I can get a Camaro LOL
what color is that? like matte burgundy?
hppy new yer scotty loved this year or so with u thnx
Happy new year
that burgundy is hitting
How many gallons total were used for 1 car? I want to change my mustang to dip red .
Hey Scotty!! 😁😁
hello, happy new year!
Thanks Scotty. If I were a rich kid and my mommy and daddy got me a new Camero I'd want to dip it on your channel too!
I've yet to see a "wrap or dip" last "years"...
Must be nice to have money to throw away
It's not expensive at all. Dip points and promo codes come in handy. Most orders are shipped free, too.
Wraps can start at $2000.
I use this after body repair. Not spending $400/gal for auto grade paint.
ono adan its not your money so why worry about it?
Yes, it is VERY nice. Try it some time ;)
ono adan it's called having a hobby bud. Car hobbies are expensive though, maybe you can start with rock collecting.
ono adan it isn’t that expensive
Hey Scotty, is it okay if I make a video of my crappy British car that's needed several head gasket jobs to keep it alive? It now has a gremlin inside the electrics, so I need to sort that too.
Bentley Turbo R?
Nope. Really crappy. It's an MG TF 115 haha.
Everything done correctly. Had the head surfaced at the local engine shop.

Looks cool, but why change it so often? Does Emmet possibly work for this PlastiDip company?
That’s cool
Happy new year! From Las Vegas the sin city nice but my Honda touring wins
happy new year!
nice
how does this coating withstand harsh weather conditions?? for example i live in arizona where the sun and heat bakes cars. will this hold up?? or bubble up and peel?
Don’t like the car but it looks good
fuck your opinion.
Panagiotis F Yo, chill out B
You hurt my feelings 😭
Sounds like you more jealous than anything everyone has their own opinion but this is a clean car especially how he did it enjoy it don’t bash on it
Chris Dew: how did I bash on it??? I said I don’t like the brand of car but it looks good! Learn to read before commenting
