The lesson here, for people who are not prepared, is you don’t have to do anything and you will be okay. Most disaster/apocalyptic movies have the same theme.
I have a theory why it would be overbudget: with the woke politics, it's probably PAC funded so they don't care, they just want people to see it. I started to become aware of this privately funded propaganda stuff, (I'll give the background for context) I opened a Little Free Library. You would think you could stock it with regular books. They want you stock it with LGBetc books. Also, they have an area on the site where you can apply to get "free" books. These are political type childrens books. Enjoyed the review.
I agree with everything you said here. I watched the whole thing thinking it might get better but it never did. Julia Roberts was too old for the role and both her and her husband were unbearable characters. I also had the thought that the people were incredibly stupid but that might not be entirely unrealistic. Which is sad.
yeah characters being stupid isn't necessarily a deal breaker because people actually are stupid in real life, but it has to be realistic. And they can't be so annoying that it makes watching the movie difficult or unenjoyable.
I liked the self driving car scene and the dilemma when two main characters go to Kevin Bacon for help, a situation that people will face. I did not care for movie. Just glad I did not have to watch Friends 😂😂😂
The self driving car scene was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen in a movie. If a cyber attack hit the US and took out the internet and likely electricity, how would a car that is using computers and sensors work in the first place, let alone navigate the windy road the main characters traveled to get to the Tesla pileup? The only cars that would work during an event like this would be cars with 0 electronics inside it.
@@garebaregoof4226 i liked it because apparently Tesla only makes them on white It just reminds me that they want to install DUI and kill switches around 2036 on new cars
To me, this movie is certainly nothing to write home to momma about, but I enjoyed watching it once, and was entertained. I was interested in seeing where the show was going.
The director said the script notes Obama sent him "scared the F out of him". At the end of the day I think if someone consulting on the script who has knowledge of the gubments plans or lack thereof on dealing with these types of situations we might watch the film with an eye on that aspect and ask what they are trying to tell us.
It was an entertaining movie, but I agree with you that it was a LAME movie. I thought the ending was lame too, because you never see if the family reunited or not.
Felt like I had to watch this movie just to see what they were going to say. Pretty lame. Decided to then read the book. The book is SO much better. Explains more & leaves out so much of the added BS…they added so many stupid things that aren’t in the book like the oil tanker, teslas, obsession with “Friends”, the neighbors high tech bunker. They even changed some of the characters ages & relationships. Pretty stupid.
Not my take at all. Sure the writing was pretty bad, but I thought the whole thing was an allegory and used a lot of different contemporary tropes. You kinda nailed it with the Ethan Hawke beta character but if you call he was the most welcoming, and understanding when they came along. If you look at the characters as tropes of contemporary society they become more layered. I thought the movie was poking fun at them all. Each one of them were flawed. The girls father was a bit too patronizing but ultimately represented a strong black father figure which I thought was a good message. He was always trying to correct his daughters racist behavior whom I thought represented the hyper militant black power type of caricatures we see. She lied to her father and later admitted that the other dad was trying to get with her, subtle but perhaps touching on the problems with we have with false accusations. The brother was mean to his little sister so he lost his teeth, I thought that was rather symbolic since he spoke so unkindly to her... I don't know I guess I'm seeing things others aren't. Plenty more to discuss but yeah that sums it up mostly w/o a wall of text. Then again J.R.R. Tolkien thought allegory was lame and we all love Lord of the Rings right?
yeah I didn't know showing guns was officially forbidden on livestreams. its still (usually) allowed on videos. So they kicked me off and i'm currently blocked from livestreaming. Hopefully temporarily, but not sure. Lame

Like Star Wars...more insight than we want to admit. They are warning us...
If things go bad, trust everyone except the cdc, the who and the obamas. Haha
Don't trust anyone besides those closest to you.
there are rumours on an "event" , appears to be a cyberattack, prepare friends and alert your dear ones to come to you and regroup, if it ever happens

Why can’t we just get into the running car 😂
Man I think my eyes are going bad.. lol

There's nothing more gay than a survival movie made from a hipster feminist perspective.
Unfortunately, there are things far far more gay 😂
This movie is racist AF too.
