I have a pair and I'll add the highback uses 2 screws that SUCK. They can spin in their oval shaped holes in the binding base, even when fully tightened. You tighten more and that specialty screw w/ washer thing strips. Arbor CS sent new hardware but highback still has play.
Good to see you're reviewing Arbor again! Hopefully you also review the new Terra Pin/Twin, Carter, and Candle!

I run these. I came from Union Force Classics. I agree with most of this review. The one area I really found it lacking was the buckle & ladder, And maybe I just got an off pair, but mine feel cheap and will slip if you prefer that extra click to really charge. Other than that, i enjoy how it works on my set up, like the MD, but Im prob going back to unions.

Did they make the high back taller when they changed from the tooless forward lean a few years ago? I have the older one in L/XL on a size 10.5 boot (thought I needed a bigger boot when I got them) and I don’t get calf bite on my Fuse boots. The tooless forward lean on the old high backs also have a bit of a tendency to open on their own so it’s no surprise that they switched away from that. The toe strap does sometimes end up slipping into the retro position but that is different on the new ones and is probably a symptom of the bindings being in too large a size.
I also get the idea that their base plate acts similar to skate tech with the curved hard plastic portion of the base plate that has the rubber insert below it and the loose fit of the mini disc in the baseplate.
I prefer their bowed out straps to the more common plastic hinge straps you see on burton et al. I find it does a better job of being out of the way for stepping in and then being where you expect it.

i've been wondering the same about similarity with Skatetech, given they're both marketing the benefit of efficient transfer to heel-toe-edges at the 4 binding corners. though does seem there'd be the BIG difference of X-System's minidisc versus the huge dead spot with big disc (plus extra hanger) of Skatetech. curious to ride both, but leaning towards the Cypress as been on Burton EST and would still like to keep close to the board feel they offer.

A guy recommended these to me, glad I didn't go for them, would have been way too stiff and that calf bite would have driven me nuts; I went with the Ride C6, love 'em. I missed the last stream but saw something about Arbor in the details, does this mean you finally got that shipment? Great review as always, happy shredding!

No that shipment is off in the ether somewhere, we borrowed a bunch from the new rep.

I can pick these up for 100 bucks, but wondering if it would be worth spending a bit more for something more comfortable. Not a fan of calf bite

Is there a chance you will be reviewing the Arbor Hemlock? I am thinking of buying those for a park deck.

What's your opinion on that X-baseplate tech?

What i want to know is how are the ankle straps. In the past you and kevin couldn’t praise the strap enough but this year i think they changed them. So how are they. Is it an upgrade or a downgrade?

Snowboarders, first opportunity ever to (maybe) board in heavy (relatively speaking) snow, while snowing, I’ll be solo in the SoCal mountains.
As a shit rider who was once pretty bad ass 20 years ago, should I go for it or pass?
Does snowboarding in a blizzard suckass?
I have a Nidecker Spectre and a Thruster. Im thinking Ill take the Thruster only 😅…
Have access to a Ride Benchwarmer and a Nidecker Merc also.
    Thanks frens.

If it gets deep forget about Big Bear. Go to Mt. Baldy and hit the far left trees on Thunder. You won't regret it.

Interestingly the highbacks in your thumbnail don't look too big, but the ones you have in front of you look massive. Shame about the ratchet releases being different too
