My first Toyota was a 2011 Highlander with 100k miles and still drove like brand new , I’ve never looked back , now own the 23 Lexus GX 460 , amazing , solid , quiet, perfection
I really really love the new Toyota Highlander 25th anniversary edition and even though they're not going to make millions of examples I feel like this is a great opportunity to get into a new vehicle despite it not being mass-produced.
That 3rd row is ridiculous! I remember when the Hilander was only a 2 row. I know every auto maker crams one in their midsized suvs but if you really need a 3rd row, just go full size. Hey Joe! those turkey legs are legit, you'd look like Fred Flintstone if you get one!
I have a Toyota highlander 2021 and i love it its simple easy to use not a lot of technology just the necessary stuff and the V6 very reliable best part. the third row i don’t mind being it too small the car is awesome it’s smooth not too big not too small i think is the perfect size suv interior is holding very well which is good 👍 😊
Joe, we are all in on this 25th Anniv Edition Highlander!!! Unfortunately, our local dealer tells us the 25th Anniv Edition vehicles will NOT make their way to dealers until mid Summer to early Fall of 2025. With only 2500 units being made total and the fact there are less than 1500 Toyota dealers nationwide, each dealer will probably get one and some maybe two max!. In fact the 2024's are just starting to trickle in now. You have the best reviews, very practical and your annologies are so easy to relate to.
The 20-current Highlander is nothing flashy. It's no Luxury crossover, it's just a basic reliable crossover that holds its value and you can trust for decades. But for the money, I would upgrade to the Grand Highlander hybrid. I do wish Toyota rolled the Highlander XSE with a Hybrid option
Although over time the flat black fades from the sun & needs to be tended to, I like having a durable material there to keep road rash/rocks away from the paint or to prevent or prolong chipping. Plus it has more of a usable or durable look. Doesn’t look so feminine.
love those wheels, you right 25th edition should be body color on the fenders. No panoramic sunroof is a zonk, plus no head up display for the 25th anniversary edition.
At $53,400 this is a really sweet ride, despite its $5k bump from last year. It's a great all around family hauler that you can DEPEND on. Honda's Pilot is a strong competitor. But I think Mazda gives more bang for buck than Toyota or Honda. IMHO.

No, both sizes are available in 2025. As 70 year olds, we don’t want the extra sized car. We will get the bench seat because we sometimes have our daughter’s three kids, and the available third row is fine for hauling an extra person through town. This will probably be our last new car and we are going with the hybrid.

Wait - I was at the fair yesterday and this vehincle wasn't there... ? The highest trim was outside and it was a Hybrid Limited in Metallic Gray - but it wasn't the 25th edition.... ????
Thanks for the video. First video of yours that I’m viewing. I love the heavy metal gray and portobello color scheme but as a sunroof lover, I agree, it’s disappointing that it’s not larger for a vehicle of this size. This takes away from the elegance and luxury, in my opinion, but I suppose they couldn’t make it larger due to placing the AC vents on the ceiling/roof? I also agree that the flat black pieces above the tires should be the same color as the body of the car and the back wiper should be hidden under the spoiler. Question for you. Not sure how tall you are, but the adult people I plan to have seated in the third row are all 5 feet tall and under. Do you think this will be comfortable for them? Thanks in advance!
Fantastic Video! We're looking at this Limited 25th Edition and there's not a lot out there about the things that make it distinctive. Your video filled in a lot of the blanks! We were wondering if the Limited 25th Edition has the panoramic backup view, but your video doesn't cover that.
😂 you were confused about Toyota putting gloss black fender flares on the 4runner. Well, now you know where the flat black fenders are... on the highlander.
We bought the 2024 Grand Highlander, and I can't help but feel disappointed when I see any ad advertising a Highlander. Our Grand Highlander has what Toyota called "design flaw," I call it "defective" because I haven't heard nor read of anyone else complaining about the air conditioner. The air conditioner in our vehicle doesn't distribute the air flow on the 2nd and 3rd row seats evenly. One of the vents on the 3rd row seat blows out very strong air while the other vents have minimal air. The hood and doors are shaky. I never imagined being so disappointed in owning a Toyota vehicle as much as I do now. I wish they would fix the issues with what they already sold before making newer models! I'm not sure I can get excited about any new models after the issues with ours.
Those wheels are extremely similar to the black ones on my xse, they have got to stop with the garbage tires from Goodyear, they didn't even last 20k 😂 not many upgrades worth trading up imo.
Only downside from my point of view is the highlander is a theft magnet up here in Canada. I work for a company that is installing insurance trackers and the highlanders, CRVs, Jeep Wranglers and the F150s are the most stolen vehicles. So I am not going with a highlander as my next purchase.
Bought my wife the 2024 xse model she loves it but when toyota comes out with the redesign new highlander and if my wife likes it then we might trade up. Or trade up to a 2025 4runner will see.
My wife ended buying a 2025 Honda pilot elite pearl white with dk brown interior wayy better choice in every way…and she owned a 2012 highlander she loved that suv traded in cause miles were getting high traded that for 23 Qx60 sensory hated that car then traded that for her pilot and she loves it she test drove the 24 platinum highlander didn’t like it she said was very cheap inside she was very disappointed drove the pilot was a game changer especially how the 2nd row and trunk how u can put the center console in the trunk and what she wanted pilot is the winner here
This looks like my 2020 hybrid platinum… of course I have the HUD 😂. Really doesn’t add anything to a normal Platinum model so hopefully it’s the same price. Do like that brown interior over my black.
It's a Highlander, who cares about it being the anniversary edition? Right? Is not like it's going to hold the value so much more. Lol. I don't think is the best SUV you can buy for the money. I know I wouldn't. This I would buy a used one. It's a Toyota!!.
Idiot not everyone likes big bulk bodies. Highlander is sleek and stylish and good midsize compared to grand. There are lot of highlanders on road compared to Grand
I’ve owned a first gen .. now a 3rd gen and have been waiting for the 25th anniversary… would definitely own this but I won’t give up my v6

I like the heavy metal color.
I used to like heavy metal in the 70’s, but I say “what” a lot because of that. Now I go with lower volume softer rock 😎
The Highlander’s got a nice mix of comfort and tech.
Awesome review ad per usual. Always great energy and camera work, knocked it outta the park Lori
Great job by you both 👍🏼
I really really love the new Toyota Highlander 25th anniversary edition and even though they're not going to make millions of examples I feel like this is a great opportunity to get into a new vehicle despite it not being mass-produced.

@@RaitisRides Let the letter [H] stand for the price. Why can't automakers set their price in stone before the vehicles get into dealerships?
I drove one in Canada in deep snow, the modes were really good in the snow. I never liked the Highlander till i drove one.
Grand Highlander is so much more roomy but this one looks better to me.
I agree with you!
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍

that 3rd row seat is a dealbreaker for sure

It definitely needs one damm...

With a 3rd row 😂

I’m so excited for this one! Are you going to review the 2025 Sienna?
I sure am, so please stay tuned!

I want body color, too!
New Highlander would look better with body color paint around the fender wheel wells. Wish they still offered the 3.5 V6, it was a smooth powertrain.
You said “don’t send her any, we’re trying to get rid of the ones she has!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I definitely love Toyota
No black wheels? Yes, please!
Agreed
Nah, nightshade would be your black wheel option.

gmс acadia 2025 has the best third row of seats among midsize suv or am i wrong?
Toyota has the best reliability and resale value.
I don’t know why Toyota won’t do a two row regular Highlander

Hmm, heavy metal. That's a cool name for its body color! My concern is that it needs a refresh.
Get a standard power moonroof. When the panoramic moonroof need repairing it will cost you $1500.00 not worth it.

Ive heard highlander has issues with the Turbo just like other toyota models that have a turbo engine in em...

Yeah that badge down low like that is all wrong. Don’t they ever fire anyone in these Japanese companies?
Exposed wipers really suck. Less chrome and more black around the windows is better

Toyota needs to look at the Hyundai Palisade, much more luxurious and more features.
