- Luke and John play Gordon Lightfoot's tune Song for a Winter's Night. I read that when he wrote this tune, Gordon was on tour in Ohio and stuck in a motel during a rainy night. It makes the song sound so much more whimsical!

excellent version well done
Very nice Guitar work
A fine cover of a great song! Gordon sure wrote some beauties!
Brave but accomplished, really great rendition -well done, very well done.😊
I loved Gordon Lightfoot and this is one of his great songs. Great cover
Wow! What an incredible sound. Telling the story by clearly articulating those wel crafted words while propeling them on a continuous wave of music. Those guitars sould amazing. And you complement each other so well. Tremendous.
Fine cover of one of many great Lightfoot songs. Sweet vocal and loved the guitars, plus the 'dubbed'- on solo...all balanced with good care. excellent work from two young guys, gladly , the flame still burns for Gord. I've been into his stuff for from the early Lightfoot days....bravo to you both.
Very nice keep up the good work
oh wow! I'm 62 and you give me hope for our world (no pressure LOL) Just do you! It is required!
Aw thank you! Haha, I'll endeavor to do so, I hope you can too!
Mich. boys - Americana, vote Orangeman.
Somebody forgot to cue the jingle bells at the end…..but maybe that would have been too much like “trying to be Gordon…” But not really. Good job, Guys. It’s my #1 Gordon composition, so if I didnt mention the lack of the bells, I think my hero would be disappointed. We saw him in concert 20 times. My husband drove me to see my “other” man: GL…50 years and still counting. 🎶🎶🫶🏻👍🏻💕🐴🐴🐴
Go Luke love your music Aunt Pat
Hey really good job. Lightfoot is the best. Any chance you would do a tutorial for this great song?
That's a really good suggestion! I'll give it a shot:)
Great performance!!!
Just beautiful :-)
SO nice guys!!
I saw Gordon in 71, front row Place des Arts , Montreal. I think this is the first cover that pretty much has the acoustic right. I use to play myself and learned 12 string after that concert. My favorite has always been "from the forest" and I guess I am that old man now. I like the two guitar arrangement and think some Jim Croce might work for you as well. Great job and good luck.
Very nice!!
Beautiful!
Nice cover and guitar work by both of you. Do you cover 'Summer Side of Life?" Where are you guys based out of?
Thank you so much! We haven't yet, but that's a great idea for the summer setlist. We're based out of the Traverse City area in Northern Michigan!
Great job!
What created the bassy, percussion effect?
Hopefully I'm thinking of the same thing - it was a combination of the transients from each of the guitars having a little bass boost, and the sound of my pinky and ring finger tapping on the body of the guitar as I played!
