Thank you for posting this video. Interestingly no Boston team has ever won an NCAA title without winning the Beanpot in the same year. That includes BU in '71, '72, '78, '95 and '09, BC in '01, '08, '10 and '12, and Harvard in '89. This could bode well for Northeastern this year if they can somehow make the NCAA tournament.
That has more to do with how loaded almost all those teams were than winning The Beanpot. Almost every BU team that won The NCAA was a favorite to win it all and the BC teams were all projected to reach the Frozen Four.
Just got finished watching this and there are a several people in this documentary that my brother, nephew, son and myself crossed paths with. Coach Bell came to our house in 1968-69 HS season and recruited my brother, who was a Middlesex League goalie. The year before (1967-68), the late Serge Boily of BU was my student gym teacher at my Parochial Elementary school in Belmont (St. Luke's). When NU won its 1st Beanpot in 1980, my nephews HS teammate unfortunately lost the FO that led to Turner's OT goal. My nephew was also a Burlington Youth Hockey teammate to Mark Fusco and won a National Title with he and Jeff Cowles, who played at BC. He won an EMass HS Title with Cowles also. My son was a Public School HS linemate to a NU Asst Captain in the late 2000's. On a side note, my best man and his 1971 Watertown High Basketball Team was inducted to The Watertown High Hall of Fame by Bob Norton. ..lol.
Matt Wright from Belmont and my nephews Belmont High football teammate scored the last Bean pot goal at the old Boston Garden and last college goal in the Hockey East Finals.

Beanpot is our local Stanley cup.
Bill Maguire from Boston College scored the first-ever goal in the first Beanpot Hockey game.

BU hockey rules
That’s funny, letting them out to go to the bar was against Jackie’s principles. He had no principles.
