- SeaWorld Orlando Antarctica Empire of the Penguin
Welcome to the bottom of the world! This themed area opened on May 24, 2013 at the Sea of Ice region replacing the former Penguin Encounter. Empire of the Penguin houses a trackless dark ride and in my opinion the best Penguinarium in the states. Since the trackless ride is not operational at the time in this video we will take a look at Inside Look tours that happen throughout the year and get a glimpse of the Magellanic Penguins that normally live at the Avian Research Building. This attraction holds nearly 280 Penguins, with seasonal light changes happening with the change of the seasons, so if you visit in may you might find it nighttime inside!
This 4 acre themed land outside the Empire of the Penguin attraction offers Glacial Collections, the place to buy a Penguin keepsake. Expedition cafe, a restaurant designed around a Antarctica research station.
Species include:
Magellanic Penguins (Normally only seen with behind the scenes tour)
King Penguin
Gentoo Penguin
Adelie Penguin
Chinstrap Penguin
Rockhopper Penguin

Thanks for joining me on this trek through Antarctica Empire of the Penguin. We'll come back and visit the Penguins again in the future as we explore some of the behind the scenes programs that SeaWorld Orlando offers. Hope you enjoy the penguins!

I love how open this exhibit is!
My favorite penguin exhibit!
Going again in March, hope that light cycle 'behaves' for the camera.
I believe the light cycle begins in May. I'll keep an ear out in the coming months. I'll let you know if the keepers say differently.
are you going to redo the older tours with narration?
Yes, I do plan on making new ones on those areas as I revisit those zoos
Too bad the ride hasn't run for several years, besides that amazing habitat, the ride would really set it apart from any other zoos penguin exhibit. Turning the air over and their cleaning schedule shows they are really trying to keep the penguins healthy. Dummy eggs-that's smart. $65 isn't bad for a personalized tour like that. Merry Christmas.
Hopefully the ride will come back into operation one day. They take very good care of the penguins, I like watching them when they go in and fees them. I did the hands on tour in San diego it was a lot of fun!
Merry Christmas! Hope you enjoy the holiday!!
