- Zoo Showcase: SeaWorld Orlando Wild Arctic
Located in the Sea of Power region of SeaWorld Orlando Wild Arctic formerly started at the Franklin Exploration Center. A support facility for Base Station Wild Arctic, here we would board a helicopter and take a short flight, in this simulation we would observe a polar bear family, go underwater with Narwhales and experience an avalanche before finally landing at Base Station Wild Arctic.
Base Station Wild Arctic is built around sailing ships that are trapped in the ice. These ships belonged to the 1845 Franklin expedition the HMS Terror & HMS Erebus. Numerous animals can be seen on exhibit here. Throughout Base Station Wild Arctic we will find hands on exhibits that allow us to compare how long we can hold our breath to the resident animals as well as weight ourselves and see how much larger these animals are. We will also find areas that show us what life is like for stationed Arctic researchers.
Exhibit 1: Beluga Whales (Oliver, Grayson, Nunavik), Harbor Seals
Exhibit 2: Harbor Seals
Exhibit 3: Walrus (Kora, Garfield, Aurora, Kaboodle)
Towards the end of the video we will also take a look at behind the scenes areas at Base Station Wild Arctic including the Walrus up Close Tour, where we got to meet Aurora shortly after her arrival to SeaWorld Orlando. The Inside Look event happens several times throughout the year and here we spot the Seals and Beluga's in their backstage areas, as well as catch a glimpse of a lone Harp Seal.
Thanks for joining me! -Brad

@@lildeezy8756 I will have to add that to my upcoming list of zoos to visit this year!
What a great simulator. Oliver and Gracie are amazing animals. We saw harbor seals and walruses in the wild in Valdez. They have amazing exhibits and animals.
Seeing Walruses in the wild would be amazing. I hope to be able to visit Alaska one day and see them. San Diego is another fantastic spot to see seals in the wild! Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Walruses are so cute!
Agreed!
I love walruses! I wish more zoos had them.
I agree! I'm lucky that that I can walk up there and visit them just about anytime.
Very nice video. This was my third favorite exhibit at sea world orlando.
Thank you! I enjoy this area, would like to see them bring Polar bears back or rework the area where the ride is into newer habitats.
@@ZoosTravelers I would like for polar bears to be back as well
In all, nice I just really want to see a walrus
Hopefully you will spot one soon!
@@ZoosTravelers I tried in Indianapolis and they were off display
