This "other boyfriend" called in at about 9:40 am, the end of the show, after another caller reminisced about Gary's breakup 11 years earlier providing so much laughter on the show. During that call was the first time Gary admitted to cheating on Nancy and only going back to her when the other girls dumped Gary. Before he had denied cheating. It's worth noting that on another show where Stern discussing he can get every staff person upset with one sentence Stern stated he knew Gary's cheated on his wife Mary. They talked an extra hour due to doctor's call. note the recording is an hour and 20 minutes.

Gary and Tom were a team for the Death Pool. For some reason, Gary did a real Baba Booey mistake: He sold Walter Matthau to Howard for only $100 (yes, only $100), without consulting his teammate Tom. Tom was very pissed and they lost money together
I can't believe they didn't just tell Gary they'd give him the money but then after watching the tape take the money back. That would have been the cherry on the sundae.

He stated he isn't a doctor and used to work in the psychiatric unit 01:28. Stern didn't know anything about the guy and the "doctor" was running bit they did because the girlfriend, Nancy, was nurse and the other guy worked in the hospital. Back in spring of '88 Stern used Gary's breakup for many bits. The "doctor" hinted at this when he stated 01:40 Stern used to play a song, "who's making love to Gary's lady"', every morning. Sirius made a 20 year anniversay edition of this saga and pulled some of the 1988 shows where Stern berated Gary over his behavior.
