Howard had stopped ripping on the celebrities for their hypocrisies. Marci Turk was either already there or about to arrive. The bans of irreverent guests like Gilbert were nearly all in place.
All they still had left from the old days were intra-staff fights - but there were so few of the other old show elements, they had to lean way too hard into these staff fights, and they went on way too long.
