Dan Jones is a UK icon of history podcasts and BBC history series. Not many Americans are going to know who he is and won't really appreciate his knowledge or what he has to say. He is brilliant. He is also direct. He knows how to make history relatable.

Bill was right actually when he asked "How do we know all this?" to which I think the "they could write" was an insufficient answer since writing has existed for milleniums. The answer should actually include- which records, written by whom, how biased, how accurate, etc. For example, we know nothing about the life of Shakespeare despite his popularity, and in fact there are doubts about whether he even existed or not.
Moreover, a king writing about himself or asking his court to write about himself is propaganda, mainly. This is what historians don't like to admit since it casts doubt on more than half the materials they have to work with which deals with "finer details" about people in the past. On the other hand, if this king's French opponents or some other foreign neutral party wrote something praiseworthy about him, then that would be much more believable.

In the beginning of your show, you discussed how wonderful America is, and by the end you were putting everything in America down . Our government, our healthcare, our education system, and guns and gun laws are not on par with other western countries. I’m 55 years old and I’m starting to realize we have our own little propaganda going on here in our own country. Sure maybe we are a superpower, but not really - as China has been proving that recently. You need to admit that other European countries do provide far more for their citizens than we do. For the important things, not just welfare. Education, and a basic safety net for all people. Education is still relevant and so very important, yet you put it down. The dumbing down of America started decades ago. There are too many stupid people here in our country.

There are a lot of things that started in the Reagan Revolution that we are having to deal with for the past decades.
Before Reagan, federal assistance went to education and made higher education affordable. Reagan ended that, leaving the states to operate it on their own with the promise of federal money. It didn't take long for the fed money to dry up, forcing the states to raise taxes and tuitions.
This also affected the environmental protections the federal government had been running. It was left to the states but eventually without federal support.
Much of the resentment that got Trump elected was a result of Reagan's policies on taxes and federal aid to the states. The loss of prosperity for the working and middle classes left us all feeling left out.

S. border are the ones being used in crime sprees throughout Canada. He was using the border as an excuse. He's coming to get us and there's not a damn thing we can do to stop him. If Trudeau hadn't bankrupted us, we could wait him out, as economically painful as that would be, but we can't afford to and he knows it. What will it feel like to have presided over the end of the best country in the world, built by the ancestors of tens of millions of Canadians, including mine, over the past 500 years? Trudeau won't give a sh*t bc he can afford to live anywhere he wants. For the rest of us, it will be complete devastation at the loss of our home as we know and love it. I LOVE my country. I'd love it more if FJT had never been born and I will love it more when he leaves. Gitmo's lovely this time of year...or his precious Gaza, where at least a billion of our tax dollars have gone to fg t*r r* rists. If DJT can at least deport Trudeau and every fg WEF loser who've lorded it over us for the past 10 years and destroyed our home, then at least ONE good thing will come from DJT annexing us against our will. 💔🇨🇦

Not sure why you didn't post the Noonan interview, but Bill, have you been struck in the head??
    "Will you visit crash?"
"What? It's the water. Do you expect me to swim?
    "It was a stupid question."
YOU used to be the one calling out Tr*mp's toddler like thinking.
Now YOU think the question was asking if he would physically stand where the aircraft ended up??
He was also asked if he would meet with the victims' families and/or the first responders and he blew that off too.
Once upon a time, you'd call out the fact that he will find the one family member who's MAGA and stand next to them with thumbs up and that pasted on smile and declare how whatever he says/does is right because this family member stands with him.
And your blather about "what they're teaching kids"?
FFS Bill, no one's teaching them America is bad or broken - THAT'S TRUMP'S TALKING POINT!
Schools ACKNOWLEDGE America is not perfect and have moved away from the jingoism and whitewashed history of the past, again, something you USED to call out.
Peggy, kids in difficult situations can't just walk out the door and see hope, especially now - as #IQ45 is trying to LITERALLY cancel the programs that HELP them.
Max Brooks said INVEST in good childhood nutrition so kids are healthier and learn. Yet in the EO purge, Tr*mp is cancelling those very programs and MAGA-GQP reps are floating proposals to make kids WORK for their school lunches, apparently MarkWayne Mullin never read Oliver Twist.

I don't understand your point. We don't fill out a forum because we don't have any say in anything, which was never an issue until now. Kids accept what they are. It wasn't something that kids even thought about until they made it seem normal to be the 0.1 percent of people born with gender dysphoria. That's why normalizing trans shi* has 1/3 of kids thinking they are LGBTQRSTUV+

The audience reactions on Real Time can feel unnatural, especially since they seem to clap and whoop for everything, even when guests are making completely opposing points. It makes it seem like they’re just there to cheer rather than actually react to the substance of the discussion.
The fact that Whoop Guy is always there and loudly reacting makes it even worse. It’s almost like he’s a built-in hype man for the show rather than a genuine audience member. There’s almost never any audible disagreement or boos, which is weird for a show that’s supposed to thrive on debate.

Finally we get Billl's take on ELONl's "awkwad gesture` ... and of course he defends it as just trolling, no big deal". To quote one of his frequent RT guests Katherine Rampell:
"If it's so normal, do it right now on LIVE TV." 😩
There was a reason Maher deliberately chose to skip the heart holding part of the salute in his mono joke. Whatever happened to calling out BS no matter which side? 🤨

I haven't watched Real Time in a while, Bill has become more and more unlikeable that past couple years. I decided to with this show and he's even worse. Still spending half the show like an old man yelling about the younger generation. And i can't believe he is still going on about where the virus came from and how he was one of the first to say it was a lab yadda yadda yadda.

Bill, I subscribe to "MAX" because of you; and John Oliver. I have to say sometimes "Overtime" Needs to go Overtime, This episode is one of those times. You and your staff do such a great job of picking guest. Don't ever stop. We (as in me and all those that don't speak up for some reason) love this show and do not want you to stop.

I happen to frequently participate in surveys from a couple firms (YouGov, universities, etc.) and they always asked my thoughts on AI and Crypto. I always spoke vehemently of their danger, their unregulated arc of corruption and our eventual demise if not carefully monitored and tracked. This started 3-4 years ago. Obviously, they didn't really care what we commonfolk thought. The Broligarchy was going to do what the Broligarchy does: Everything self-dealing and to hell with society's future as a whole.
