I know that this F-14 module hasn't been released yet but I have a quick query about a future DCS module. Now that you have virtually mastered the AI RIO, and your modules are the best released to date - a lot of DCS'ers are wishing for a RAF Tornado to be developed. Your team appears to be best placed for this challenge - are you considering another 2-seater for DCS and, if so, would you look at the Tornado?
Brilliant idea, the assisted startup! But is that normal the intercom sound has so much static? Never heard that in an aircraft, it sounds as if some part of the circuit was not grounded correctly and catching signal crosstalk. I know the F-14B is a few years back, but I think this technology was already well mastered back then ;-)
Agreed, it's way over-done. There's a horrible intercom hum sound when the Jester menu is up too that I believe they've said they're going to reduce, but unless it's by 100% it won't be enough.
Most jets have that him in real life but it's far worse. I work on the A-10 and it will leave my ears ringing after listening to it for less than 10 minutes
OHH god what did I just discover, I play Jane's in 199, and haven't touched a game like this all these years. Just started to get into sims again, was looking for a flight sim, and thought is there something like Janes out there, modern of course. I watched a Jane's and seen the guy speaking and teaching you the basics, and remember all that stuff and got excited. I discover this game, DCS, search some videos,I come here and my mind MELTLED. WTF did I just discover?!?!?! and where have a been all these years???
Very cool, but is there so much static hissing noise via the intercom in real life too? I think it is a bit too much, as inside the cockpit it is a cable connection after all, it can't pick up so much noise electronically. I guess...
Wow cheers jabbers, never thought about Voice Attack but just purchased it because it think with how you used it in this tutorial it feels like youre part of the crew. and holy shitballs that sound at the end was freakin awesome wow!

hi there! just got the F-14 and loving it so far. now it's time to fly it :) ...so, I'll take it that this is the official start up guide since I just can't find it online in writing and since you are the creator, I'll get it from the best source. Now, I'm very new to tech in the 2000's and I really need to know how to talk to the chief like you are doing. I feel if I can just get over this step the rest will fall into place.
Couple questions on the assisted startup, first is this something that can be done in missions and multi-player or is it like a tutorial? And also can the orange indicaters be eventually disabled by the user when they are more familiar with the cockpit? This looks amazing BTW!
@@Jabbers Awsome thanks I appreciate it, using Jester to confirm startup checklists and other procedures like this seems like such a refreshing idea for DCS, I'm excited to see what else is in store!

Turning the hydraulic transfer pump off...never could get that one. You’d think merely closing the switch protector would turn the switch back to the normal operating position. For the life of me I couldn’t click the switch under the lifted guard with TrackIR.
D D Set your “neutral” head position far forward in the cockpit by leaning close and clicking TrackIR. By default, your head is in the middle of the cockpit, so lean back a little.
Little off the runway centerline on takeoff there! Where did you get that the required lights were none? Reason I ask is that typically you have the wing lights on as soon as power is applied and the beacon light on engine start.
@@MongooseTacticool I'm quite positive heatblur and ED have...like a billion other, more important things to finish first. no point in wasting resources on something most players skip anyhow. you want some static external models, download VPC mod or something. Do you mean - check if the stabilisers move (externally) or check if a the trim display in the pit moves. I can't see any movement in either. Guidance greatly appreciated
I really like the voice attack option with Jester for the start up check list. I think it would be cool though if there were other options for "check" though. I know that's a lot of work but for real world pilots a lot of times they'll respond as, RIO "Set emergency hydraulics to auto" Pilot "emergency hydraulics auto" or RIO "check engine instruments within normal parameters" Pilot "normal parameters" or something like that. Would be fun. And also be able to use "check" or "set". Also the ground chief should be able to speak to the crew via Comms since we cant see them in the game. "Ground power disconnected"
Todo este procedimiento es muy interesante..ahora en caso de un Defcon1 este procedimiento llevá mucho tiempo!! No hay manera de acelerar los tiempos de despegue??? Gracias
@heatblur I've spent the last ~2+ years in mourning because the F14B is so wretched STR/ITR/TWR/lift-wise in BFM. Also the fragile flap damage model neutered it below 300kts. Simply amazing Heatblur! I have a question about the order of the checklist on the carrier. Obviously, you cannot swing out the wings, if you're parked tip to tip with the next Tomcat on the carrier. Does Chester recognize that and respect it? Means, does Chester use another order of the checks on the carrier, so that the wing sweeping checks are done just before launch?

Because they were so ready to sell broken viggen on summer sale last year and now suddenly they are all very focused on polishing F-14?
List is long, in short i voted with my wallet against their shenanigans. Once module is actually really on offer ill get one. They can stick "2 more weeks" crap where sun doesnt shine.
@@KuvDabGib cant you just keep it to yourself since noone wants to see ur whining on every comment?
@@goosebumps1-154 Am i hurting your white knight feelings? Are your fan boy emotions now crushed ?
You do realize nobody is forcing you to even watch or read t his? yes? Yet you think it is mandatory to reply so.. what is the problem?
In any case - Im so sorry, that was not my goal - i simply wanted to point out that HB needs new PR approach with more realistic release dates( despite that nobody ever died we never got 2017 release for example) and they need to cut with pointless HYPE which lasts for months and months.. At the end that will cost them money because nobody likes his chain being yanked over and over and over with zero results..
Wow what a challenge and great footage, I truly appreciate this video, thanks for all the details
I just love looking at those Turkey feathers.
Time to hit the Books I say.... Great Work lads.. great work.. keep it up.
My God that afterburner is beautiful!
Wow excellent timing I was just reading the section in the manual when I got the notification!
Outstanding stuff! Well done... Nick
Hello guys , i don't know how to appreciate you , you did a big job
OHH god what did I just discover, I play Jane's in 199, and haven't touched a game like this all these years.
Just started to get into sims again, was looking for a flight sim, and thought is there something like Janes out there, modern of course.
I watched a Jane's and seen the guy speaking and teaching you the basics, and remember all that stuff and got excited.
I discover this game, DCS, search some videos,I come here and my mind MELTLED.
WTF did I just discover?!?!?! and where have a been all these years???
man you've been too lost
Very cool, but is there so much static hissing noise via the intercom in real life too? I think it is a bit too much, as inside the cockpit it is a cable connection after all, it can't pick up so much noise electronically. I guess...
Wow cheers jabbers, never thought about Voice Attack but just purchased it because it think with how you used it in this tutorial it feels like youre part of the crew. and holy shitballs that sound at the end was freakin awesome wow!
Guys, thank you for a great module! I'm happy!
BRILLIANT! Is there a "scramble" mode for Jester with a "quick" start checklist and actions?
pretty much as soon as the engines are started, start cutting out instrument tests, just get the hud up, do your control surface checks free and clear during taxi, flaps slats and wingsweep functional, hook up to the cat and go, you can tune and test instruments when airborne
@@aviator2252 great, thank you sir!
@@charlesmagrin6260 Pretty much like any DCS module, most of the regular startup contains tests of some sort, which can be cut out easily since 99% of servers give you pristine jets to fly so no need to worry about random bits failing.
Instead of trusting the plane captain because we can't hear him with our cockpit closed, can't he tap the fuselage twice?
A lot more complicated than the F16 cold start! Wow!
Wars are usually over by the time F-14 crews complete their startup procedures. 🤣
Heatblur out here doing God's work
Now this is epic.
I FEEL THE NEED FOR SPEED
please release sometime soon ;-;
He said Release is very soon YAY!!
Twoooo weeeeeks (face segments off)
2017 be sure!
@@Chromiumg Total Recall :)
@@MongooseTacticool : are you ready for a surprise?
Jabbers I love that you are doing these, great decision by the HB team to bring you in for it as a trusted source of information, that and Greywolf as Jester just makes it even better... Now, where's the video of you two on a mission?
Loved it. Because of this jet and your review, I am replacing my Saitek pedals with a set of TPR pedals. Tomorrow. I'm hoping that will also help with driving a Spit, and copters...can you share a Warthog HOTAS profile for the Tomcat?
hi there! just got the F-14 and loving it so far. now it's time to fly it :) ...so, I'll take it that this is the official start up guide since I just can't find it online in writing and since you are the creator, I'll get it from the best source. Now, I'm very new to tech in the 2000's and I really need to know how to talk to the chief like you are doing. I feel if I can just get over this step the rest will fall into place.
Those rattles and clinks ohhhhh gimmie
This is wonderful beyond belief!
Im in love with her. This Bird is so beautiful
Can you please make a startup guide for a scramble type situation.
Thank you, beautifully done.
Really nice work.
Couple questions on the assisted startup, first is this something that can be done in missions and multi-player or is it like a tutorial? And also can the orange indicaters be eventually disabled by the user when they are more familiar with the cockpit?
This looks amazing BTW!
TheGuyWithARock yes in a mission and MP, and you can’t turn the indicators off afaik
TheGuyWithARock but I’ll report as feedback and see :)
@@Jabbers Awsome thanks I appreciate it, using Jester to confirm startup checklists and other procedures like this seems like such a refreshing idea for DCS, I'm excited to see what else is in store!
@@bretten911 Very refreshing and unique from Heatblur.
@@bretten911 hi Rock
I love these cockpit sounds
CONNNNNNNNNTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENTTTTTTTTTT
Mannn i sure hope Dale Snodgrass, Okie and all the other badass Tomcat fathers see these video! It would be awesome to see what they think
Great Video Jabbers!
Glass cockpit? bigger multi-function colour displays? Sparrowhawk HUD? 'Digital Flight Control System' for automatic trimming across the envelope?....... give us the F-14D Super Tomcat for the love of God!!!
Not to mention IRST
@@Hairysteed not to mention the APG-71 'digital' radar also
Man, can't wait to get it in my hand.
I was not going to sleep anyway
Little off the runway centerline on takeoff there! Where did you get that the required lights were none? Reason I ask is that typically you have the wing lights on as soon as power is applied and the beacon light on engine start.
Chief can not hear you with canopy down unless you turn on the intercom system. It is located next to the left of the TACAN radio.
With that speed break test aren't you supposed to hold the button in to only partial then retract first time? Shows a different flag I think
Any plans to add external models for air and electrical unit?
Asking the real questions. ...not
Like in the Community A4...
@@unusualbydefault why not? It would be cool to see ground crew and give a visual indication of progress.
@@MongooseTacticool I'm quite positive heatblur and ED have...like a billion other, more important things to finish first. no point in wasting resources on something most players skip anyhow. you want some static external models, download VPC mod or something. I think it even includes air and electrical units. tbh, the question of op is a bit aggravating ^^ it's like watching a showcase of a high end sportscar and ask "will it come with a matching keychain?"
@@unusualbydefault yeah I get your point. Put it on the "nice to have" list. But watching bombs magically appear on the wings can be immersion breaking. Just an observation.
13m:30s in we are checking the speed brakes extend, partially then fully. You are to verify that the trim moves. I can't see anything moving. Do you mean - check if the stabilisers move (externally) or check if a the trim display in the pit moves. I can't see any movement in either. Guidance greatly appreciated
Those sounds and that bedeviller skin ❤️
Highway to the danger zone..
Gonna take ya right into the danger zone..
Just had to put that out there :p
I really like the voice attack option with Jester for the start up check list. I think it would be cool though if there were other options for "check" though. I know that's a lot of work but for real world pilots a lot of times they'll respond as, RIO "Set emergency hydraulics to auto"
Pilot "emergency hydraulics auto" or RIO "check engine instruments within normal parameters"
Pilot "normal parameters" or something like that.
Gracias
A FREE TRIAALLLL LOVE YOU HEATBLUR
OMG can't wait since I pre-ordered!!!!!
@heatblur I've spent the last ~2+ years in mourning because the F14B is so wretched STR/ITR/TWR/lift-wise in BFM. Also the fragile flap damage model neutered it below 300kts. When you guys frailized/fragilized the F14B flaps and it went from being so awesome at BFM to being so wretched at BFM, part of me died.
Well I guess voice attack will be seeing a nice spike in their sales today. 😜
Been resisting it until now as although cool, I couldn’t see any reason for me to get it.
🤔🤔🤔🤔
Now currently downloading and installing. 😂
Absolutely stunning work guys
Simply amazing Heatblur!
I have a question about the order of the checklist on the carrier. Obviously, you cannot swing out the wings, if you're parked tip to tip with the next Tomcat on the carrier.
Does Chester recognize that and respect it? Means, does Chester use another order of the checks on the carrier, so that the wing sweeping checks are done just before launch?
These vids are coming in fast and hard...Gotta be releasing really soon. CANT. F***ING. WAIT.
