I think that the only good thing coming out of the F-14 being decommissioned is the buttload of detail that heatblur got on his hands to make it come back to life on our PCs
Still, I'm not sure they can simulate everything since some systems are probably still used with newer jets, albeit upgraded (proper IFF and ECM controls in this case).
@@ArcherAC3 IFF controls are well known since long time. The only thing that remains unknown is crypto algorithm, however it is not needed at all to make full real simulation. As long as it goes for M4 at least (F-14 never got M5).

@heatblur I've spent the last ~2+ years in mourning because the F14B is so wretched STR/ITR/TWR/lift-wise in BFM. Also the fragile flap damage model neutered it below 300kts. When you guys frailized/fragilized the F14B flaps and it went from being so awesome at BFM to being so wretched at BFM, part of me died.
ED: We need to approve the F-14 because we cannot release bugged modules! ED: *breaks the F-18 with a regular patch* Can't we just get it now and be done with it? It's getting silly, lol.
Your logic makes no sense, there's a big difference between releasing a product in a stable working condition and a stable working product breaking because of an update. If you know updates have the potential to cause bugs then why would you want to compound the issue by releasing an unfinished product that already has bugs before any updates have even been applied? Nobody wins in that scenario, customers get a buggy module with a linger early access period, ED gets hate for allow this to happen again, Heatblur loses reputation as their highly anticipated module will be the same unfinished products we're used to, but with prettier graphics.
Whooo hooo! Can't wait! Question: will there be an in-cockpit pilot/RIO model available at EA launch? Both myself and my RIO use VR, so it's best for immersion to have those models ;-) Thanks!
Seeing some comments on the used 21:9 format, I wouldn't say I hate them, but I'd very much prefer 1080p over 1920x810 as well. Or you could up it in a higher res which I guess is what it runs on anyway (as I highly doubt there are 1920x810 screens), so we could at least see those videos in 16:9ish format by using VLC (there's a feature that can cut the video playback so it fits your screen) without the image blurring up by scaling 810 pixels up to whatever our screen shows. I'm on 1920x1200 BTW, having 2 60px bars doesn't hurt, on the other hoof 1920x810 makes almost a third of my screen black bars. Especially in academic video series, I'd really appreciate to be able to actually see what's being explained there. It's a good map, but be aware that it can be demanding on your pc, especially if you are in downtown Dubai with the heavier modules like F/A-18 or (suprisingly) the Yak-52. So if your performance is very good in other maps, you will probably not have any problems. However, if your performance is only marginal in Caucasus, then it will need some graphics tweaking to run properly in the Persia map. Also, the map is not finished yet, and there are some minor bugs, like weird FPS slowdowns in some locations. But it's very well made so far.
