The damage to both Russia and Ukraine in the invasion of Ukraine was devastating.
It was only four months after the September 2022 video summarizing the number of damages to the main land weapons of both armies. The damage was exasperatingly extensive.
So we analyzed the war situation in Ukraine based on the number of weapons lost by both sides as of September 2022 and as of January 2023.
On average, Ukraine has lost nearly twice as many weapons in the past four months as it had lost as of September, and despite recent reports of Ukrainian superiority, in percentage terms alone, Ukraine has been increasing its losses at a similar pace to Russia.
However, the situation in Russia and Ukraine is quite different in terms of weapon systems, scale, and support from other countries, and the damage is different depending on the type of weapon.
