  • First the horn, and then the rear brake pads. What is next?! After replacing the rear brake pads, I found out that the front rotor is warped. Replacement parts are listed below:
    Universal 48v horn: amzn.to/43N18LY
    Shimano B05S-RX Brake Pads: amzn.to/42Sidmy
    Bucklos 180mm Disc Brakes: amzn.to/43ZlBxa

    Thank you for sharing the brake pads that you used. My Brat is long overdue for new pads.

    Finally a user review of some type. Trying to find reviews of this bike not easy. (Am looking to purchase if reviews seems good)

      I am working on an honest initial review video with pros and cons. I got less then 40 miles on the odometer and going to a cycling event today to get a reaction from others. I don’t know when that video will be post it, but I will try to get it up by the end of next week.

      @@JorgeMejiasBorgen how about you try the "beachman 64"? I think is better than volcon.

      @@camtono743 There isn’t a dealership here in Florida that carry them, and I would be happy to try out more e-bikes, but they cost money and take up space. I don’t have either of them right now. If I had a business where I can try out e-bikes all day, (clears throat while pointing at the subscribe button), I would be happy do it.

    Had brake issues on my BRAT as well. Volcon sent over a new set but since I'm in Cali there are no local dealers so I had to replace them myself. As for the squeaking on the front, mine was caused by the light connection wire rubbing between the frame and the light.
    Great bike! Love mine as well. Just the little things that should've had a bit more attention to detail on.

      I spoke with the service department, and they informed me that a local third party company assembles the bikes for them before they are delivered. My dad went through the same issue with his recumbent bike. The Trek dealership where I bought the brake pads informed me that it is common to have these issues in the bicycle industry. Everything has been fixed on my bike, and I need to do a follow up video.

      Volcon sent you a bike with a set of brake pads?

      @JorgeMejiasBorgen like the disk brake parts. Sorry I meant the disk brake but I'm used to bmx so I said pads lol

      @@oramibunn you are right. Disc brakes have brake pads. You are lucky that they supplied you with spare parts.

    i just saw this bike for the first time today 9/29/23 loved the look and I would have bought it but I pre ordered the Raev bullet GTX earlier 09/07/23 and even one bad video might turn me off. I have an Lectric XP 1.0 857 miles no issues with a $900. bike. Enjoy the rides. :) Hudson Florida

      Another Floridian! How you doing neighbor?! 😂 anyways… The rides are enjoyable when the brakes actually perform well. Someone brought up the RAEV GTX to me, recently. It looks like it is equipped with everything I wish the Volcon Brat should have come with. Let me know how things go when you get it. My next bike will be a motorcycle, tho’.

    How many miles did you put on it before these problems with the brakes?

    • @JorgeMejiasBorgen
      @JorgeMejiasBorgen  6 місяців тому

      The bike has less than 100 miles, today, and I’ve noticed the problem within the first 10 miles. I managed to make the issue tolerable, but it is not fixed. I am still working on that video. I have to be tactful about it because I don’t want to shine a big negative spotlight on a product that I like.

    I had the same squeaking problem on my Brat. I changed the pads and it disappeared. The only other issue I had was the plastic plate under the battery. It breaks rather easily...fyi.

    Hello I was looking into this bike and since this is one of the few videos posted on this bike I was hoping you could answer two questions for me. Is the torque on this bike good? And would it be able to handle going up the hills in Southern California? Thanks

    • @JorgeMejiasBorgen
      @JorgeMejiasBorgen  11 місяців тому

      In normal mode, torque is adequate. In off-road mode, there is a big difference in acceleration. I can’t really compare it to any other e-bike, because this is the only one any dealership allowed me to test out. I’ve been to a Trek and Cannondale dealership, and both did not allow me to move any of their e-bikes anywhere near the door. To answer your second question, it has a 750W motor, single speed, and weighs 86lbs. When you add the riders weight and incline, it might struggle a bit. I live in Florida, so I’ve had no issues so far going up an incline. Other bikes with a similar setup would probably perform the same. If you add multiple speeds in the mix, it might have better torque to tackle inclines like the ones you mentioned. They are pricy compared to the Brat.

      @@JorgeMejiasBorgen Would you maybe recommend this bike due to its speed, durability, and suspension?

    • @JorgeMejiasBorgen
      @JorgeMejiasBorgen  11 місяців тому

      @@samapfel_08 Volcon is in the business of making dirt bikes and SxS, so I have to say that both the frame and suspensions are solid. The brakes are Shimano, so I don’t see any major issues there. With less than 50 miles on the odometer, the battery and motor are still a mystery to me. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a cruiser bike that can travel well both simple on- and off-road trail. Speed is adequate on both of these terrains. Also, please keep in mind. It is not a traditional E-Road bike or E-MTB, so the seat cannot be adjusted.

      @@JorgeMejiasBorgen Thanks so much for responding and sorry but i have just one more question. Do you think it could handle wheelies? Ik you are not allowed to probably say that I should do them on the bike but is the seat high enough for them?

    • @JorgeMejiasBorgen
      @JorgeMejiasBorgen  11 місяців тому

      You do not have to apologize for all the questions. I have no problems answering questions. Now, to answer the wheelies question, Volcon states that "riding over stairs, performing wheelies, taking it off jumps or doing stunt/trick-like activities" will void your warranty. Will it be able to handle some wheelies? The shocks probably can, but the wheels are a different story. You can replace the wheels with something more aggressive that would fit 20" X 4" MTB fat tires. Furthermore, the bike is the size of a small adult size dirt bike. The seat height is high enough for my height (5'10"). However, if you are 6 feet or higher, you might have some comfort issues. Oh! And by the way, I did a short speed test video on my channel: ua-cam.com/video/KOipoXoXyLM/v-deo.html
