- At the Overland Expo East I had the chance to test the all-new VOLCON Grunt, the Most Powerful Electric Bike. It was the most unique e-bike experience I have ever had! So, I made a short video about it.
This bike is not intended to be like a typical urban electric ebike. Its designed to be a all-terrain workhorse for backwoods, countryside, or farm settings. It's not built for speed, it's built for power.
Max speed - 40 mph
Weight - 330 lbs
Seat height - 32 inches
Range - up to 75 miles*
Load capacity - 400 lbs
Towing capacity - 750 lbs
Front suspension - inverted fork
Rear suspension - coil spring & hydraulic
Front brake - two-piston hydraulic disc

Just took delivery on my Grunt last week. This thing has a simple, clean design, well built, and just a blast to drive. Quiet ride on wooded trails and climbs hills like a boss. A dirt bike that likes to get dirty!! American made in Texas. Dig it.

Hey! Question, how did you purchase it? Is it street legal by the way?
I ordered mine direct from Volcon, but now they use dealers. It’s an off-road dirt bike, not street legal.
Designed as an off road only electric monster it should have a front hub motor to make it 2x2. Then it would be the dogs.
Is there a 2x2 variant?
I was at Overlanding Expo East this year, too, and took some test rides on the Volcon bikes. They are super interesting at this point, but I’m not impressed enough to ditch my other electric bikes and scooters for one. I like the idea of the big fat tires for off-road adventures, and there is plenty of low speed power available, which appeals to me. Too bad I can’t take a dozen different bikes with me as I travel about.

I recently got the freego ev 1200 .. freaking awesome e moped..30mph .. about 45 Mile range..so much fun..

I dig the fat tire electric concept, but the price on is ridiculous and from the other videos I have watched on this bike the quality isn't up to par either.

interesting but only 40mph & not street legal = not practical for me , but i have been considering buying a 'ZERO' electric motorcycle = off road and street capable and legal , 85mph top speed 298Lb's , modern suspension & brakes ,100 miles range $13800 USD ?? id wish for a bit more range but they are getting there
It’s more designed to be a workhorse on a farm I think. Not for traveling the world. Ride trails. Backwoods. Farmland. Tow heavy loads.

I don't recommend any bike because of the high bike theft rate in the North America. The bike thieves equip with high powered tool like the electric angle cutter that can cut through all locks in minutes. I am a long time cyclist on two wheels and used to ride in all weather in Vancouver, Canada. It rains most of the year so I have rain gear. The rain gear is an extra gear that I need to take care of. And lastly, during the winter, two wheels need studded tires to prevent falling on black ice.
Know the feeling .edmonton is the same, homeless all hours of the night going with bike frames and rims .I think they ride them till the brake the sell them to scrap dealers
40 mph? My Chinese escooter that I drive in China is faster, and it cost 1/10 the price.
