Remember that fish keeping is truly a fluid situation and what works for one set-up might not work for another. Do plenty of research gathering information from several reliable sources before making any changes in your aquarium.

Ben,
So glad it was only heater malfunction and not actual disease that took the fish out. I had a disease wipe out my tank a while back it was the most devastating experience I ever had. It almost made me quit the hobby. I took a break and rethink my situation and now I have a tank of beautiful CA/SA cichlids. Patience is key in this hobby and I rushed my last tank which caused a crash that killed the fish.

I applaud your efforts, sir. I'm too much of a worrier to do that. I definitely would have broken the tank down, sterolized it, and let it completely dry out before doing anything with it again. Keep us posted! ❤

I think current popularity in fish depends on your situation and floor space. I notice Killies, and Goodeids are very popular now but I am definitely a cichlid person with large tanks for African, Central, and South American cichlids..love them

The hat was a prototype and I don’t like the lettering so it’s okay on camera but I wouldn’t sell it. I’ll have a channel hat someday. The Teespring hat creation app is not the best.

Love the Inkbird for peace of mind! Question for all our fish friends, do we simply change out our heaters once a year? Has it come to this? It truly seems tech is going backwards in reliability.

They are absolutely going backwards. Heaters especially. I've moved away from them entirely and started keeping species that I can keep at my average room temps.
