I have night terrors and I have learned to embrace them. Whenever I have one and I wake up I tell myself people pay money to go to the movies and have this kind of adrenaline rush from fear. I get for free. Waking up and remembering the dream and talking about it has really helped and I get much less frequently.
Bingo. Most who still struggle with them are those still stuck in a fear state. Embrace the moment just as we should embrace our fears. Then they will pass.
I had night terrors when I was a kid-teenager. It felt like somebody turned the fear in your brain ALLLLL the way up...as scared as humanly possible, it felt like pure emotion, no rationale. I happened to see another clip of Travis talking about his night terrors last night, and I haven’t thought about my own experience in a long time. It’s a weird thing, night terrors...I think it has something to do with stress in your life or something...🤔
I have night terrors but I can’t realize I’m awake till like 20 minutes later
1:59 “Thuhcuppla uh storieszh uh involving...thnight terrors...Zinterestednninyou telling...hotel lobby?”
Wtf hahaha the second i watched that i instantly went to time stamp it. Dude fucked that one up hahaha
You can tell Travis isn't particularly enjoying laughing about his night terrors, they aren't exactly a barrel of laughs for him
AwestruckChemicals I'm terrified of snakes and I get them, and yeah, they're not exactly a walk in the park.
Honestly some of the scariest shit I've experienced.
AwestruckChemicals i had one when i was younger and that shit is no joke, very scary. Nowhere near what travis has tho thank god😭
what the hell are you, a psychic, haha bless your soul.
Not funny. This douche is just laughing at his misery
I haven't ran through the desert or gone down an elevator, but I have wrestled crazy demons and stuff in my night terrors. It is so beyond real it is crazy. I remember the tastes, smells, and experience just like a real memory.
There are too many. Everyone of them different. Sometimes skinny, weird, naked, dark skinned iggy pop looking creatures with no genitals. Another time it was an fifty foot tall creature in full armor asking me questions. Super strange stuff.
Warrior have you ever thought about giving your life to Jesus? It helped my sleep paralysis tremendously....
I already know Jesus. I have been saved and baptized since 7 yrs old. The Lord has me, I am not scared of the experiences at all. I actually get a chuckle out of it sometimes.
Warrior that's awesome dude! Just keep praying before bed,
Rocky Najera yall sound pathetic smh
Travis is just an all around inspirational dude..all the way from the sports world to his personal life he puts it all on the line just to potentially help another person better themselves..even if it is not something he is necessarily proud of himself..the world needs more dudes like him in it..
I used to have night terrors, its the worst thing ever. You can't tell that you are dreaming. I have actually broke my ankle during a night terror from falling down stairs. Its something you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy
NAH, I would completely wish that on my enemies. The reason I started having night terrors is the thing I wouldn't wish on my enemies cuz no child should have to go through what I went through.
I've had night terrors my whole life. Hard to explain really but sometimes it's almost like you know your up "sleep walking" but your dream or "terror" feels so real
such a genuine and amazing human being.
Yeahhh.. I don't like the fact that Graham just sit smiling and making light of this situation.. I've had night terrors it's horrible
Suppressed fear coming out when it can, when he’s asleep and his guard is down
Thank you!!!!!!! I have or had nightmares Travis speacily with the skits thank you very supportive
I have had night terrors since I was about 21 years old and I am 67 now and still get them.
smiling too much during this interview.... weird !
he's obviously nervously embarrassed to talk about it
Pretty bizarre the guy interviewing him is smiling and laughing about Travis's issues.
I mean he's following Travis' demeanor
+Nick Frame just because he let slip small smiles doesn't mean he wasn't obviously uncomfortable and unhappy about the whole thing. people smile when they're nervous/uncomfortable. his demeanor was NOT that of a happy person. interviewer read it wrong.
he actually laughed even more when 9/11 was brought up...
Graham always has that smile lol
Apologize to Absolutely Nobody well then he should stick to happy go lucky interviews lol or lay off the weed prior to his interviews lol
I had night terrors as a kid. The strangest thing is you can’t explain them to anyone. My mom used to ask about them right after they happened and I just couldn’t explain them to her.
Yeah they seem impossible to explain to someone , and if you did manage to convey the narrative to someone it will not sound very terror inducing at all. An infinite series of impossible tasks growing exponentially with each mistake.
i had night terrors as a child. pretty scary stuff. you'd swear their real. my mom brought me to the dr. he prescribed a mild sleep medication for a short period of time. he said it should break the cycle of the night terrors. it did and i have never had one since and im now in my forties
So crazy seeing this guy over 10 years
I hate hate hate that this happens to one of the nicest (and most talented) humans ever.
Thank you travis, I have the same. You are one of my idols. Good luck to you.😍
Travis knows it's the pent up fear. He explained it. I used to jump out of bed at night sometimes thinking there were critters in my bed. Id just wake up standing in my room usually with the blankets and then Id realize I was having a bad dream, check the bed for critters, and go back to sleep. lol
And my parent said I yell sometimes when I'm dreaming.
Are dreams real in another reality? Deja vu?
HR Giger had night terrors. Art was his treatment. Have to make the most of your conscious life when your unconscious is hell. I admitted in the military having nightmares and would sometimes wake myself up by punching my locker, much of that stress related I think. I know an EOD that was afraid to bring a woman home because he was scared he would strangle her and would wake up across the room killing pillows.
If his art was inspired by his night terrors then that explains why it disturbed me so much because iv seen that imagery before and not from him.
I had night terrors when I was younger. Craziest thing I've ever been through in my life.
Graham should get an award for worlds most awkward human being.
Hardcore Henry how...?
John- by believing in himself and being very disciplined.
I agree .
You can tell Graham is a complete sociopath, but probably not violent or anything.
@@SH19922x but he has a great business card
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm noticing mine getting worse as well. I've gotten to the point of locking my bedroom door to try and prevent more extreme night terrors. Yours sound really intense! Hope you're doing better :) Any developments or tips on things you've tried that have helped you?
"Honey, I had a bad dream that I was skydiving without a parachute. That's my next trick."

Tp199 legend
Travis probably has CTE from the massive amount of brain trauma he has had.
rdizzy1 paging Dr Rdizzy2
rdizzy1 he's had night terrors since he was a small child.
rdizzy1 so basically you're a fucking moron.
He clearly said that they keep getting worse with age though.
Very likely. I have had them since I was young, but after my last concussion, which was number 9 as far as severe ones go, I now sleep very, very, little because of how bad my night terrors have gotten. I will jump out of bed kicking, punching, yelling, etc. fighting off attackers that are not there. I also suffer from seizers and panic attacks as well. People need to take head trauma much more seriously.
I read in motorcross action like 20 years ago when Travis first went pro at 16 on the interview he told about his terrors. Talked about the man in the corner of his room
Every single night I experience nightmares and quite often wake up in my garage hiding behind vehicles or under work benches, was a fire fighter for 4years thru the earthquakes in chch New Zealand... as a 16year old retrieving deceased people from wrecked buildings is something I'm still terribly scared from even now 7years on
I had a couple night terrors when I was younger. I was stuck in the middle of a dream and being awake. Could see two things at once. Weirdest thing ever.
You got a new sub for sure
Brutal to watch this..... He'd NEVER smirk in the face of someone talking about their cancer or Parkinsons....
I get that Travis is smiling but he always smiling. This is such a heavy conversation to have because Travis is approximately 10 years younger than Graham and he's talking about having major mental issues and the fallout from several episodes.
I'm so scared for Travis going forward between his body being wrecked and his brain being damaged...
I have the same issue and it's terrifying.
It's been awhile since I've had night terrors, but they're truly terrifying. I had to go see a neurologist when I was younger
I use to have night terrors. It is the worst thing I've ever experienced. I completely get what he's talking about in this video
I've had them. They are so real. Not fun, but once you learn to realize what they are, you just accept it for a bad dream.
The interviewer is only smiling cause Travis has positive aura. Travis always has a positive outlook.
This dude is naturally cool.
Graham pisses me off how he smiles and has the look of wow on his face in serious moments especially with mike Tyson you could see on Mike's face how sad and depressed he was and graham just smiles like whatever and continues questions
With one of mine I woke up, walked out of my hotel room thinking it was the bathroom door. Woke up and had to knock to get back in to my Family Hotel Room very late at night !
This was very mild compared to the real Terrors I used to have!! With age it does get better but there is still a bit of a lusid stage!!!!!!!
Thank for talking out
I'm glad he said that I have night terrors it sucks
How does this Graham guy keep laughing? It's not really a laughing matter.. it's like a disability.
Yeah pretty weird. He’s usually an excellent interviewer.
Maybe it was the vibe Pastrana was giving off
You don’t know Travis then
It's like ptsd I have them from previous injuries or old accidents
i have suffered with these for 25 yrs after bad dirt bike crash there crazy they still scare me
I met a friends brother a bacherlor party that said to me at the hotel , oh by the way don't panic if you hear me yell at night, i have night terrors.
I said what? are you joking.......what is night terrors? And he explained. So apparently his dad had that, and many people have it. Nothing to be ashamed of.
Travis is a really great guy. Probably the nicest action sport athlete I've ever met. He is just like he is in the interviews. He inspires millions of people. In a positive way. He has pushed the human CONDITIONing to the limit. !!! That know other man has. There is an aura to him that's all around positive. I hope he isn't getting attacked. By something evil. SCIENTISTS STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY WE NEED TO SLEEP. U CAN DIE FROM SLEEP DEPRIVATION. ITS PART OF OUR MAKE UP. LET ALONE ALL THE BAZZAR DREAMS WE HAVE SCIENTISTS STILL ARGUE WHY WE DREAM ALSO. THAT DUCKS FOR TRAVIS, CAUSE HE REALLY IS WHO U SEE. ALL AROUND POSITIVE AND UPLIFTING DUDE.
Travis sacrificed his body and brain for bmx, motocross, rally racing and all extreme sports, he started a new culture of pushing the limits since the early to mid 2000s
get well Travis
I’ve been dealing with night terrors for the past 15 yrs it’s brutal...
With my dreams I’ll have premonitions that I’ll see the exact thing happen the next day...but i can’t figure out a real meaning behind them. But they definitely happen
I used to get the waking up screaming from an out of body experience watching myself descending on rapidly spinning bed, but those stopped about the time I turned 20
I experience this also. Don’t sleep on your back. Sleep on your side. It fixes it. PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT and also change of sleeping patterns causes it
sleeping on the side does help. so does saying in your mind, "Jesus, help me." Works every time. In an instant. I'm not going to explain why, but just know that it works.
I've had night terrors. Only one where I must have been dreaming but I remember it as mistaking the red light on a tv for a rifle laser sight. Jumped a table, out the apartment, down 2 flights of stairs, along a sidewalk.
I suddenly woke up, I think I was still confused, but when my friend ran out totally freaked out I realized "ah, it's nothing, nothing." "No, really, just forget about this."
It's really freaky, really hard to explain to someone not experiencing it.
Travis is a hell of a guy!
I think the fact this man lives his life on the fine line of life and death he is spiritually closer to the other side ..or on his own frequency.
I know your pain brother!
Why is the interviewer smiling? It's not funny.
But its like tourettes unless live with it, you can sometimes only see the funny side of it however bad it is for them. But yeah not sure why he exaggerating this awkward laugh
kyle robinson its pretty funny, i did the same shit for awhile
kyle robinson because he is smiling. Travis never lets anything get him down no matter what.
He's a mad man
The nights are long and full of terrors!
Smoking cannibis or taking cbd helps with night terrors and most sleeping disorders in general when I smoke it it gives me more relaxed dreams
Damn thats crazy, i suffer from the insomnia, i know the feel.
Used to skydive alot, and had the similar experiences
Another way of saying "I have demons." dude is strong and is fighting everyday.
I get sleep paralysis night terrors. I guess that's better :S
Sometimes I'll just lay there screaming at full capacity for 3-5 minutes straight...
I had that too for awhile
Don't move into an apartment complex.
I had a "Stemi" heart attack with three cardiac arrests. My second cardiac arrest I was wide awake and not sedated yet. They hit my with 325 joules of electricity from the paddles jumping me off the table. I had night terrors about that for a year. I know what he is talking about. It's not fun. My prayers to him.
First time seeing TP in this setting and hear him tell you something about himself.
Travis Pastrana is fucking awesome
He such a kewl dude and amazing dare devil
I also have this shit. I played hockey for decades (still do), and it must have something to do with the physical trauma.
Thank God for our men in service 🙏 They have sacrificed their mind and bodies to protect us
Marijuana makes you dream way less i smoked for years and years and never dreamed or never remembered my dreams, when i quit about 4 weeks after smoking grass for the last time, i started dreaming bigtime very vivid not bad dreams just really vivid dreams it was cool. I think it would help people with ptsd or people with night terrors.
Someone get my man Travis a joint and he'll sleep perfectly
man, i 've been a big fan of Travis since i first seen him in the early 2000's. I honestly feel bad for even being a fan of him now, this man sacrificed his body and his mind for other peoples entertainment .
The brain is such a fascinating organ. The fact that you can be essentially unconscious, but function as a person who is awake is amazing. It makes me wonder if you could possibly enter a state where you're "asleep" for 3 days, but in reality you've gone to work and accomplished a ton of things you'd normally do. Even scarier, you commit a crime such as murder, but it wasn't "you" who actually did it.
Mankind is a 3-part being, a spirit and soul in a physical body. Not everything is atoms and matter and molecules. You can't bottle up wisdom, fear, courage, justice, hatred, love, revenge, self sacrifice in a test tube.
I have the same thing and have had it my whole life. It is a scary thing i think its an over active mind I am a very active person when am awake and asleep .
Man, I'm just now realizing I've only had night terrors once but I didn't know they were night terrors
I like Graham Bensinger's interview style...because he shuts up and let's people talk. But I absolutely hate his fake Prince Charming face and smile, and the fact that every question he asks ends on the same note. Always sounds a little bit condescending, unfriendly and snippy, more like in an interrogation than in an actual interview. Not to mention the indirect questions like "explain...", "describe this and that" that are rude imperatives in nature and sound awkwardly demanding. The intonation and robotic melody of his questions also make him sound like an elementary school kid who has just learned how to go up with your voice at the end of a sentence to make it sound like a question.
Graham is way to too dry and not well calibrated for doing interviews. He's good for showing to mom though.
You likely spend all your time alone because nobody would want to deal with your weird crazy it’s not that serious chill your fuckin beanzzzzzz
He's got a good point. The guy kinda sucks at interviews, wanna see someone who this butthole could learn a thing or two from? Nardwuar.
Travis is smiling wile Graham counts off injurys . I've had acouple back surgery's , knees , elbow and hands . I didn't feel to bad until after 45 years old. The throbbing and aching started with a vegence fu#$ing horrible . I love Travis and hope he has a pain free life but things have a tendency to catch up with us bags of meat .
man i cant imagine how bad his back would hurt, not having use of his legs to act like shock absorbers.
Damn man stay safe get some good help!
That's all the fear you hold back in life coming out of you. To do the kind of things actions sports guys do takes more than balls. It takes being able to compartmentalize your fear. The psyche can only take so much and it has to come out. Think about it, the brain knows it's unnatural to fly a hundred feet in the air on two wheels, lol. And that's what makes action sports great.
NewHampshire Bound I share your point of view and it is the most valid and straightfoward here. As I read your comment, I had in mind the POV video that just came out of him demolishing that hill climb in New Hampshire with his Subaru (No pun intended bc of your name lol). After he's done with the climb they have a face shot of him right after completing it and you can just see on his face EXACTLY what you said about compartmentalize, verbatim, in the physical form.
When he went pro at 16 he did a article in Motocross Action and mentioned his condition as a child
he screams every night 😊
I've gotten these but I'm younger is that normal?
For ANYONE experiencing night terrors, which I did for over the 35 years, the ONLY thing that worked for me is EMDR. I haven't had a single night terror in over 4 years. It may seem a little hokey at first but after only 3 or 4 sessions with my clinical therapist I am cured (*knock on wood).
Night terrors are far worse than Nightmares This guys going through it Hope you get over those Trav smoke some dope bro ✔
Bruh this happens to my little sister and you can have like a full on conversation with her and try to calm her down and she won't remember anything in the morning
True dat Matt, i swear by it
it's might be because he has 25 concussions
Clay 23 He has the night terror since he was a kid
And he says they are getting worse. CTE could be a contributing factor.
Feliks Torres yeah everyone had them as a kid the fact they are getting worse is very bizarre most likely linked to head trauma, also he was probably getting knocked out at a young age doing crazy shit.
Watch 199 buddy.. its explained that he already had the night terrors as a kid..but just enhanced when he got older
It's due to suppressed fear
Man that sucks. Pastrana for president 2020.
The guy doing the interview is a nut job laughing so much. How awkward..
I went thru this with sleep paralysis in 2004 2005. I got so used to it I could almost control my dreams. My worst one was a satanic figure chasing me, shooting at me then I’d be trapped with nowhere to run, and that feeling of, omg I’m about to die was just like it is in real life, then I’d shoot my self awake and go rush to the fridge.
Holy smokes, that's been my life 3-5 times a week off and on for the last 20 years brother!! I don't fear that satanic figure anymore like I used to. The other crazy part of my SP is everytime I force myself to wake up from it, unless I roll, flip, turn my body I will fall back into the same dream, exact moment I forced myself to wake up. No matter how many times I wake up, unless I move I'm right back in the fight lol. Crazy shit
Graham this is likening to laughing at someone in distress with depression. It shows a lack of compassion that isn't very pleasant for any of us.
I have had them most of my life and many times a year but they have stopped now I'm older and more mature in my early 30s and I know most of my night terrors are psychic ability connected
Love you Travis.... but can we get that pimple...
I used to have same problem but now I dont cuz i smoke alot of weed now i dont have dreams
I had a recent dream that Riff Raff the rapper was trying to bust through my front door using his head, and people were behind screaming for him to stop. Very very bizarre😂
D Based blue berry break n enter rap game johnny walker
A result of suppressing the fear in a day to day life, so it finds an outlet in the sleep / unconsciousness.
Taking slams catches up with a person .
Dreams sometimes are like puzzles we need to figure out deep down what they really mean...I guess. What do you guys think?
Rant Therapist totally agree. I've suffered from SP and night terrors since the age of 18 and I'm 41 now. They're not as often as it was 5 to 10 years back but I still have them on occasions. Dreams can lead to enlightenment, if you are an open minded person.
