I installed openwrt in my tplink archer c20i. But didn't installed the upgrade file. Its working fine. Can you tell me why should i also flash the upgrade one.?
This is my understanding of OpenWRT factory.bin and sysupgrade.bin files (I could be wrong though): They have the same features (as long as they are the same version number, for example: 19.07.3), however, the factory.bin is meant to be installed when you are going from the stock firmware to OpenWRT and in some wireless routers you cannot go directly from stock to sysupgrade.bin. Now, when you are on a factory.bin (OpenWRT) firmware and want to upgrade to a newer version, you would install a sysupgrade.bin (OpenWRT) file. So in your case, you should be good, but when it's the time to upgrade to a newer version you can install a sysupgrade.bin.
Has anyone stated whether the TP-Link vulnerabilities are reduced with Openwrt? I understand the old versions of the stock firmware are the most vulnerable. Has anyone published known vulnerability of the A7 hardware?
