My daughter had this EXACT problem at her apartment. I did EXACTLY what you did to fix it. That and I upgraded her router from an RT-AC86U running Merlin to a RT-AX86U Pro running Merlin.
Asus rt- Ac86u and ac88u has been one of the best and reliable pieces of equipment I had. Recently parted with it when I upgraded to a 25u rack with ubiquiti gear.
Thanks for watching! Both routers are very similar, but the AX88U Pro offers slightly better Wi-Fi and an additional 2.5 Gbps port. If the price difference isn’t significant, I’d recommend going with the AX88U Pro. However, if you prefer something more compact, the AX86U Pro is a great choice-I personally like its smaller size.
I have the Tmobile 5G and It has been giving me fits with/when using my PS4 to play Gran Tourismo. Do you or can you show us how to do these things with the T mobile antennae?
No, because changing the channel means all the devices connected to that band will be disconnected until the new channel is back up and they can reconnect. Just imagine if the channel had to be changed multiple times a day-what chaos that would create, completely defeating the purpose
@@Behfor Yes, I forgot to delete my comment, because the next part of your video about routinely resetting the router answered my question. Sorry about that and thank you for sharing your excellent advice!
I have Carro ceiling fans at home that connect via 2.4 ghz wifi to the internet so I can use Carro app to control them remotely. One of the ceiling fans would randomly turn its light on sometimes which was super annoying , I read on Carro support website that it means that Wi-Fi might be disconnecting at times. At that time. My wifi was set to have mixed 5 and 2.4ghz one network. After watching your videos I changed my router settings to have two separate networks 5ghz and 2.4ghz, with channel set to auto. The ceiling fan kept doing same thing - randomly turning its light on, then I set channel on 2.4 ghz network to manual, I scanned my wifi with a free wifi scanner software using my windows pc and found interference free channel and chose that for my 2.4 ghz and ever since my one ceiling fan stopped turning its light on randomly ( which is super annoying especially when trying to sleep at night). In any case sometimes choosing specific channel saves a day especially when using wifi ceiling fans at home.
As explained in the video, you can manually select the best channel, or let the router do it automatically by setting it to reboot daily. Otherwise, it won’t change the channel on its own, because changing the channel disconnects all connected devices until the new channel is up and running, which is not practical especially if it has to do it many times a day! Hope that makes sense.
on wifi 7 router i created same Wifi SSID (on 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz band) security (WPA3 Personal) on both band... Now connect with wifi 7 adaptor... its connect as MLO (Multi Link) to easy..wifi 6 says its smart connect(single band)🤣

Thanks, I talked about the software in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vQYPKh32PDE/v-deo.html
Hello. Thanks for the great video. May I know which router you recommend between ax86u pro and ax88u pro? Thanks

@@Behfor thank you.
Nice one I like that you share your experience without hesitation, Now we need the non-overlapping channels for the 5ghz
Thanks 👍🏻
Denmark here :O) THX a lot, I have the exat same problems, I will try, your solution 👍
You're welcome and good luck 👍
Besides amazingly simple tech solutions🖥love your sense of humor!😅
Thanks! 😃
Good info. Good job.
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Very nicely explained thanks
You're welcome! Glad you liked it 👍🏻
i do not have this issue, just love watching Befhor videos, he is a true IT bro

Shouldn’t a good router, detect interference on the channel and automatically switch channels within a reasonable period of time?
No, because changing the channel means all the devices connected to that band will be disconnected until the new channel is back up and they can reconnect. Just imagine if the channel had to be changed multiple times a day-what chaos that would create, completely defeating the purpose

0:18 Epic!
😁👍
why do we need to restart router to best select the channel?
