He was so surprised that he didnt do the "hold ooooooon bruuuu" thing that he always does, thats why i think it wasnt scripted. The thing is that most reactions to this song are by people that doesnt listen to metal. Preston has been introduced to metal for a while now so thats why he was expecting a change in the tone

Jinjer is pretty badass. Tatiana is the star, but the whole band is on point. Most of their stuff is heavy, but they do like to throw in some melody. Definitely different.
The band is insanely talented. The drummer (forget his name) is so good that's why this video exists. Tatiana heard him play this song and instantly wanted to re-record it. The fills and ghost notes this man is playing is so jazz infused it's amazing. Not to mention how he can make such a small kit sound so huge. And I won't even get into the guitarist and bassist or I'd be here all day.

This Lady is SERIOUSLY trained. Her vocal technique is just unbelievable.
She says she's never had any actual training. Of course for someone who grew up in the internet age that's not as big a deal anymore, there's a ton of places she could have learned the correct techniques from.
NOT trained...welcome to the world of ACTUAL musicianship, composing talent as opposed to so called hippity hippity and that other stuff
@@philanaemic she did grow up in a family with at least one trained musician too, so she had the basic theories to work from. And like you say in the internet age there is an enormous amount of information out there for people to work from.
@@mos8541 Most talented singers still do a lot of vocal training to get better. Doing unclean vocals takes just as much technique as cleans unless you want to blow out your vocal chords. She may not be classically trained, but she wasn't able to just do that. It takes a lot of practice. Ask anyone who does unclean vocals.

yea i think the same shit, i just discover this band right now with preston and already i know all of them are brilliant musicians, the guitar player, the bass player, obviusly the lead singer (beast) but that drummer is in another level tho
Think of the irony... The song was recorded with their previous drummer on the album. The live video version would NOT exist if not for their change in drummer. The guys in the band said that they decided to record this version because of the new approach on the percussion aspect... Just think of the irony how many people would not have discovered Jinjer because of ONE person... LOL. Of course they would end up being successful anyway but not as easy if not of this video...
I did not know that. To be honest, i'm not a big fan of Jinjer. Just not my thing, that doesn't mean I think they suck. Just not my "core". That said, i'd watch that drummer and bass player jam together for hours.
I’ve been drumming for 13 years so trust me when I say there’s a lot in this most wont notice. His ghost notes, how tight he is, his relaxed and efficient motion and control. Much much more than what’s on the surface
The one good thing about this band, is it's hard to pick out the most tallented. The drummer is a maniac, bassist is a beast, the guitartst shreds and then there's the VOCALS. I've been impressed with the individuals in the band as well as the band as a whole.

And Tatiana says she's had no formal training... Imagine that! But yes, that is her real voice. As for the question about all their music being like that, yes, yes it is, pretty much. I haven't been able to find a bad Jinjer song yet. The band has been through a few line up changes, but all have been really good musicians.
If you like Tati's clean voice, I suggest checking out the song Bad Water. (All clean, no growl, natural tone)
If you want to hear more quick switching of singing styles, try their song Just Another (you'll swear there's two people singing this on, but she can do this live)
If the growling gets you going, try Words Of Wisdom. (Traditional heavy thrash with growls from start to finish. No holds barred)
Vocal style and tone range? Try listing to Who's Gonna Be The One (love that switch for the big finish. You'll want the live video for this one.)
And if you want to hear them do some Ukrainian thrash-punk, try I Want It, I'll Get It
The closest thing to a metal diva song I found by them is I Speak Astronomy (yes, metal has some of that diva swing in it at times, Tati doesn't disappoint in that one either.)
All round, a great band. And I never get tired of seeing people react for the first time to Tati's vocal abilities. (She likes it too, so there's a chance she might watch this video at some point)

Jinjer is also quite inspired by Opeth, in the end part of this song it is clearly heard, that calm guitar riff is totally Opeth-ish. So, how about you check some Opeth too :D I would recommend Opeth - Blackwater Park. Another Jinjer song could be - I Speak Astronomy.

not really man, i´ve heard Arch enemy way before listening to jinjer and i love metal, the heavier the better, but there is something in the way that Tatiana controls her voice that simply caughts off guard to anyone, the way she goes from the melodics to the growls is just unique, and her´s are just so much more controlled and low than most of the female metal singers i´ve ever listened... her singnig live is just out of this world, even comparing her to Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth, wich is a tall order for anyone.
