Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole. "Cloud Factory official live video", "Perennial live at Wacken", "Retrospection live in Melbourne" and "On the Top live in Kiev" are all good ones to check out. Definitely subbed
Vlad has some drum playthroughs that are worth watching. Most metal drummers are flailing wildly to make a boring beat, he is relaxed, percussive and creative. One of my favorite drummers right now.
Great analysis! Please stop and rewind as often as you like. I love all the details you point out. If I want to listen uninterrupted I don’t need to watch this. Keep up the good work.
So much good stuff from them. Pause, replay and analyze all you want. Someone will probably complain but there's plenty of folks just listening and making faces. Your knowledge and appreciation are very welcome. Subbed. As others have said, Perennial live at Wacken is the ideal great next step. Who Is Gonna Be The One is another that is well worth doing sooner rather than later, especially since the instrumental composition is fire - the re-composed it to work with just Roman's guitar and Eugene's bass after their rhythm guitarist left and it's far more sophisticated than the original imo. Several have mentioned Home Back which is about their experiences when their hometown was caught in the 2014 war in eastern Ukraine that set the stage for the the current invasion. It hits hard and speaks powerfully for the millions of ordinary people caught in the middle of every war.
You have great technical knowledge so this is the perfect band for you to react to. All their stuff is different, and it’s a deep rabbit hole. Subbed, so I can follow along. I agree with most, Perennial live at Whacken is a great next song.
New subscriber here! You have good ears, you can immediately recognize good musicians and I like that! Keep going, keep rocking, thank you and greetings from Munich! 🤘
I like that you were very attentive to detail & impressed but not at all overwhelmed. I therefore think that you can handle the next level of Jinjer. "Home Back" (Official Music Video) is an incredibly powerful & creative anti-war song & video inspired by their experiences during & since the 2014 annexation of Crimea & conflict with Russian-backed separatist militias in eastern Ukraine, which is where they're from. You should definitely react to it. You got a new subscriber. Cheers!
Thanks for the sub. I am def interested in the next level. I am going to do a few of this band on this channel for sure. I can only imagine what a ride I am in for!
Every member of Jinjer is an exceptional musician. They are Roman on guitar, Vlad on drums, Eugene on bass and Tatiana on vocals. They have been one of the hardest working bands over the last decade, and right now they can use some good thoughts. Stay safe Jinjer.
I have lost track of how many times and how many reactions to this song I've seen. Keep going that have a ton of material and it's ALL GOOD. This is my favorite band of all time now. MORE JINJER!!!
can we take a moment to realise just how good the band is.. those drums are so tight and the ghost notes so slick then you have tati's voice.. its pure gold....
Finally! Someone paying attention to the musicianship / time signatures / songwriting / transitions and timbres going on! Thank you! I subscribed. Also - Go Hawks!!!
Jinjer is a music nerds favorite metal band. every single member is uber talented and is the PERFECT piece to create the genre that is Jinjer. constantly playing with time signatures and blend other genres like jazz, blues, classical, reggae, rap and more. you'll love their catalog if this song peaked your interest
they are all good, very talented, but the drummer is amazing. he plays insteresting stuff, very precise, solid, and creative to play what is perfect for the song and its different parts and moods.
I've seen this video a lot, and seen a lot of reactions to it, I just now noticed something new: Their drummer never once, as far as I can tell, ever crosses his arms. He's completely ambidextrous. That is a ridiculous level of skill.
Yoo i was here to hear you salivate over Tatiana's voice switch up and you go and break down everything else in a way I've not seen before. You are my new go to for nonvocal break downs. Charismatic Voice is my go to vocals gal.
Congratulations and welcome to the Jinjer Journey! New subscriber here. Love your reaction/review. Lots of lame reaction channels out there, but yours if full of info and it's clear you love music more than views. You can't go wrong with any Jinjer song. Each brings something new to the ear. Thanks for what you're doing, see ya again and cheers!
Major props for not losing your focus on the instruments when "the voice" hit. I only found your channel recently, but after the first few videos (UTA and several from Band-Maid), I was really looking forward to seeing how you'd handle this one. You did not disappoint in the slightest.
Marched into your channel with the Nightwish army and found you going into that Jinjer-Swamp, too! Very cool - I super-enjoy your very analytical reactions ... obviously mixed with all these wow's and ouhhh's and all that! Keep it going, I enjoy your channel already! And I must say: keep stopping and rewinding as much as you feel to! there are enough reactionchannels just letting it flow through the whole song and giving an impressed "wow oh my god" after the song, I - speaking only for me - always will prefer seeing some reaction on an analytical base aswell because, I am not a singer, vocalcoach, tech-tank, director or composer - so this is the content I dig to find new details! Thanks a lot and have fun with the jinjer and nightwish troops... and maybe we will see you soon with some more departments those troops are shoulder on shoulder with (I'm always loving me some Epica-Reactions too xD).
Thank you for the comment. Yea this is a new experience in UA-cam for me. I normally do gaming content. I'm glad you enjoy the stopping and talking because that's what feels natural in my head wren seeing it for the first time. Thanks!
Great reaction!! It’s always fun to see people hear Tatiana for the first time. I’m not such a metal head, but it’s hard not to admire the musicians here. I love the way they switch time signatures here and there-just another way to be unpredictable. As I understand it, this piece was a showcase for this drummer who had just joined the band. As I understand it, Tatiana is here in the US with her husband, but the guys are all in Ukraine and fighting. They’re also selling merch to raise funds for the war effort. So you’re a drum guy-how do you feel about beatboxing?
@@DrumRollTonyReacts I was going to recommend an a capella group (Voiceplay). Didn’t want to tell you about them if you hated beatboxing! LOL. They just dropped a new cover, Imagine Dragons’ Enemy, featuring AleXa, who recently won the American Song Contest.
I've watched so many reaction videos to this song and others from this band and so many people focus almost entirely on the vocals (understandably!). It's refreshing to hear so much professional commentary on the rest of the band. They are all so damn good! Thank you Tony! I learned a lot!
Really wonderful to see such attention to detail given not only to Tati but love for the guys. Jinjer is unreal in their craft. "Perennial" Live at Wacken and "Judgement and Punishment" one take are excellent as well
Thank you for this great review. Most people gravitate to her voice (which is cool). These guys are fantastic musicians, thanks again for picking apart the music and giving them the credit they deserve.
You know I have watched many reactors react to this song but i'd say yours is my favorite. Obviously her vocals are absolutely insane but the rest of the band just is so tight they play together so well. Which its awesome you reacted to how good the instruments are instead of just most reactors who focus on the vocals. Also one thing you pointed out that I never noticed was when the drummer was hitting his cymbals along with guitar. You pointed that out and went back to it and I was like holy shit thats awesome lol
Very easy to subscribe, and I’m very careful about it who I subscribe to. Nice work just diving in and being authentic. This song has been reacted to endlessly. For Jinjer fans, it great to have new angles explored. Several parts you highlighted were new to me, and I’ve heard this song hundreds of times.
Bro i see you've got the tingles there!!!! Been there, done that :D Having a blast scrolling through your vods dude. You're pretty knowledgeable about music and it makes it a pretty good watch. Keep up the good work! Thanks for the time and passion!
With all the comments...I think you are probably well educated on Jinjer..and have a shitload of suggested songs from them. Doesn't matter what song you pick, it'll be epic. Welcome to the world of Jinjer, buckle up..gonna be an awesome ride. Great reaction and looking forward to more. 🤘
This is a a song that showcases the talents of all the band members almost old fashioned as you can hear everything so distinctly and how it contributes to the final beautiful song
You’re right, we do love Jinjer and Tatiana is our Queen. The guys just keep writing amazing and ever more complicated music and somehow Tati manages to come up with deep and meaningful lyrics and vocals that blend perfectly with the music. I would recommend as a good overview of there music, “Perennial” live at Wacken to see them Live. Then OMV for “Teacher Teacher”, “Home Back”, “Vortex” and “Wallflower” are all must see videos and I will come along for the ride. There’s a lot of fantastic music in front of you my friend, enjoy!
I am glad to see the reaction of a serious musician to this video. I would like to see your reaction to the following songs: Perennial, Outlander, Vortex, Teacher Teacher, Judgment (& Punishment) and, finally, Retrospection
Great reaction! In my opinion, the value of having someone musically knowledgeable reacting to music is in their analysis. Yes, I have watched a LOT of reactions to this video, and a lot of them are people who maybe don't have so much expertise. Nothing wrong with that, it's just a different vibe. This is my roundabout way of saying, don't apologize for pausing to give your genuine reactions and knowledge/expertise. It's a deep rabbit hole to go down with Jinjer. Enjoy the journey!
I wonder there are still some good people in the Universe to discover the gem of Jinjer :) Welcome on board! I fell in love with them long before Pisces was written. Saw them twice live, and can recommend that to you. You cant go wrong with any of their songs, but have a look at "Teacher, Teacher" before some later releases.
Awesome reaction and analysis dude! I subscribed and going to watch you other videos! Excited to see you react to more Jinjer and other bands and artist!
Hell yeah! A music educator reactor! You’re a rare person on here, I have prior Marching band experience and at one time was trying to be a music major, going the education route but life got pretty hard and had to put things on pause. Anyways it’s refreshing having a good musical reaction instead of the normal facials reactors. You can’t go wrong exploring more Jinjer!

Attempted to march drum corps in Impulse on the contra but had some last minute financial problems that screwed my tour cost
Also.. not sure if it was mentioned.. but time signatures are 7/8, 6/8, and some 4/4 slash 8/8 mixed in. Update- verses 1 and 2 are in 7/8 Pre-chorus(s) are 6/8 Chorus is 2 measures of 8/8 and one measure of 4/4... and the rest of the song can be 6/8 or 3/4 if you were in the army. 😁
@drumrolltony if you want a supreme challenge in time signatures... there was a jazz band at Montlake Terrace high-school in the late 90s that played a song called "the first circle" by Bob Kurnow's LA big band with Pat Matheney on guitar... song is 12/8 10/8 (alternating each measure) except for the chorus which is 8/8. They fucking killed it. I was so jealous of the lead trumpet player. He's the clapper in the intro (_23_2_23_2_2, _23_23_2_2) took me weeks to figure it out. Cheers. Side note... this would be an amazing reaction.
Glad to see some love for the drummer because this video was made to showcase him. At the time he was the new drummer and the studio version with the old one is very different.
I would give you specific Jinjer songs to check out from a drummer's perspective but that would pretty much be all of them. Not just their current drummer either. There are some drum playthrough videos to watch. A "drum cam" video of their previous drummer playing "Sit Stay Roll Over" which is quite good. The band uses in-ear monitors and so their stage volume is actually so low there is at least one drum playthrough filmed on stage during a concert. Captain Clock has some very interesting musical stuff on it. Mediator, Vortex (both new tracks). I speak Astronomy is really complex musically. Judgement and Punishment is very unique as well. A close second is just about every other song they have ever done. Which probably makes it really difficult to do set lists because there are around 12 years of fan favorites from their entire catalog.
Who was their previous drummer? I want to research more but I don't want to accidentally hear more and ruin blind reactions in the future. Thank you for the good comment
@@DrumRollTonyReacts Yevhen Mantulin was their previo9us drummer. He was at a party and sat down in a window sill on the third story of a building. He fell asleep and fell out of the window. He's now paralyzed. A former member filled in until the current drummer joined.
I have been a fan of Jinjer for about 5 years now. A Jinjer song is a little like being on a thrill ride, you never know what twists or turns it is going to take.
Fantastic Reaction! There's so many reactions to this tune on UA-cam, but so many of them stop at the shock and awe of Tatiana's shift in vocals in the song and don't go much further into the force of nature musicianship of the rest of the band. It's awesome to see you pick out some of the (relatively) tiny details in the song and playing, but shine a light into how much they play into the total package of the song. Definitely looking forward to more from you. (Maybe tackle some Snarky Puppy? Definitely another "musician's band" with broad appeal. "Lingus" gets all the reaction love, but anything off that "We Like It Here" album is a fantastic entry point - especially if you go in with the knowledge that the band wrote all their sections/parts in a long weekend. The Bass player is the main composer, and had some audio files for the song ideas when they showed up for rehearsals, but that was the firs they hear most of the songs. Add to that Larnell Lewis, the drummer, wrote all his parts on a plane to the gig that Sunday night when he was called in as the replacement drummer for the album when they ran into some Passport/Visa issues with the original drummer)
Loving all the band-focused observations! I've watched so many reactions of this song (guessing I'm not alone, the shock of the vocal change never gets old lol), and this is the first time anyone has talked about the drums or guitars. The grooves in this track really are great... any band who can make listeners feel comfortable in odd meters like they do here REALLY has to know their stuff! I'd also be curious to know what effects are on the guitars to make them sound like that. Believe it or not, I think I'm hearing some Mark Tremonti vibes from them (guitarist from Creed back in the day).
Jinjer was the band that actually got me into the heavier side of metal. Vlad the Drummer to me along with Eugene the Bassist are the heartbeat of this band. Eugene to me is one of the top bassists in the game.
the thing i love most about this band and something you really seemed to appreciate as well, is that the band sounds like a BAND, and not a bunch of divas trying to outshine each other. Don't get me wrong, there's times when i love the noise and brutality, but this band is just so comfortable and in sync with each other it's beautiful.

Vlad has some drum playthroughs that are worth watching. Most metal drummers are flailing wildly to make a boring beat, he is relaxed, percussive and creative. One of my favorite drummers right now.
Its really cool to hear someone focus on the music and not just the vocals.
Great analysis! Please stop and rewind as often as you like. I love all the details you point out. If I want to listen uninterrupted I don’t need to watch this.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the nice comment and support!
Don't apologize for stopping. I love your analyzation of the song
That transition from growl to clear and the run up to the C5 high note in the third verse just blows your mind, doesn't it?
Vlad's ghost note skills are next level. Such a great drummer, and even more so as he started out playing another instrument. Jinjer is so good.
You have great technical knowledge so this is the perfect band for you to react to. All their stuff is different, and it’s a deep rabbit hole. Subbed, so I can follow along. I agree with most, Perennial live at Whacken is a great next song.
By far the most interesting and intellectual reaction video to this masterpiece of a song, thank you, you've got a new follower.
New subscriber here! You have good ears, you can immediately recognize good musicians and I like that! Keep going, keep rocking, thank you and greetings from Munich! 🤘
Thank you for the sub!
@@DrumRollTonyReacts He's lying. As Ukrainians always do. And here they drag their "suffering" hypocritical political garbage.
Welcome to Jinjer. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well.
She has voices that make you smile.
can we take a moment to realise just how good the band is.. those drums are so tight and the ghost notes so slick then you have tati's voice.. its pure gold....
Finally! Someone paying attention to the musicianship / time signatures / songwriting / transitions and timbres going on! Thank you! I subscribed. Also - Go Hawks!!!
Thanks Go Hawks!
something live will blow you away.
all 4 are top of the game musicians
I love the way the bassist "chases" the vocals as well and the lead guitar
Jinjer is a music nerds favorite metal band. every single member is uber talented and is the PERFECT piece to create the genre that is Jinjer. constantly playing with time signatures and blend other genres like jazz, blues, classical, reggae, rap and more. you'll love their catalog if this song peaked your interest
One of the best reactions out there
Home back, teacher teacher, vortex, paranormal are all great sounds by them plus many more
they are all good, very talented, but the drummer is amazing. he plays insteresting stuff, very precise, solid, and creative to play what is perfect for the song and its different parts and moods.
Start the journey baby. They are insane.
🙏🍻🤟
You're loving the female vocalists! I was not expected the deep throated screaming to start there... Wow.
Thanks!
Great band very tight. And amazing timing too. Vocals blow you away. Great reaction and good to see you thank you.
Thanks for the nice comment
Great reaction!! It’s always fun to see people hear Tatiana for the first time. I’m not such a metal head, but it’s hard not to admire the musicians here. I love the way they switch time signatures here and there-just another way to be unpredictable. As I understand it, this piece was a showcase for this drummer who had just joined the band.
As I understand it, Tatiana is here in the US with her husband, but the guys are all in Ukraine and fighting. They’re also selling merch to raise funds for the war effort.
So you’re a drum guy-how do you feel about beatboxing?
I love beatboxing but I have zero experience in it so my comments would be pretty ignorant. I guess that's ok tho😁
Judgement and punishment live one take is still my absolute fav!
Love how you heard so many things!
Jinjer teacher teacher. Perennial are my favorites other than pieces. Great band you will love just about any song that they do.
Watching people reacting to Pisces never gets old ;)
You know I have watched many reactors react to this song but i'd say yours is my favorite.
I think that part is my favorite part of the song
about time an intelligent reaction video love it more please
TY much
Great analysis! I've watched many, this is by far the best.
New subscriber fir sure!!!
The lyrics, as part of the whole composition, are really great as well.
I absolutely love your reactions! This is great.
Jinjer is incredible 🖤
Man, you're real good at this!
I'm so glad I found you! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your review. It's cool to hear an opinion from someone that knows what they are listening to, thank you!
Thanks for watching
Do their song „vortex“
I love a reviewer who can parse the music in a truely educated and educational manner.
Thanks. I appreciate the comment
Awesome reaction and analysis dude! I subscribed and going to watch you other videos! Excited to see you react to more Jinjer and other bands and artist!
Love this reaction 👍👍
Thanks! What did you play in marching band?
9th-11th grade Alto Sax
12th grade Bari Sax and Tuba(Learned Tuba the day my band director told me he needed another tuba player on the field instead of a bari sax player trying to play the tuba parts)
3 years of Tuba at community college, both in marching band and different ensembles.
4 years on tuba Marching the Tournament of Roses parade.
Attempted to march drum corps in Impulse on the contra but had some last minute financial problems that screwed my tour cost
Also.. not sure if it was mentioned.. but time signatures are 7/8, 6/8, and some 4/4 slash 8/8 mixed in.
Update- verses 1 and 2 are in 7/8
Pre-chorus(s) are 6/8
Chorus is 2 measures of 8/8 and one measure of 4/4... and the rest of the song can be 6/8 or 3/4 if you were in the army.
Great reaction and analysis.
"Lingus" gets all the reaction love, but anything off that "We Like It
Here" album is a fantastic entry point - especially if you go in with the knowledge that the band wrote all their sections/parts in a long weekend.
I agree 200%
SURPRISE!😀😀
