In order to make protein, the gibberish portions of RNA are removed to create a coherent message. This is called RNA splicing. RNA splicing of a specific gene is defective in Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Find out how a new drug called "nusinersen" is attempting to repair this splicing defect.

Hi fri plz guide me my hand muscle cut now joined by operation plz what shud I for it that become strong plz
do the kids have to be on this therapy for life or does SMN become less important later in life? thx in advance!
As long as there isn’t any new medication, kids with SMA have to be in this therapy "forever", however the word forever is a big word. Also it’s good to add that what was missing in the video that nusinersen is able only stop the damage already done by this disease in children diagnosed with SMA so not exactly cure the disease.
our child suffers from SMA type 1 disease, please help the child to cure: There is no cure in Armenia: the unilateral option is to get out of the country
I'm muscular atrophy type c patient 🥺
Awful disease. The people behind the development of these treatments are god-like…wow.
