    Huge fan. This video is my favorite, so far as aive just found your channel. I'm an amateur rockhound. Finding rocks just to figure out what they are. And I learn a lot from you. My wife Marlena is patient with me as I just find more and.kore amazing specimens. I can't wait to actually find an agate or some other conglomerate that I need to cut. For now I watch videos like this one, and dream of finding something truly amazing. Thank you for sharing!!!

    The last bubbly bubbly goody is BEAUTIFUL!!! It is one of the most beautiful rocks I've ever seen. I sure I'm not alone in saying, I always love when you do these videos. Its so cool seeing small bits of, to me what represents anyone place of residence, the character of your surroundings. It must be beaut. In that the stone is so lovely. Sappy, probably. But I just love all the stones you choose to show us! Great eye! Thanks for sharing!

    • @Rookie_Rockounding
      @Rookie_Rockounding  5 років тому +1

      Oh thank you Gina! Thank you so much! Not sappy at all, honestly, I’m in awe of some of these stones, most of them to be truthful. I’ll email you very soon, I haven’t been able to keep on top of things last couple of weeks but I should be able to this week for sure. Many thanks again for your kindness!

    Hi Maverick! Some beauties you have there, mate. You're getting so good on the saw and learning about your finds. Wow, the large one with the green background is spectacular! Benny's rocks were beauties too! Oh yeah, you've learned a great lesson too, HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE! She and the girls have been so patient with dad and his rock-hounding hobby. Nate, on The Quest for Details, is another of my favorite channels. His knowledge of California is profound and his personality is so Zin. Loving both of your channels. Have a great day, mate! Later. 😊

    WOAH!! Those cuts turned out mind BEAUTIFUL! Never can tell what is hidden away inside until you make a cut. Family comes FIRST! If they are totally involved with the hobby too that makes a difference, if they aren't you have to split the time with them which is more important. Kids are that age once, your partner enjoys your presence so of course that is the biggest treasures you have.

    • @Rookie_Rockounding

    I like you. Your very real. I have been rockhounding for several years, well more like 5 now. I go out daily and always come home with more of those "oh wow look at this one!" rocks. Like you, I'm not always sure what they are and I seem to think they are all treasures. Quartz of all varieties and sizes are my favorite. I have such a huge variety it's a good thing I have a acre to put it all on. I have learned to "trade up" with myself!. I have the same awesome ones that you do and have cut them, polished them. And I'm just as amazed at the beauty within. I still haven't identified a lot of them yet, but have made a few positive ID's thanks to you! Thanks to you and your family and friends for keeping it real!
    Sometimes I have a hard time cutting into a cool rock because I hate to ruin a awesome looking rock that isn't so good cut in two. My husband usually takes it over at that point...lol!! I could just ramble on and on ....two thumbs up for you! Always keep it real!

Not to take up your time though, because I can only imagine how busy you already are, but I’m inspired by gina and her comment to reach out to you as a person, a mate, a different kind of “family” member.

My grandmother used to collect minerals and i never really got the chance to go out with her because she was much younger when she collected, but it’s one of those hobbies (passions😉) I picked up later in life after she had passed away when she was much older.
      But I feel her pride and like to think she’s with me every step of the way.
      I believe it would be a treasure for both you and your grandkids and something you both will never forget 😉😉😉

    I'm cutting slabs off my stones. That way I get to see more of what's inside. And I get a really cool translucent effect . I can put em in a cabinet with L.E.D.'s behind them and have sparking gems all through the house!! Bet your Mrs. will think it's magical .

    I love your honesty here, family is what matters most! Only a month into my own rock hunting passion and I just had that conversation with the wife! I couldn't help it, it's new and exciting. My wife said, "wow, you don't look at me the way you just looked at that rock." I might turn into a fossil sooner than I thought, lmfao! Wow these are really pretty. I like how you slab them and then round the edge before tumbling so it doesn't fracture, brilliant tip. Before this,, I never would have thought some of those rocks had thst on the inside, wow. What are your suggestions, having more experience than me, what I should do with a palm size green ocean jasper rock, I was thinking stabbing it or possibly trying to shape it into something, practice on something else first. I'm grateful for your videos man, they have helped me grow a lot, I have a long way to go and I will never stop learning, but you're giving me a big jump! P.S. my grass gets like that too once in a while!

    Im really glad i watched this. I feel foolish for admitting this but until i saw you use your saw the way you did, ive been flinging muddy water all over my front side. Looks like you took the guard off and are positioned behind the saw instead of in front. Wonderful idea. I cant wait to try that with the next stones i cut.

    • @Rookie_Rockounding
      @Rookie_Rockounding  5 років тому +1

      Oh god no, dont feel foolish, that’s how I started cutting, always soaking wet haha! It was one of the comments I read that suggested to turn it around. And it changed everything. Just make sure to pull the rock towards to instead of the normal pushing through the blade because it’s backwards, so the movement has to be as well.
