That was genuinely hard to watch. There are certain things you say that you can't take back and you can't move passed. To say that Skip crossed the line is an extreme understatement.
Skip had arguably the best debate partner in his TV career and yet, he somehow managed to blow it. Commending a great athlete is no grounds to diminish & disrespect another.
I mean I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I've heard there are people on the coaching staff who pretty much watch tape all week to try and narrow it down to the most important plays (since you're talking about dozens of hours of film for each team every week). So yeah, I would imagine the entire coaching staff as a whole watches more film than any individual player.
I'm no expert either but from a stance of reason there's just no way any player can be watching more tape than the coaches. The players have to spend a lot of time working out and practicing while the coaches don't so the coaches have more time to watch film.

Welp. You know why we're here boys. RIP Undisputed. The first 5-6 years were pure gold. Watched / listened to the show almost every day. It's a shame - this show was awesome. Even though the same subjects got talked about literally every day, the fact that their chemistry was amazing still made you watch even if you complained about the repetitiveness. It's what brought you back to listen to the same damn questions every day just worded a different way. Even a couple times a show they'd do the same question. It has yet to be said but me personally when I watched this clip after hearing about it initially I talked to a few buds who watched the show and we concluded " yep, shows over. " 5 months later, here we are. I'm sad that it's ending this way and I'll use a Skip reference here to sum it up. It's like when Skip talks about how had Jimmy stayed with the Cowboys, imagine the continued success they could have had. Imagine what more the Cowboys legacy, even though it's great, how much greater it could have been. But Jerry got in his own way and essentially blew it up because of his arrogance. That's what Skip did here. As much as he's a goat of sports television entertainment, imagine how much greater this show could have been given a few more years. He got in his own way and over the last few months and his pride and arrogance destroyed what him and Shannon built. It was fun while it lasted. I'll come to the ol' tube here and watch some of their great and funny moments together because their prime was awesome. I just wish though that the show could have gone a few more years and having it end with Skip getting a little bit too old and wrapping up his career with one last amazing show. Instead, in a couple weeks we'll probably get one of those TV series finale's that was rushed and had you wishing it had ended better. /a toast to all the Undisputed fans. And one last thing... I’m surprised Skip would take a shot like that, it’s not like Shannon & Tom played the same position. QBs have the least physical position in the NFL next to kickers and are the most protected position overall. The game is naturally setup for QBs to last longer than any other position.
Another thing to mention is that Tom Brady played behind stout offensive lines his whole career, preventing him from getting sacked anywhere near as much as his contemporaries. And that's not a dig at Tom Brady at all, he took pay cuts to ensure the team would build a solid o line to win more. Skip is completely disregarding any nuance to the differences in their careers for show at the expense of professional courtesy towards Shannon.

This makes me laugh so hard, because I've dealt with a father over the years who's a narcissist and he regularly does what Skip does here (but much worse) anytime you have a disagreement with him about anything. Rather than argue the points, he almost immediately takes it to a personal place and proceeds to pile onto the argument by attacking you on a personal level. In the process he raises his voice and talks over you while adding a bunch of personal attacks that has nothing to with the the discussion on hand. Normally I'm good at maintaining my composure, but when someone does this it's the most infuriating thing I've ever experienced and I will lose it. I'm not sure if Skip has a narcissistic personality but based on this I wouldn't be surprised. Most people are equipped with a common sense, decency or an understanding to not do something along these lines, but certain narcissistic personalities are incapable of recognizing this etiquette (for lack of a better word). In the aftermath they'll see it as the other person was the one who lost their mind and started screaming at them, whereas they're the ones who raised the pitch and took it too a high intensity level, which that in of itself isn't necessarily the problem it, it's at the point when they raise it to that level and then they make personal attacks, while interrupting and talking over you. Then they may do another infuriating thing that ole Skip does here... Shannon's trying argue his point only for Skip to deem it necessary to interrupt him, just to tell him to put his glasses back on (something that has no barring on anything). Props to Shannon because he handled it better than just about anyone would. Perhaps it's because he's experienced Skip doing this to him before and was aware enough to recognize it and call it out... you're going to make this personal... I'm you're friend/co-worker and these are merely external figures, etc... seriously. it usually takes experience in this area to recognize it as it's happening and call it out, so I'm guessing that Skip has done this too him before. It cracked me up because shannon goes full falsetto at two points (I had to play it back because I wasn't entirely sure who that sound came out of). My vocals tend to go the other way when my father has done this to me. That's when I still cared... after a while you lose so much respect for that person that you stop caring enough to even get pissed anymore when they do this. I think Shannon handled that well mostly because he has a solid undestading of how successful his carreer was. I mean I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I've heard there are people on the coaching staff who pretty much watch tape all week to try and narrow it down to the most important plays (since you're talking about dozens of hours of film for each team every week). So yeah, I would imagine the entire coaching staff as a whole watches more film than any individual player.
I'm no expert either but from a stance of reason there's just no way any player can be watching more tape than the coaches. The players have to spend a lot of time working out and practicing while the coaches don't so the coaches have more time to watch film.
It makes sense, it's their job.

Welp. You know why we're here boys. RIP Undisputed. The first 5-6 years were pure gold. Watched / listened to the show almost every day. It's a shame - this show was awesome. Even though the same subjects got talked about literally every day, the fact that their chemistry was amazing still made you watch even if you complained about the repetitiveness. It's what brought you back to listen to the same damn questions every day just worded a different way. Even a couple times a show they'd do the same question. It has yet to be said but me personally when I watched this clip after hearing about it initially I talked to a few buds who watched the show and we concluded " yep, shows over. " 5 months later, here we are. I'm sad that it's ending this way and I'll use a Skip reference here to sum it up. It's like when Skip talks about how had Jimmy stayed with the Cowboys, imagine the continued success they could have had. Imagine what more the Cowboys legacy, even though it's great, how much greater it could have been. But Jerry got in his own way and essentially blew it up because of his arrogance. That's what Skip did here. As much as he's a goat of sports television entertainment, imagine how much greater this show could have been given a few more years. He got in his own way and over the last few months and his pride and arrogance destroyed what him and Shannon built. It was fun while it lasted. I'll come to the ol' tube here and watch some of their great and funny moments together because their prime was awesome. I just wish though that the show could have gone a few more years and having it end with Skip getting a little bit too old and wrapping up his career with one last amazing show. Instead, in a couple weeks we'll probably get one of those TV series finale's that was rushed and had you wishing it had ended better. /a toast to all the Undisputed fans. And one last thing... This makes me laugh so hard, because I've dealt with a father over the years who's a narcissist and he regularly does what Skip does here (but much worse) anytime you have a disagreement with him about anything. Rather than argue the points, he almost immediately takes it to a personal place and proceeds to pile onto the argument by attacking you on a personal level. In the process he raises his voice and talks over you while adding a bunch of personal attacks that has nothing to with the the discussion on hand. Normally I'm good at maintaining my composure, but when someone does this it's the most infuriating thing I've ever experienced and I will lose it. I'm not sure if Skip has a narcissistic personality but based on this I wouldn't be surprised.
Most people are equipped with a common sense, decency or an understanding to not do something along these lines, but certain narcissistic personalities are incapable of recognizing this etiquette (for lack of a better word). In the aftermath they'll see it as the other person was the one who lost their mind and started screaming at them, whereas they're the ones who raised the pitch and took it too a high intensity level, which that in of itself isn't necessarily the problem it, it's at the point when they raise it to that level and then they make personal attacks, while interrupting and talking over you. Then they may do another infuriating thing that ole Skip does here... Shannon's trying argue his point only for Skip to deem it necessary to interrupt him, just to tell him to put his glasses back on (something that has no barring on anything). Props to Shannon because he handled it better than just about anyone would. Perhaps it's because he's experienced Skip doing this to him before and was aware enough to recognize it and call it out... you're going to make this personal... I'm you're friend/co-worker and these are merely external figures, etc... seriously. it usually takes experience in this area to recognize it as it's happening and call it out, so I'm guessing that Skip has done this too him before.
It cracked me up because shannon goes full falsetto at two points (I had to play it back because I wasn't entirely sure who that sound came out of). My vocals tend to go the other way when my father has done this to me. That's when I still cared... after a while you lose so much respect for that person that you stop caring enough to even get pissed anymore when they do this. Perhaps this was merely a one time thing for Skip, but I doubt it.
I think Shannon handled that well mostly because he has a solid undestading of how successful his carreer was. That being said, he just couldn't hide the disappointment of being disrespected like that on live TV, from who he thought was a friend. That hurt him.
Also, I'm sorry you had to deal with what you father did.

Skip is so childish. Shannon played a different position than Brady so Skip isn't comparing apples to apples. He'd make a terrible receiver if he played Shannons position. Of course Brady is the best ever at his position but he's proven in superbowl 52 he can't catch an easy lob as a receiver. Shannon has been one of the best at his position in his career. Skip takes personal shots at Shannon because he's a "want to be Pro Athlete" and Shannon IS a pro athlete. I have much respect for Shannon. Shannons done it all and knows first hand the coaches watch more film than anyone while Skip has decades old faded childhood dreams about some day being a pro athlete. Then again Skip is a Cowboys lover so that explains his deranged thinking.

The fact Skip didn’t admit that he was heated and said something so emotionally immature is so, so wild to me. How can he go back and watch this and not admit how extremely disrespectful he was… these guys have been working together for years..
After seeing this, it's very cathartic to listen to Charles Barkley hating on Skip Bayless.
