- A ride along the JFK Airport AirTrain "Howard Beach" line from JFK Airport Terminal 1 to Howard Beach, Queens, NYC. The stops are Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 4, Terminal 5, Terminal 7, Terminal 8, Federal Circle, Lefferts Boulevard, and Howard Beach.

"AirTrain JFK is a 3-line, 8.1-mile-long (13 km) people mover system and elevated railway in New York City, serving John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens. The system runs a 24/7 service all year round and stops at 10 stations, connecting six terminals at the airport with the New York City Subway and the Long Island Rail Road at Howard Beach and Jamaica. Bombardier Transportation operates AirTrain JFK under contract to the airport's owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
A railroad link to JFK Airport was proposed in the Program for Action in 1968, but such a link was not actually constructed for almost three decades. From the 1970s to the early 1990s, various plans surfaced to build the JFK Airport railroad line. Meanwhile, the JFK Express subway service and shuttle buses provided an unpopular transport system to and around JFK. There were 21 failed proposals for rail links to New York City airports during this period. Serious planning for a dedicated transport system at JFK began in 1990. An environmental impact statement for a JFK light-rail system was released in 1997, and construction of the current people-mover system began a year later. AirTrain JFK opened on December 17, 2003. It was the subject of several lawsuits during construction and a death during one of the system's test runs.
Since opening, AirTrain JFK has seen higher-than-expected ridership. Original projections called for 4 million annual paying passengers and 8.4 million annual inter-terminal passengers. In 2014, AirTrain JFK accommodated 6.4 million paying passengers and 10 million inter-terminal passengers."

Can’t tell you how many times I took that same route, one exception, terminal 8 to Howard Beach. Living in Brooklyn Heights and traveling back and forth to Charlotte all the time this was the only way to go. Nice memoirs.

Rode the Airline Terminals AirTrain from T4/T8 (depending on Emirates/Qatar) to T5 (JetBlue) god knows how mnay times. Miss it :(

Very thanks for that movie about JFK airport air train ! The airport of my city has an autmatic air train similar, but a short line. When it will be possible, a movie about La Guardia airport .

Which is the best way to go from JFK to Manhattan? Howard Beach or Jamaica?
It depends where in Manhattan. Howard Beach is better for Lower Manhattan and Jamaica is better for Midtown and above.

Going to China is a breeze... Since I live in Jamaica, all I have to do is take the Q44 Bus to Jamiaca Center and Transfer to the E Train, stop at Sutphin Blvd.
