@darylpritchardvideos is your bank not taking a surcharge on top of the exchange rate when you pay in dollars? That way it is not 2.75 dollars but 2.75 dollars in your exchange rate + a surcharge for a payment in a foreign currency. Seems like a one time payment of 33 dollars is much cheaper that way
We took last october the airtrain and then choosed Long Island Railroad instead of NY subway due to fewer stops and lesser time spend on the train, but I already took the subway and changed line to arrive in Brooklin.
Really helpful vid. Just booked my flight to JFK today and my hotel at Court Sq is only 5 stops away on the E train. Couldn’t have planned it better myself.
i went from jfk to penn station in about 40 minutes for less than 15 bucks. air train from jfk to jamaca queens long island railroad ticket to penn station. thats it
I'll be in New York in a couple of weeks and this video was very helpful. Simple and clear. Thank you. I'm wondering though if the subway will be safe to use at night since my plane will be landing in NY at around 11 o'clock at night. I'll be going to mid Manhattan
Hi Pavlos, thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed. I’ve use the subway late at night early hours in the morning and not had any issues and not felt threatened. I would stay to the main lines. However this is New York City
Hello! This is very helpful. I have a question (not sure if it’s a stupid one) but the metro card itself, is this given to you from the machine when you pay on exit from the air train or do you have to get the metro card before?
Hi you can now use contactless in other words your debit or credit card to get through, alternatively you would need to purchase and put credit on a metro card at the machines before going thru
Hi! Thanks so much for this very informative video! May i just ask if there’s any available escalators or elevators going out of the subway stations? I have slipped disc and i cannot carry luggages up the staircase 😢
I'm going to be doing the same journey as yourself but with my 12 year old son.. question one do you know of kids pay on the subway, question 2 can you use the same debit card to tap in at the station
Up to three children under 44 inches tall ride for free when they're with a fare-paying adult on the subway and local, limited, and Select Bus Service buses
I'll be traveling alone, scary, from JFK to Penn Station to Philadelphia. So do I get the Long Island RR directly to Penn Station? And can I use credit cards?
can you pay for the metrocard / airtrain / subway with our UK Debit or Credit card? I don't like the sound of carrying more actual cash around New York unnecessarily
On the subway and you use your credit card each time (up to the $33 limit) would you get charged an exchange rate fee on each tube journey? How easy is it just to buy a weekly pass at JFK?
so If I undestand it correctly, you buy a metrocard then charge it with 33$ and it will give you unlimited travel for 7 days after first travel, is it right ?
hope you all enjoy looks like now in April 2024 current subway prices - $34 7 day pass or $2.90 per ride

Hi yes some stations have “accessbile” lifts, this will be the main stops like for eg 42nd st
You will hear when approaching say "this is an accessible station"
Enjoy your stay 😊
Hello. Thank you for the video where can I get the metro card?
Hi from the machine $1
I’ll be in New York next month .. how can I get to Queens bridge 21st from JFK ? Thanks
From JFK take the air train and then the train to Jackson Heights, Roosevelt ave and the F train to your destination
I would say you need a seperate card, i would set up another card like revolut
I'll be traveling alone, scary, from JFK to Penn Station to Philadelphia. So do I get the Long Island RR directly to Penn Station? And can I use credit cards?
Yes, get the Long Island rail Road directly to Penn Station. Yes you can use your credit card
8.25 it’s like for whole day ?
can you pay for the metrocard / airtrain / subway with our UK Debit or Credit card? I don't like the sound of carrying more actual cash around New York unnecessarily
Yes you sure can
On the subway and you use your credit card each time (up to the $33 limit) would you get charged an exchange rate fee on each tube journey? How easy is it just to buy a weekly pass at JFK?
Very easy, we use the revolut card
You can take the q10 bus from jfk and then transfer for free to Manhattan bound trains.
Is it $33 per person ? Theres 2 of us travelling from uk in august.ww need to get off at port authority so shall we just stay on E train
Yes , just use your debit or credit card
can we use credit card to pay for Airtrains and subway or need metro card?
@@bnet7151 you can use credit card
I got confused when you got a ticket for the airtrain and then switched to an apple watch? Was that 2 different tickets?
Yes got a ticket for the airtrain and then for the weekly pass just used apple watch, you can now use apple watch for airtrain so need to get tickets
Zippy❤❤❤❤
If I buy one metro card can use for my husband and a daughter too?
No, you would need three cards
taxi from Airports are fixed rate so you are looking about $80 tops
You can now tap in and out on the air train so saves having to buy a metro card
so If I undestand it correctly, you buy a metrocard then charge it with 33$ and it will give you unlimited travel for 7 days after first travel, is it right ?
Changed alot from the video you can now use your phone to tap and max it will charge you over the 7 days is now 34 dollars
You first payed for the metro card with cash, then talked about your Apple Watch… how did you sync the metro card to your digital payment
Hi thanks for watching, we paid for the airtrain in cash, cant use the 7 day pass for the airtrain so used cash there
It’s now 2.90 & 8.50
Subway prices have gone up
that was T7 not T5
Yes sorry mistake i made during the filming
Hurry dont letdoors close😅😅😅😅😅
Hey send me a postcards 😅😅😅😅😅

So sorry about that
Although a bit longer, u can take the AirTrain to Howard Beach & take the Inwood-207th Street Bound 🅰️🚇
U can take the E, J, or Z 🚇 all the way to Manhattan
Hurry dont letdoors close😅😅😅😅😅
