Good on you ! I knew you could figure this out. You are the only one on UA-cam that consistently breeds tetras, especially the less talked about ones!!
Dear Bo: Oh wow, UA-cam failed to notify me, of your upload. I believe that a quarantine of at least 21 days is necessary; especially for stock from questionable sources, like box stores and online. I’ve had fancy guppies which looked fine, after 18 days of quarantine infect my stock with the “guppy disease.” Other pathogens may not produce noticeable issues, for as long. It is disheartening to learn that you have had trouble acquiring quality stock. I’ve had issues, with online purchases, as well. I find it best, to acquire fauna, from my, local fish club. I’m very pleased, that you are having good success breeding amapa tetra (Hyphessobrycon amapaensis). I appreciate the time and effort you expended, to overcome the obstacles. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Dear Brinegar , Thank you so much for your thoughtful response! I completely agree with you on the importance of a quarantine period. But luckily, my first batch of online-bought amapa tetra was not contagious; they were just in bad shape when they arrived. Perhaps they hadn't been acclimated well by the fish seller before shipping.
@bothetetrabreeder8734 congratulations, with breeding Amapaensis !! Great work , so true what you said at the end about failures causing frustration..... I am setting up a tank for Hyphessobrycon Metae , and plan on using your advice from Cardinal tetras series
Hyphessobrycon metae seems like a very cool tetra. I've been thinking about adding them to my breeding projects list. Wish you good luck with it! And thank you for your support!
